What a strange couple of stones. One was quite common in these parts, the other much more rare.

Still, at least they were getting somewhere, and she had to be happy about that much. They were getting a few things, and everything would be fine she figured, but she wanted a few more things before the trip was over. They weren't in danger of that happening yet though, but that was alright. She figured there had to be a few things to get at this point, but also debated on moving further into the mines at this point. She didn't know what to do, and that was fine as well she thought as Zhalo dug into the ground a little more. There was a thrumming in the area, but she doubted she would find whatever it was she was hunting for at this point. That was fine, but it was sad at the same time, she needed to come back with Vary after she was done with Zhalo, it was the best way.

However she met her goal, she was sure things would go well, she figured as she watched Zhalo out of the corner of her eye, hitting the wall with her pickax as she did so. It wasn't like there was a lot of stuff for her to do at the moment, but that was fine at the same time. It wasn't like she was devoid of things to do, exactly, it's just that mining had lost it's appeal. Maybe she could take him to the garden or something, but bringing him to the mines just made sense, she figured with a sigh. This is where his ancestry was from, being a pure Black Sarane, and even though he'd never been here before, it wasn't like she couldn't figure something out for him to do. Already he seemed to understand what they were going for, but she wanted to make sure that things would be fine as well.

Zhalo knew what she was going for, but it just didn't make much sense to him at the moment. She wanted to do magic? That didn't really make sense, considering he couldn't do magic, but that was fine at the same time. Maybe he didn't need to know what was going on to understand things, but it didn't matter in the long run either. Jack was a bit of an enigma to him, he didn't fully understand her and all that, but that was fine at the same time. What did she need with so much magic anyway? It had something to do with her mother, which didn't make much sense to him in the long run, but that was fine as well he figured, he didn't need to know everything about her history in order to work with her any at this point. Jack appreciated that he didn't pry like some of her animals did, but that was all.

Whatever, Jack knew that he cared about her, but that would change when he grew up she knew, which was an issue for her. She sighed a little and leaned on her pickax again as she noticed Zhalo had dug out a strange green stone. It was good for her she supposed, that he was getting so many stones for her at the same time. It wasn't like she needed the stones all that badly, but it was nice to have them again she figured. Of course she could always sell them for credits, but she was holding out that someday the Workshop would open again and she would need to have a decent little stock to work with and all that. Zhalo didn't understand that, but that was fine she thought with a smile, he didn't need to understand it, he just needed to help her out and to socialize with her a little so she could break him without incident later.

Already getting big, Jack knew he was going to be a big guy whenever he grew up all the way. She sighed a little and watched him dig a little while longer before she put her tools in the cart and pulled the serpentine out of the hole he was digging and tossed it in with the other stones they'd found so far as well. Smiling a little at Zhalo, she patted him on the head and then told him they were heading further into the mines just in case, to which he nodded and started trotting off, the leash taut between his neck and her wrist as he made it a mission to find a better spot for them both to hunt for stones. Maybe this would be better for the crystals or something, he didn't really know, but he was going to trust her at the same time he figured.

Two really nicely colored stones could be found nearby, one in pale blue swathes, and the other shimmering!

They reached an area that looked good, and so Jack put the little party to a halt at the moment. She smiled a little and shook her head, she didn't know what made it seem so good, but she knew it seemed like it was going to be amazing no matter what. Jack patted Zhalo on the head and then dug her pickax into the wall as quickly as she could, something dropping out of the wall instantly. Maybe this was the best place after all, if only they could just find some crystals, she would be thrilled by that. Chuckling a little, she took the malachite and brushed some of the dust off so she could see it, a pretty green stone that didn't do much, but it was pretty enough in the right base. Now if the Workshop would just open up, things would be fine and all that.

All they had to do was find some more things, she figured, and then they would stick around for awhile. The Sarane was already digging in the ground again and she managed a chuckle, he'd need a bath after the breaking, definitely, she just hoped it wouldn't affect the breaking or anything. Maybe the saddle wouldn't cinch down as easily, she figured, or something like that. But she couldn't afford to wake him up before the breaking by giving him a bath then, she would just have to work around it. She dug the pickax into the wall again with a determined smile, she knew what she was trying to find, it was just the matter of finding it at this point. Jack shook her head, they probably wouldn't find any until she brought Vary with her again, but the skittish little familiar was a little bit of a pain at the moment.

Zhalo was digging in the ground, pleased whenever he found stones, even though the woman took them. He didn't care though, it wasn't as though he was going to keep them or anything, the fun was in the hunt for them, he thought at least. While he knew he was getting bigger as well, he didn't know exactly what that meant for him at the moment. Did that mean he was going to be in the Pit at some point? No, she wouldn't do that to him, she would let him be free, he figured. Boy was he wrong, already Jack was hoping things would go well during the breaking, though she didn't know what else to do about things. That was fine though, she thought it would go well no matter what and all that. Smiling a little, she shook her head and dug into the wall once again, hard.

Everything would go well, she just had to remember not to use anything related to fire, because he was resistant to fire damage. His skin handled it well, just like his family she thought, that was the boon of being born to Alexei's line she thought with a smile. Jack stroked his back for a moment before biting into the wall again, wondering what they would find next and hoping it would be a good one. It might be nice to hit a diamond pocket or something, something valuable and all that at the moment. Not that others weren't valuable, but diamonds were diamonds, it seemed. Giving a smile and a shrug, she shook her hair out and then realized she hadn't dug for a moment or two, and the pickax dug into the wall again with gusto. All things would be fine after awhile she figured, but she still wanted to find things.

It wasn't like she didn't have plenty of stones, but she wanted more of them, just in case. Some metal would be nice too she thought with a smile, but she shook her head a little, she doubted they would find anything good at least. All she had to do was to find a few more stones and it would be worth it, but Zhalo needed to find some things as well she figured with a little smile on her face. He enjoyed finding things, and didn't have any qualms about giving them up. It was just to their advantage and all that for them to trade things, and even though his horns were getting bigger and bigger, she figured he wouldn't try to hurt her for them, at least until he was fully grown, that is. Jack sighed, that was still so far away it seemed, she didn't know much of what to do.

How beautiful! A rather mossy-looking vein could be found nearby.

Jack and Zhalo were pretty thrilled when they realized this was a pretty good spot for them to work in. Jack smiled a little and things would be fine she figured, as they both dug, Jack in the wall and Zhalo in the ground of the mines for the moment, and she figured that things would work out no matter what. This was especially clear whenever she realized Zhalo had dug out some metal and discarded it, unsure of what it was at the moment. She put down her pickax and wandered over, picked it up, and looked it over for a little bit. Zinc and tin were hard to distinguish sometimes, but she realized it was zinc after awhile of looking at it. It would be good to work with it eventually she knew, but until then it would be with the rest of her metals for awhile, until the Workshop opened up again.

This would probably be their last luck they were going to have in this area, but she figured they would try a little longer just to make sure of things no matter what. They all needed to figure things out and all that, and she smiled a little no matter what. At least she had something to do, and a goal to be had for the moment, which was good and all that. Jack pushed her hair back a little and then watched as Zhalo dug through the dirt in the mines a little at the same time. At least he had something he enjoyed doing, and he really seemed to like the mines as well. It was going to be great, she figured, if they found a lot more things at the same time. Nothing was going to go wrong and everything, and then things would be fine. She just had to keep looking.
