They were getting along rather well, considering the time they had spent together. Not as long as her father had spent with the woman, but as Di sat there and stared at her, wagging her tail, she wished that things would go well no matter what. Smiling, the woman waved at her and then went back to chipping away at the rocks that had rolled out of the wall. Everything was going to be well she knew, they would get to hunting soon enough and she knew that Di could figure it all out. Tapping her chin, the woman shook her head a little and smiled a bit, hoping that things were going to be alright in the long run. Hmm, she would have to at least train her up a little more, she wanted her to be Treasured, after all, just like her father was to the woman at this point.

If anything, they were almost to the point that they could go hunting, but Jack knew it would still be a little while before they could go. Might as well take advantage of the time before they had to leave, right? There were some things in these rocks, she could feel it, and she knew that things would be alright as they got going as well. Smiling, the woman watched as Di wandered around while she dug into the rocks for stones, and she wondered what was going on in Di's head. Hmm, she supposed it didn't matter, but that was fine as well, she wanted to know, of course, and thought about what Ribbons she had available in the Kennel for the Ohou. It wouldn't really do to give one to each of her Ohou though, so maybe a ring would be better, but that would make three of them for her alone.

Jack scratched the back of her head with a little sigh as she tried to figure out what all they were going to do right now. She supposed it didn't really matter, but that was fine all along she supposed. Maybe the hunting would go well, maybe it wouldn't, there was no real way to be sure of it at this point. Jack chuckled a little as she tried to figure out what to do with Di before the hunting could begin. There was always more training, she figured with a low frown, though getting Treasured for her might not be worth it. However... she wanted to do that. She really did, she wanted to get one of each generation of Merle's line, for whatever reason. At least it was a goal, she figured with a chuckle as she worked on the rocks some more, Di sniffing around behind her now.

She was almost there though, so she couldn't stop yet. Keeping her eyes on the rocks below her, she kept digging until she made a discovery that made her smile, a lightly streaked with pink stone, or, well, rock she supposed, the ore was in the rock and she would have to take the whole thing out at this point. Chuckling, the woman shook her head and thought about it a little bit as she took the ore and put it into her bag. It wasn't like the Workshop was open anymore, the building was pretty much condemned at this point, which was fine by her she supposed. It was just a shame that she had spent so much time there and it was all for naught. Whatever, she supposed as she looked over at Di, at least she still had her animals, so there was that she figured with a smile.

Di wasn't sure why she was acting so strange, the woman that is. She shook her head and ended with her tail shaking as well, a full body shake did the body good sometimes at least. Smiling, the woman glanced over at her and then focused on the stones again, wondering what to do with everything she was finding. There were many stones in the cart and her bag, not to mention the wyrm in there as well. One of these days she needed to break them all down, the ones she didn't want anymore, and then get the stones for them. Oh well, she had time to, she knew, but still that didn't mean she wanted to do it. It just seemed strange and that was a shame really, she wasn't that cold hearted when it came to the familiars she brought back with her. It took effort, didn't it?

While she figured that things were getting along well enough between her and Di, she didn't know if they would be as close as she and Merle were. That could be an issue along the way, she supposed, but sighed a little as she thought about it a little bit. It didn't really matter in the long run, what the things were doing as of yet, as long as she was part of it, she figured with a small sneeze. Some dust got into her nose and tickled it, and she let out a roaring sneeze that made the little Ohou pup jump. Jack laughed and apologized to her, the pup slinking over for some comfort. Jack rubbed her back and cooed at her, hoping that things would be alright when it was all said and done. Oh well though, she thought with a small shrug, it didn't really matter, but it was still a shame if things didn't work out.

Di sighed and plopped down next to the woman at this point and looked around, she didn't know why they were still here, but the woman seemed to have some kind of reason behind it, she supposed. It was getting a little boring down here though, nothing was popping out at her to track or even search for, really, and Jack wasn't paying her too much attention. Whining, she wiggled until her head was resting on the woman's leg, to which she laughed and rubbed the pup's head. This was fine, she could take a break before they had to head back to the entrance to the mines and head over to the Everfields for hunting. It was probably close to night, though she couldn't tell in here of course, time had no meaning in the mines it would seem. She went by how the animals acted, really, and her own internal clock as well.

Well, it might as well be now, she figured as she rolled a few stones she had uncovered into the bag she always carried with her. Several things could fit in there, regardless of size, which was amazing, she'd had it specially crafted for herself and all of her tendencies. Jack pushed her hair back and attached the lead to Diana's collar again, this time having her walk for awhile as they headed out of the mines instead of riding in her back. The woman pulled herself to her feet and sighed a little before beginning to head out. Maybe they would come across another familiar on their way out, she chuckled, raising an eyebrow. It wouldn't be the first time, she figured, and it wouldn't be the last time either, she suspected. Oh well, it was up to the gods to decide, she figured, about how lucky she would be at this point.

She had let Di crawl into the cart after a little while with the wyrm, there wasn't much point in having her walk while she was tired. The woman herself yawned a little and shook her head, she didn't know what to make of things right now. When she yawned her eyes closed, and when they opened again, she came across an odd pairing. Raising an eyebrow, she stared at the drake and the tunnel worm, well... there was something at least...? "Hey there you two, want some more stones?" she asked, taking a few stones out of her bag and lining them toward the door to the cart. She opened it a crack to show off the sparkling hoard inside with a little smile, "Come on in and you can have some, you know." Maybe this was terrible of her, she didn't really know, but hey, if it got her what she wanted...

Ah, a noise! The rather cowardly tunnel worm took to hiding behind the gem drake, who was unbothered by the interruption. Enough people traipsed through the caverns that it was used to it. It was bold enough to follow the trail of stones, examining each one before moving onto the next - the worm slithered along behind. It... was kind of cute, in its own way.

Chuckling, Jack watched the two move closer to the cart where the Ohou and the gem wyrm were sleeping for now. At least they seemed to be pretty easy to fool for the moment, though it could change when they saw the two inside of the cart, it did look kind of bad. Hopefully the gems were enough to pull them in though, and she opened the door all the way to show them off. Standing back a step or two, she watched and waited for them to get into the cart to take away the gems, then she would close the door and they would get caught. That was the plan at least, it was easy to screw it up though, especially if one didn't get inside. If it was the worm though, she was sure she could just throw a rock at it and knock it out or something, if need be.

The drake is too confident for its own good. It must be dumb as rocks - it clambers into the cart without thinking, and without noticing the wyrm already hanging out in there. The tunnel worm is far less forthcoming. It hisses, looks at you, hisses again... oh dear.

...huh. She thought drakes were smarter than that. The woman shrugged and closed the door quick as she could before rounding on the worm, a large rock in her hand. Tossing it up into the air, she caught it again and then eyed it. Well... she'd had the thought, might as well go through with it, she figured. Jack narrowed her eyes and pulled her hand back before launching it forward and attempting to connect the rock with the worm's... head... area... whatever. Glancing sideways, she let the rock escape her hand and launch it toward the worm and she hoped this would work. If not, it was pretty pathetic, but there wasn't much else she could do. She supposed she could grab her shovel and just bash it over the head, she'd done that before too. Not that she really wanted the worm, but hey, it was something else to sell she figured.

Uh... it works. The rock bounces off of the worm's head with a thunk, and sends it flopping to the ground. It's an unfortunate way to do these things, but if it gets the job done...
[Congratulations, you have successfully tamed(?) the creatures!]
