The fish flopped around in a daze, not quite understanding why it was out of the water. Leafy threw a few more worms at it, trying to keep it distracted. The fish gobbled up the worms, now not minding so much that it was out of the water. It was driven by food and in order to capture it, Leafy would need to use that to her advantage. James tried to nudge the fish into position, trying to help her out in her attempt. The fish snapped at him when he got too close, driving him away with its thorny body. In retaliation, Leafy swung the fishing net at it, trying to keep it captured. The fish became confused, having no idea how to escape from everything and Leafy gave it more worms to try and keep it placated. James attempted to pounce on it but was once again driven away by its thorns.

James decided to try and chase the Pinball fish instead, directing it towards the bucket. In the commotion, James managed to run into the bucket, tipping it over and spilling its contents across the ground. Leafy scrambled to try and regain control of the situation. She grabbed the bucket and fill it with water once again and quickly scooped her first fish find back into it, not wanting it to die due to lack of oxygen. The plant that the bucket contained headed directly towards the Pinball fish. The fish seemed quite pleased with this development and turned to chase after the plant, inching forward as quickly as a fish out of water could manage. It maneuvered itself so it could reach the plant, ignoring the net that tried to contain it and nibbled on the plant rather happily. It appeared to settle down for now, but was that enough for the fish to remain truly captured?

It took a bit of doing, but you finally got the pinball in the bucket- along with some other things! ...Now you just have to figure out what to do with it. (You have tamed the creature!)

Leafy was willing to find out. She scooped the fish into the bucket, making sure to have a firm grip on the fish this time. This would be her best catch of the trip and she didn't want to risk losing it. James watched intently, his body rigid as he anticipated the fish leaping free from the bucket. But once Leafy placed the plant alongside it, the fish seemed to calm down. She quickly whipped up something to cover the bucket which should help keep things contained. When the commotion had settled, Leafy took a moment to give James a quick pat on the head. He had done a good job in helping her get the fish into the bucket. With her find secured, the two could try and catch some more fish. But before she did, she decided to quickly take stock of her fishing supplies and decide on which to use next.

She had a few boxes bait worms, which she seemed to have quite a bit of success with. Deciding that she would use them again, she hooked them onto her line and cast the rod into the river. James followed her, sniffing around at the edge of the water. Leafy began to reel in the line once more, hoping that the movement would draw the attention of any nearby fish. She didn't have any success and she only managed to pull up an empty line. Frowning, Leafy hooked another bait worm onto the end.
“Alright boy let’s see what we can catch!” she exclaimed.
James moved close to the water, deciding to scout out an area that he thought Leafy she cast in. He padded down the river for a few meters before giving out a short bark to call the girl over to him. She complied and brought the fishing rod with her.

When she arrived next to him, James pointed his nose towards the water, watching intently as he looked for signs of movement. Leafy's eyes followed his gaze, looking for anything that he might have seen. Deciding that area would be the ideal place to cast, Leafy quickly did so and watched as the line hit the water. She held the fishing rod steady and kept her eyes on the bobber. James peered into the water, wondering when the fish would bite. Leafy had a feeling that it was going to take a while. The water was treacherous, and it made it difficult to control her fishing rod. She got herself in a better position, so she wasn't constantly at risk of having the fishing rod ripped straight from her hands. This seemed to help with her concentration as well, making it much easier for her to remain calm and composed as she waited for a fish to bite.

She felt a sudden tug on the line and Leafy gave the fishing rod a hard yank in order to get it out of the water. She reeled in the line quickly, not wanting whatever had bitten it to escape. She reeled in the line quickly, not wanting whatever had bitten it to escape. Her efforts were wasted as she pulled up an empty line. It must have gotten snagged on something. Leafy sighed, knowing that it would take more time to catch another fish. She had no other ideas in mind, and she decided to simply try again. Since they had seen movement, there was certainly activity about in this section of the river. James decided to explore for a bit and headed further down. He tried to stick his snout into the river, but the rapid current deterred him. He thought for a moment about flying and trying to hover over the water.

Maybe from up high, he could see fish and be able to call Leafy over. That sounded like a good idea! He spread his wings, eager to give it a try. He looked over at the girl, but she appeared to be distracted for now. She had pulled the fishing line out from the water and was busy applying more worms to the hook at the end. The Vulticus took to the air and flapped his wings hard. He felt the air a bit awkwardly under his wings, not having flown in quite some time. It took him a bit, but he managed to fly around in a circle before landing once again. For the moment, he was too rusty to attempt to hover over the water and decided not to try. Instead, he trotted over towards Leafy and waited for her to finish applying the worms. Maybe she would have more luck with some bait. She cast her line and settled in to wait.
