Jack paused, though Zhalo didn't at the moment, not until she shushed him. She saw the wyrm out of the corner of her eye, the light of her lamp gleaming off of it at the moment. Grinning, she reached into the cart and grabbed a rope, knotting it into a lasso of sorts so she could catch it if it tried to run away from her. She had Zhalo keep quiet next to the cart as she snuck forward, talking a little at it, quietly and cheerfully as she crept forward. "Hey there little one, how are you today?" She paused several feet away from it, a stone in her hand from the cart, she didn't know what it was going to want, this stone or the amethyst it was holding, but either way it would be fine. She figured she could get it no matter what, she just hoped that things would work out.

The wyrm felt rather than heard the noise really, and couldn't make heads nor tails of it. The familiar had not seen anything that looked like that down here before, but already it felt like running. However, it still wasn't sure whether it was going to be fast enough to get away with the amethyst chunk or not. It was really big, after all, and speed would be of the essence... Should it drop it?

"Hey there, easy, it's alright," she said again, and knelt down in front of it, a few feet still in between them. Jack took the stone she was holding and rolled it toward the wyrm until it rested about halfway between them, definitely in a spot she could lasso it. While not the kind of familiar she'd been hoping for, at least it was something she could break down for stones, or at least have Gig do it because she couldn't bring herself to do it. Smiling gently, she placed a hand on the floor about halfway between the stone and herself if the being wanted to come and sniff her as well. Zhalo was still sitting by the cart, straining to see what was going on, but frozen by the command she had given him. He would stay for her, but no one else at this point. That was fine, that's how she wanted it.

The wyrm nearly freaked out, backing up a bit, and dropped the amethyst. The hunk rolled several feet away due to mostly being round, and the wyrm rattled a bit, realizing that it couldn't really get away at this angle, with the person this close. It keep it's eyes on the individual, even though it was kinda frustrated that it no longer had the amethyst chunk secured. It was still enough, for now, looking for an opening.

Okay, this wasn't working. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't. Zhalo was still straining to see what was going on, but he couldn't see very well and simply laid down to try and take a bit of a nap. Jack sighed a little and shook her head, unsure if she should use the lasso or not. She was a pretty good shot, all things considered, but this thing looked ready to bolt. Chewing her lip, she showed the wyrm her rope, "Hey there, not too bad yeah? I just want to slip this around you and you can come with us where there's loads more stones..." The woman kept talking as she crept forward, holding the rope out and nudging the stone she had dropped forward a little more toward the wyrm. It was going to go well, or she was going to chase it off, either way, this would do... something.

Wyrms are not well known for being smart, and it would seem that this one was quite middle-of-the-pack in that regard as well. It wasn't entirely sure what the individual was doing, and was instead trying to watch all of the movements at once, and not doing once too well at it. It was backed up all the way to the wall from earlier and a little trapped. It wasn't really even noticing the lasso, since it was assuming that it was merely part of the movement altogether in front of it.

"Well," Jack said in her usual friendly tone when she was trying to capture an animal, "If you're going to be dumb and not notice this, then I can just go ahead and slip it on over your head, hmm?" She smiled, if only to try and lure it in one last time before she reached out with the lasso and attempted to slip it over it's neck. She didn't know if this would work, but she moved fast enough for it to not move out of the way, and slow enough for it to not panic. At least that was the goal, she figured. Zhalo stayed behind, eyes open and head on his front feet, wondering when this was going to be done so he could start to dig again. Whenever it happened, he figured things would be fine and they could get a few more stones again sometime soon.

The creature didn't know what happened. At first, the being moved, and then suddenly there was pressure around its neck! The creature tried to roll and get away, but it was blocked and captured. What could it do? What should it do? Despite attempts, it was soon worn out, and not understanding what was going on, gave up. It stared over at the amethyst hunk a few feet away, wondering what would happen from here on out.

Jack struggled with it for a little bit and then managed to shove it into the cart, where it curled up with some of the stones she had found. The woman grabbed the grubby and the amethyst, as well as the other stone and tossed them into the cart s well with a smile. They weren't smart, and she felt a little bad breaking it down, but what happened, would happen, and that was all. She whistled to Zhalo who immediately started digging again and then she smiled again before digging next to him, she didn't know what was going to happen and all that, but she hoped for new stones and all that at the same time. Jack was pleased with finding at least one familiar down in the mines this time, one that could be broken down into more gems for her to use. Part of her felt bad, but... it had to happen.

How are you supposed to mine with all of these rocks in the way?

Jack was pleased with things so far, though she knew she could do better as time went on. She shook her head a little and glanced over at Zhalo as she dug into the hole a little bit more. He was getting so big, already two thirds of his full size, he was going to be a big one, she knew that much, and she smiled a little as she worked. At least she was getting him socialized for the inevitable breaking and all that. It was going to be rough, she knew, but that was fine as well, at least she knew a little of what she was getting into for now. Jack pushed her hair back and then patted Zhalo on the head. He chuffed at her a little, though she thought he was starting to get a little twitchy already. Well then, that wasn't good at all she figured.

The woman leaned on her shovel and wiped her brow on her arm. Maybe she should stop down here and go back to the Mansion or something, but here she could find stones to work with or sell, and that was more important to her at the moment, she figured. Giving a little sigh, she patted Zhalo on his flank and then started to dig again. She was just running out of things to think about, unless she wanted to think of things to teach Goran the next time they were down in the mines or whatever. A little chuckle escaped her, that wouldn't be too bad she figured, and she wondered if things would be fine if she trained him down here instead of digging. Well, they would be able to do both at the moment, and that was going to be fine no matter what, it would be fine and all.

Well, whatever the case may be, she wasn't with Goran right now, she was with Zhalo, and that's what mattered. She had to focus on his growth and make sure he wasn't getting too big too fast so she knew when he was going to start raging. Already he was starting to get twitchy, which wasn't good, he still had a bunch of growing to do and all. Jack sighed a little, unsure of what to do with him right now, but understanding there was something for her to do at the moment. Really she just needed to focus on her digging and the Sarane and call it all good, and then everything would be fine. It wasn't like she could afford to make any mistakes at this point and all that, not with a tier three Drake on her hands. At least she had something to do though, she had to be happy about that.

It was one thing to be thinking of digging and socializing a Sarane, it was another thing completely to actually do it, often at the same time. Jack stretched out a little and thought about taking a nap, she usually woke up before they grew all the way after all, and if she convinced him to shake her a little to wake her up whenever he felt him getting agitated, then maybe things would work out a little bit. He continued to dig as she contemplated this, and wondered what to do at the moment without a doubt. At least things were going well between them she figured, he hadn't attacked her yet or anything, and that was perfect with things at the same time. Jack just hoped that things would continue to go well, that the breaking would be good, and that everything she was worried about wasn't going to come to pass.

She still thought about going back to the Mansion, or hell, even to the gardens or something at this point. Jack sighed a little and shook her head, it was probably for the best they were here, she wasn't getting much, but she had a good feeling they might come across something soon. At least she hoped it was a good feeling and not anything else. Maybe she was just getting her hopes up. Glancing over at Zhalo, she didn't know what to do about things as of yet and all that. It was just as well that she was working with him so much at the moment, at least she had some idea of what to do with things and all that when the breaking happened. Jack sighed again and shook her head, she was getting herself into a mess, she knew it, and she hoped that wasn't going to change things anytime soon.
