The cemetery itself was very quaint when it came to décor that morning, and it was completely empty despite Renathan's concerns. One would have thought that around Vai Min Mur celebrations that one would see a good number of decorations out on the graves, but there was very little to be had considering the time of year. He saw a few wreaths of flowers like marigolds and even carnations (out of season; surprising) but little of anything else. The grass was relatively un-littered and it did not seem like anyone had done anything destructive to the graves (thankfully, Renathan would have hated to have seen something like that). There was not even toilet-paper hanging from the trees; which had become a rather rowdy Vai Min Mur tradition the past couple of years that Renathan was in the Labs City. Still; he got most of the way through the rows and he had not seen hide nor hair of a doll. Auburn seemed to calm down some as he also did, at least.

Renathan had to check again on the scrap to make sure that this was the correct cemetery. He had not had anything even remotely doll-like catch his eye the entire time he was out, and now his feet were wet and grassy (apparently someone had mowed the grass lately- probably for the last time for the year since the first frost had fallen). He didn't quite have the same 'eerie' feeling as he did before, but it was hard to feel that way whenever the sun was shining so brightly down on him. Cemeteries really were not all that scary in the least. However, he does make it to nearly the last row and he notices something 'peering' out at him beyond the bushes. The eyes were glassy and didn't quite reflect the light in the correct way; he figured after a moment of stopping (holding his breath for a second anxiously) that it must be because the 'eyes' were buttons.

Renathan moved over quickly to the bush. It was in front of a grave that whenever Renathan squinted to read it, he realized sounded like a male name at least. Perhaps this was the grave of the kid's dad. He dipped his head in respect and then got down on his hands and knees to look in the brush to see if he could find what he was so very sure was the doll. However, when he glanced through the brush -and he had hardly even taken his eyes off of it!- he could not find the doll anywhere! He got a very bad feeling, like someone was breathing down his neck (and when he had gotten on his hands and knees, Auburn had fluttered to the ground to keep from being up there when he went horizontal- so it wasn't her!). Renathan leaps up with a 'oop!' noise escaping his throat, and turned around quickly.

Of course, there was no one behind him. Renathan rubbed the back of his neck with the flat of his palm, but he wondered what had set him off so badly. Auburn seemed worried, but not panicked. Instead, she seemed much more worried about HIM instead of something else having been there. That gave him a bit of cause for concern, he felt. This sort of thing had happened to him before- and he certainly knew that he felt like there was something 'bad' here. Maybe a creature with psychic powers or something else. He glanced around, looking for it, but he knew that if Auburn couldn't see it than he certainly would not be able to see it himself. He sighs, and then looks back at the brush where the doll had been before, but where it most certainly wasn't now. He moved the bush with his foot; and yes- it was now completely empty.

Just when Renathan turned back around finally to look at the grave he'd been standing in front of, he just about jumped out of his very hide. There was the doll! He knew from the strange gleam in its weird button eyes that it was the same one. But how had it gotten out of the bush? He swallowed, his mouth suddenly dry. He had no idea if he should bring this doll back to the kid or if he should leave it here and lie about it. Which one of those things would be better for the family? Perhaps the mother didn't want it back home because it was haunted?! He debates about this, and doesn't let it out of his sight just in case it might vanish again.
"...Come on Auburn, we're leaving." He says, putting down an arm so that she could climb up. He reaches down and scoops up the doll to take it back, even though he really didn't like the idea of touching it. At least the kid would be... Happy?
