Hybridization Designation: X002-"Tilron" (Faeron x Tilvander) - Open Genetics
| | A
| B
|
|
Biology Report Diet: Primarily piscivorous; fruit and fish tend to be favorites of these creatures, but they'll take a tentative nibble of just about anything - especially if its either sweet or shiny.
Call: They take on strongly after their faeron parent when it comes to the variety of sounds they make, from squeaks and mews to a chirping giggle. "Kree ke ke ke!"
General Care: These creatures require fresh water thrive, but can be on land for short periods of time as long as their skin stays moist. Their water should be kept free of harsh chemicals and at a temperature around 70Β° F (20Β° C). A proper enclosure for these animals should have a large, filtered pool for swimming and a sheltered hide with a landing for them to rest on. They have a far higher metabolism than their tilvander parent and require food more frequently. These creatures are highly intelligent and social, and as such, require plenty of stimulation to prevent destructive boredom.
Field Notes: A water-dwelling amphibious creature with boundless energy, sure to brighten anyone's day - literally. Their tendrils feature bioluminescent tips that dance in the water when they swim, making them especially wonderful to watch at night. They are nocturnal and tend to avoid sunlight if still awake during the day (if only because it would dry their skin out). They are playful, friendly, and have a great affinity for bubbles; and they're not afraid to show off their bubble-producing abilities. While they aren't as damage-resistant as their faeron parent, they do have an impressive ability to regenerate body parts. So, while their tendrils may be fairly delicate and prone to breaking, they grow right back! |

Hybridization Designation: X003-"Kibling" (Ling-Ling x Kibol) - Open Genetics
| | |
Biology Report Diet: Omnivorous, with the preference of sweeter foods. These creatures seem to enjoy juicy fruits, candy, honey, and will even try to lap the nectar from flowers. They will not turn down the chance at table scraps however!
Call: These animals can produce a wide variety of sounds, including chirps, chitters, and purrs, growls and hisses. Many sounds a cat would make (and for the same reasons), these creatures would too! They do enjoy chattering back when spoken to. The most notable of their calls is that when they are extremely happy and content, they hum their purr in a gentle chime-like tone that some might liken to a bell.
General Care: Keeping these little creatures happy and healthy is fairly easy; provide them with a warm place to curl up and sleep and keep them well fed. They do not need very much room to roam, but do tend to enjoy having high places to perch upon - a cat tree does this well. Their curly mane does need to be groomed occasionally to prevent matting. Their hearing is fairly sensitive, so ensure that they are not exposed to loud or high-pitched sounds. To keep them nested in whatever bed you might give them (instead of having them choose you as their bed) a heated rock or blanket does the trick.
Field Notes: An exceptionally affectionate and outright cute creature - and a treat to be around. Their pelt is a of dense coat of fur laid over smooth scales, topped with a curly, silky mane. Like petting a cloud.. An often chatty cloud that will curl up on an empty lap or neck that they find suitable. These creatures bond easily with those who spend time with them, and have the ability to share emotions with those they've grown close to. Interestingly, they can take to the air at will - perhaps not in true flight like a bird, but with a bit more grace than their ling-ling parent would. Almost as if they climb upon the air itself, finding purchase where many would find none. |

Hybridization Designation: X004-"Felubu" (Orbaru x Felusine)
| | A
| B
|
|
Biology Report Diet: Omnivorous, usually content to eat kibble when supplemented with hay or fresh grass. Unfortunately, they can be fussy eaters and will refuse food that doesn't look quite right. The green pieces of kibble? No. Kindly remove it from the dish else it will tarnish the whole meal.
Call: Quiet whimpering, sniveling, soft mewing... Generally these creatures are quiet, but when distressed (which happens easily) their tail bell will jingle.
General Care: Provide these creatures with something to hold on to, let it be a teddy or a hand, to help keep them calm and comforted. Often they'll clutch their own ears, though this may lead to fur loss or irritation of the skin if allowed for long periods of time. Keep the temperature of their habitat to a warm 80Β° F (26Β° C) or provide plenty of nesting or blankets to ensure their comfort. The long fur of their ears does need to be brushed occasionally to prevent matting, and cleaned from dirt daily as they drag on the ground. These creatures need plenty of attention or a companion to keep them feeling safe and secure.
Field Notes: Oh.. Be sure to treat these creatures with good care and plenty of attention, as well as positive reinforcement. They really look like they could use a hug, at all times. Their fur is soft and snuggly and warm and they're a great cuddling companion... If you can withstand those big, sad eyes and occasional downtrodden sighing... If you hear their tail bell, tell them "Everything's ok", soft and gently. If that doesn't work, do expect them to retreat into a box or hide until they feel it is safe to come out. Like their felusine parent, these creatures are capable of taking and holding objects with ease, and will often do so to clutch a blanket or emotional support teddy. Do not take away whatever they have deemed their emotional support object. |

Hybrid Re-Mix: RM001-"Equillor"
| | 533
|
|
Biology Report Diet: Omnivorous, with a preference for fresh, unprocessed meat. They will eat fresh berries if offered, and while their gut can process grass and grain, their beaks aren't capable of chewing it.
Call: What would be a whinny becomes more of a whistle through the beaked mouth of these creatures. Their voice is sharp and loud, and not too far from the likeness of an elk's bellow. If content, their throat may rumble with a purr!
General Care: Maintaining the strange mix of feathers and fur which makes up their coat is the most tedious task when it comes to caring for these creatures. Brush the fur weekly, taking care not to irritate growing pin feathers. Their front feet may need the hoof-claws to be cared for professionally by a farrier if they do not get enough exercise to wear them down naturally.
Field Notes: Sanctuary proudly presents their first 're-mixed' hybrid, featuring the best of both worlds from equillion and gallor: the equillion's powerful body build and the gallor's grace all reconfigured into a supreme creature. Strong, robust, and gifted with flight, these creatures are a great mount for land and air once appropriately trained. They can be fairly headstrong and will take a firm hand to reel in and tame however. These creatures seem aware of their power and will use it as they deem fit. This includes the magical, healing touch of their horn. Thankfully, it seems they do bond well with their care takers once they warm up to them. |
