"Squee, stop messing with me like that." Morgan grumbles to the small creature that could perhaps be called a 'cat' if one squinted and was perhaps quite sleepy. That was how Tailypo were; always playing tricks- and smart enough to really make it count too. They could tell whenever something they were doing was having the desired effect, and were smart enough to draw off of that. Of course, their intelligence had been nothing but a complete accident; but they were a success at least in the regard that they made it work for them.
"You keep an eye out, Squee- but don't cry wolf." They knew that what they were saying wasn't understood as they passed through the gate and around the first row of tombstones. Still, Squee made a soft noise back at them, and that gave them comfort.
"It would be nice if the list explained what the kid's p-p-pa. Father. What their father's last name was and all..." That would be a good place to start looking at least.

Morgan was not given that information, however- no matter how much they scrutinized the form. After all, they doubted that the doll had to be right next to the unfortunate individual's grave, since it could have been dropped at any point to the graveyard. Morgan's idea instead was to check each row carefully and methodically. Lucky for them, the cemetery was very well lit; being near the center areas of the city and all. There was a reason why this place was held in high enough esteem for the rich to bury their dead here. The first two rows go by without anything catching Morgan's eye. They were looking for the vague shape of a doll, but they really weren't sure what kind of doll it was either. They were assuming humanoid, but it really could have been a vulticus stuffie for all they knew (those were popular enough with the kids, it seemed).
"What do you think, S-squee?" Morgan voices, rhetorically. They are answered with a soft noise from the creature, still happily riding in their backpack.

Morgan laughed mirthlessly, more of a nervous noise than anything else- but it was a well delayed one in its entirety since Morgan had passed another couple of rows before they felt that strange sensation yet again that Something out there was watching them. They stopped in place and turned around and around, trying to figure out exactly why they were getting the sensation at all. It made no sense! Just earlier they had been in such a good mood, and now the longer they stayed out, the more they felt that gross feeling that there was someone just close enough to touch them practically, or staring at them from odd corners. The Paranoia had come out of nowhere as far as they were concerned.
"Well, w-whoever you are, if y-ya en't gonna help me, then go away." Morgan says to the cool night air. It was getting colder as they spoke, or at least it felt that way. Squee ducks down into the backpack suddenly, and Morgan feels that tell-tale sensation against their nape again.

Just whenever the human thought that they were going completely out of their mind, they saw it. It was scarcely a torso- or perhaps a pair of legs, and they were dark. Disappearing into the darkness around the corner near the gate. Morgan frowns; there was definitely someone there- and they were going to have to confront them to get them to stop following them. "Gotcha." Morgan mumbled, taking off after the creep, and practically skidding around the corner. They could see the person, again just the back half, obviously wearing some kind of black pants that were quite dark, and disappearing into the darkness towards the back of the cemetery. Morgan continues to chase after them, and they should have been gaining.
When they finally moved around the back corner of the cemetery; they couldn't see the person any more. Squee makes a soft noise as she pokes her head out of the backpack again, and both of them now have their eyes trained on something that has reveled itself beneath the only light on the backside of the cemetery-
It is a doll.

Morgan has no doubt in their mind that this is the particular doll that they were sent after; but why did it have to be so creepy? The bespectacled human found it completely unbearable to look at, and daunting to consider even touching. They spent some time glancing around, searching for the mysterious individual that had lead them here inadvertently, and finally had to give up. There was no one to be found. They walk up to the doll after having returned to the spot and reach down. Squee makes a noise as Morgan does; a shrill one. "Goodness, Goodness, h-hush Squee, gawsh, you've been a mess." They murmur to her. Still, they hesitate when they go to pick up the doll. Gawsh, it was horrid. It had to be the doll, though- what were the chances of two dolls going missing out here? They finally pick it up, and make their way out of the vicinity as fast as possible.
This had been a horrible idea. Just holding the doll gave them an overwhelming sense of dread.
