After a few minutes, Fiera's hole was just about done, and the one Argyle was making was... messy, but also finished. She sidled over to another spot and tapped it with her shovel, once again marveling at something on the blank earth. Her gallor was already properly riled up, in "silly mode" as she had heard it called, and rushed past her to pounce on the new spot. Fiera left him to it to dig the hole for her- it saved her a lot of work. In the meantime, she took a look at the two existing holes, and the trees. It wouldn't be too hard to plant them on her on, would it? Not counting the leaves, the trees weren't even as tall as she was, with most of the weight being held in the dirt that was swaddled under them. So once they were in, they wouldn't be too hard to adjust.

In that case, there was no time to waste. She left Argyle to work on his newest hole, and started dragging one of the cherry trees over to the first one he dug. She kicked it down the slope and it nearly fell over before as it slid down to the bottom, with Fiera supporting its trunk. She propped it back up and checked the depth. It looked good enough to her- no roots poking out over the top of the soil. With that done she carefully untied the top of the bag, yanking it off in one swift movement. The tree's roots spilled out, coated in thick potting soil. Perfect. Now all she had to do was fill in the hole- or what was left of it with the potting soil in the way. She quickly shoved her shovel's head into the pile of dirt she had made for this hole.

She filled in the hole, patted down the soil, and then put a few more scoops on top just to be sure... before scraping the soil that Argyle had flung in all directions onto it as well. "Well there we go, then!" She said cheerily, her ears held high. "One planted tree!" With that done, she turned to the next tree and dragged that one over to its hole as well. This one was a lot neater than the first due to it not being dug by Argyle, and it was a lot easier to plant the tree in there and fill the hole back in with the neater pile of dirt next to it. Soon it stood just as straight as its sibling nearby. She glanced at Argyle- he had already finished digging the third hole, and was now lying on his side, panting heavily from the effort. It looked like he wore himself out.

"Good job bud, you worked hard." Fiera said, giving him an appreciative scratch behind the ears. He chirruped happily before returning to his impromptu nap. Felines were lazy like that, she supposed, but not having to babysit him made her job easier. This tree felt the heaviest, but that was probably because she was starting to feel pretty tired as well. Still, she managed to drag it over to the hole and shove it in before pulling off the burlap sack. This one was a bit harder to remove, and she ended up leaving behind a couple of scraps, but finally she managed to get it free. From there she pulled over as much of the soil that Argyle had spread as possible while holding the tree upright and patted it down, making sure the soil was nice and compact so the tree couldn't lean over again. "There!" Fiera said, clapping off her hands.

The humanish glanced around. While working on her holes and planting the trees she had been a bit miffed- all this effort, and she only managed to plant three trees when this single lane would require dozens of them. How pathetic was that? But now that she looked around her, she could see that other volunteers had settled around her like flocks of birds, working on their own holes with their own trees. Many of them only had one sapling- and Fiera had managed three! Chances are, this whole pathway would only take an hour or two with everyone working together, and with that thought in mind a weight lifted from Fiera's shoulders. She had only managed a drop in the bucket, but what was a bucket of water but made up of many drops? She picked up Argyle's leash and tugged on it, beckoning him to get up. "Come on, Argyle. Let's get our voucher and leave- it's way too hot out here anyway."
