Interested hums escaped the leopard's throat as he listened intently to the fox. Living below ground seemed like an interesting concept.. Making a hole a home though, how does that work? He figured there would be no means for modern comforts in the earth. But perhaps his mental imagery was a bit off from what the reality of these fox-holes were like. It made him all the more curious to see such a thing for himself, it tickled his innate wanderlust.
"Ah, Xentus hails from the desert Kalenshaar", he answered then prattled on, "There, everything adapted to the arid heat and sands. Here, there is no such a barrier. Feels... Freer. Except the clothing. Xentus does not know how humans wear so many clothings." He was most comfortable in silk pants and nothing more. How others wore shirts and jackets and shoes was beyond him. The cold did force him to wear a jacket on occasion though, much to his dismay. Laku responded with barks of his own as the other houluh took him up on the offer to play. Happy yips of excitement they were, as he ran off... And bounded up into the air. His paws stood on wind itself as he turned to glance down at Dawson to see if he was coming up too, tail wagging all the while.
"Oi! Laku, down!"

Unbeknownst to Kristofor, he has this little tilt of his head when intently listening to an interesting topic. Angling just enough to listen with interest to Xentus speak of a desert home. It answered some questions on why the cat ran around in pants and nothing else. "I heard humans have no fur to keep warm in cold season, so they wear clothings. On my side of the river, we were much ...freer. Less clothing, but to leave over the river, one wore clothings to blend in." At least thats how Kristofor understood when he had asked a random human one day why they wore clothes but they ran away because they didn't understand yips and barks of animal speak. "Is ...Kaa-lens-ha-r a green desert, lots of plants? or more sands?" He's read about different homes to live in, and desert sounded much too hot. He's already hot enough in the forest or by the river in the hot season. The aerial ascent of the other dog actually doesn't surprise Dawson as much as it should. He's seen really BIG JUMPS... but doesn't recall specifically wear. Maybe its from those climby things his fox friend keeps. The squeaky one and the kicker. Bark bark! So high up! He can't jump high but bounds up on his hind legs briefly, to come down into a play bow. Wiggling. Chase? 16

"Hmm, yes Xentus supposes it is in good manners to bear clothing around here", the leopard said thoughtfully, noting the fox's attire. Humans regarded it unsightly and taboo to be in public without clothing. With no fur to cover themselves, perhaps they felt shame in their bare skin. A silly notion, come to think of it. Xentus took a moment to recall his homeland when the fox inquired further about it. "It is a sand and stone desert mostly. My tribe lays claim to an oasis, so there is some lush greenery Xentus is familiar with", he explained then followed with a question of his own, "Ever visited a desert yourself, sir Kristofor?" The fox must have been somewhat travelled, he thought, though to what extent beyond the city and his forest home was yet to be discovered. The hound whimpered slightly but heeded the leopard's command for it to come down from the air. Such bad manners, playing out of bounds like that. It didn't look like his new friend was coming up, despite the great effort he out behind his jumps, so the canine didn't mind coming back to the earth too terribly. He would, however, still regard this as part of the fun, and started to follow after Dawson on his way down. Chase, yes, chase!

"I haven't found a perfect type of clothings to wear here; although this" he motions to the skirt "is freer, I don't appreciate the breeze. Shorts do not have that problem." Except for making holes for your tail. That'll come with any sort of clothing choice. Maybe he'll visit the tailor and look into finding a pattern for pants or buy some. "Is it ...hard to patch clothings for tails?" His own tail is not the longest, but VERY fluffy and a bother to keep pinned with some clothings he's worn. "No, I read about deserts though." He's read about oasises too; more book learned then traveled. "This is first journey away from home tree for me." He can measure the river in his homeland in his mind, but doesn't know much about the outside world. Hence the language barrier. If he's embarrassed, the ears don't show it. Big jumps at least will come down. But being able to walk not on grass? That is a BIG JUMP. Dawson trots ahead, not running, he keeps pace with fox friend and other dog's...big cat smelling friend. Is he friend too? Approaching him, the hound bounds ahead, turns around, barks excitedly and tries to lead the group. Where going! Bark bark! 'Going...fun box place. Red dog. Human female. Remember?' Kristofor yips without thinking. Encouraging the emotion of happy, interest, uh... togetherness? 18

An involuntary flick of the tail was made as the fox made mention of the issue with them and clothing. With his own particularity long tail, the leopard knew this problem well - even with his limited choice of pants. “Not hard to patch, no. This one makes a makes a vertical cut and adds a button - like how a vest is”, Xentus explained, hoping fox might find the information useful, “Far easier to for long tails into.” As the conversation went on into travel and the desert, the facade of the breeding center came into view. Dawson seemed to recognize the place, which plastered a grin on the leopards face. All the same, it almost felt too soon; he was enjoying the walk and talk with Kristofor. “Ah, seems we’ve arrived. Let us get the houluh set with a room - they seem more than keen to get to know one another better”, Xentus chimed, “And we can chat more in the meanwhile - Xentus is curious to hear more about your home” Laku followed up with the other houluh, turning and barking to encourage the keepers along. This was play time place! They had to hurry!

Hm. He hadn't thought of using a vertical cut with a button. Then again, from a side glance, he can see the long slender cat tail. Less fluff to deal with. He might not even need the button, but to reinforce the cut edges instead... "I will keep that in mind. I may sew the cut edges to help with a large tail versus being long." maybe he should ask the clothing store for an idea on that. Get some materials. "Is there a tailor in the city? The only one I know is a mouse." and he's not joking; Mouse is an 'excellent tailor' in the forest. "Dawson will like a new friend who is his size. He is a bit rough when playing with puppies." Lets see... he needed the certificate, right? "I would like to tell you more about my home." The paperwork is straightforward and He does present Dawson's certificate to get a 'stamp' of sort on the page. Signing his name too before moving aside to let Xentus do his side of the paperwork. Hurry hurry! Play time place! Dawson's almost vibrating with energy before being let loose into the room. He tells Xentus about the forest, the small village with animalfolk and how they were all relatively small animals; the foxes were the only meat eaters to his knowledge in the town? 20 -done?-
