The stallion takes the delicious pink crisp apple half in his mouth from Renathan as gently as possible while Renathan watches with awe. He had no idea of the mechanism for it; but as soon as the stallion had stepped up out of the water his body reflected the purple sheen again momentarily; and had shifted into mist instead. That was giving him ideas for later, after all! Renathan allows him to have his treat, and then leads him away from the water. He calls out the command again; the whistling wind noise, and the stallion slips into the air just as easily as he had the water. Renathan was still mesmerized by this! He once again offers an apple piece to the stallion for his good work, and then he repeats this as soon as the treat is devoured. The stallion was performing excellently well; beautifully even. Renathan continued repeating this training until the midday was done; about four o'clock and the exhausted pair was sitting down on top of a rock near the water; resting a bit before continuing. This was a long training day, after all. Renathan was pleased with their progress thusfar, especially on the intangibility thing. They finally go home, content with their day.

Renathan was ready to do at least one more piece of training today; he'd been putting it off for a while since they had so much to work on still. However, he knew that he would be working very hard to do all of the things he wanted to do lately; so he thought he might as well get this over with today. Shy Guy is not quite used to being lead to his personal training field anymore; but he follows without too much of an issue. Renathan finally takes his reins and leads him into the corral; before closing the door. The first thing he wanted to train was to somehow get him to stop and stay in a single spot if he dropped his reins. That way the creature could be left in a certain area unbound for the night whenever they were out of the usual areas they frequented.

Renathan was quiet today; he wanted to get this part done as quickly as possible. He takes the reins that his equillion had attached to his hackamore in his hand gently and leads him out to the center of the field. Then, he makes a big display of dropping them in one spot on the ground, and walking away. He turns around after a few paces and realizes that the equillion has began following him. He raises his hand and puts it to the creature's nose, stopping him. He'd already had this planned out for a good while, thank goodness, but it was still going to be a chore today to complete it. Renathan then grabbed the equillion's reins, and dropped them very specifically in one spot again. The stallion looks down this time, at the reins, but still looks after Renathan as Renathan begins walking off. He makes a snorting noise, obviously trying to figure out what to do.

Renathan walks a few paces and then turns around; the stallion was still attempting to follow him! Renathan shakes his head, and places his palm gently against the stallion's muzzle to communicate to him to stop. Then he takes the reins in his hand and drops them, looking very pointedly into the stallion's eyes. Then, he turns around, and takes a few steps, turns back around and boops the stallion on the nose gently with his palm, trying to force him to stay still, and then walks away. Renathan walks another few paces, and then turns around; this time he is quite happy to see that the stallion has no in fact moved from that spot at all; though he has watched Renathan with a close eye the entire time; seeing as he had his neck turned to watch him. That was definitely good! Renathan turns around, already taking out a piece of apple for the stallion.

Renathan quickly withdraws a piece of the crisp pink apple from his pouch to give to the equillion stallion; happy to see the stallion having actually performed the first amount of the training for this particular behavior. The stallion takes the apple piece with relish as soon as it is offered, looking quite pleased with himself if Renathan did have to say so himself. Renathan did really love his creatures, so he was happy to see them succeed. Renathan watched the stallion eat for a moment, and picked up his reins happily. After the stallion finished his apple piece; Renathan lead the stallion to another part of the corral and then pointedly dropped the reins and stepped away. He walked a few paces before turning back around to look at the stallion and see how the stallion reacted; Renathan was beyond happy to see that the creature had not moved. The stallion did tend to learn things quite quickly using the treating method!

Renathan decided to give the stallion another piece of apple before continuing on; to really make the stallion understand the situation. Shy Guy accepts the apple piece happily and munches on it quickly. Renathan grins beneath his mask, pleased with their work so far. He then repeated the process a few times, taking the reins and then dropping them and walking away; each time a little farther. He really wanted to push this until he couldn't be seen anymore, after all! He was able to walk all the way across the corral without the stallion moving by the time that he decides to really test this behavior on the stallion. Renathan leads the stallion around the corral a few times and then he proceeds to drop the reins, and then run as far away as he could do quickly; leaping the coral and then running into the field and hiding behind a stone. He waits about five minutes, and then returns. He is very pleased to see the stallion standing in the center of the field; where he was left on the reins! Renathan treats him to a half of a crisp pink apple for the success. Renathan was pleased with the quick training session that day and the two left not long afterward.

Renathan was back a single day later; he was hoping to get the battle training at least mostly completed for his equillion. He leads the Equillion to the corral without any difficulty at all; it was really nice to have a creature that didn't give him any trouble! Most of his other creatures were still in the trouble-giving stage... However, Shy Guy was a lot less troublesome now. He opens the gate and allows the stallion to enter the corral, before entering it himself and closing the door. This first piece of work was going to be quite difficult, but he hoped to get it rather quickly, as before he had. Renathan pets the equillion on the nose- happy to see that the stallion was already pretty focused. Most of his well trained creatures quickly learned that once they were being worked on one-on-one that there was treats to be had if they did things correctly.

Renathan quickly begins pondering on how he was going to get the equillion to make that screeching noise again that he made previously- it seems like the stallion had only made the noise previously when he was challenging something; perhaps it was just a part of his growth recently- some kind of 'kelpie' thing? He had no idea what to think about that, but he knew that the creature would make the noise on command if he was able to associate the situation with the apple pieces, as always. Renathan decides that he needed to find a way to possibly antagonize the creature until it made the noise perhaps? He didn't want to crack out an RoT specifically for this reason when they had come through so far without one! He preferred training creatures without RoT's. Renathan finishes petting the stallion's nose and then he steps back, cradling his chin. Huh, what was he going to do here?

Renathan knew that bringing the jibiji today would probably scare her; and he didn't want to associate Shy Guy with fear for Auburn since he planned to go exploring with the two of them at some point. He figured that bringing her would not have helped with the whole making the equillion screech thing since she was so small; but perhaps that would have been a better idea than nothing at all? Renathan wasn't sure what to do without making the equillion hate him, but he knew that he'd have to get something working really soon or he'd risk losing the equillion's rapt attention. Renathan steps back and begins deciding on a command that was easy to remember for the screeching noise. In battle, Renathan had been hard-proved-to in the past that a noise-related interrupter was incredibly important for most battles, so this was mandatory, even before learning any other attacks or other dodges.

Renathan decides after a second or two that the command would be a long whistle followed by a sharp quick one; something quick and loud that would be suitable for pit matches and situations where the equillion would not be watching Renathan. This would be good for their uses, he figures. Renathan now had to try something to get the equillion to make the screeching noise in the first place without causing too many issues... Renathan had to act quickly though, so he draws the equillion's attention again by making the whistle. The stallion of course had no idea what to do with it since that command hadn't been taught yet, but he knew he was supposed to be doing something or another. Renathan then walks up to the stallion and decides to make a screeching noise himself. It wasn't very good; but it was the best he could do. Undoubtedly, anyone passing by in the park would probably think that mammalians making false raptor-screeches was pretty strange.

The stallion looks at Renathan with a confused-looking expression, his head turned slightly to the side. Renathan could almost have laughed at the silly expression, if he wasn't being so serious! There were things that needed to be done now; he wanted to train at least three different things today, hopefully anyway. He might only begin to get two things done, but he was really hoping for three. Renathan makes the whistling noise again, and waits on the equillion. The stallion stares at him for a moment, blue eyes blank but glittery in the morning light. Renathan was not sure whether it would be more damaging to try it again, or make the noise again. Renathan then makes the whistle again, and then makes the screech again. The equillion flips his head over to the side, and he noses Renathan on the face to try to make sure that he wasn't hurt or anything. Renathan did chuckle, this time.

Renathan pets the stallion's nose before gently pushing it away, now was not the time for snuggles! It was the time for training. This was serious! Renathan could hardly keep his own mind on the training with these antics. Renathan then quickly worked to get the creature's attention again by running him through some older commands that were quick and easy. There we go; after gathering the correct amount of attention again Renathan begins working on the screeching noise again, this time making the noise instead of the command. This got the creature's attention, the stallion flipped an ear back and then forward again, signalling confusion at first. Then, he made a strange keening sound; not quite the screech but still good. Yes, that was what he was wanting! Renathan handed the stallion a single piece of the crisp pink apple, and then he waited for him to finish it. He wanted the creature to do better next time.

Renathan was by no means a beginner creature trainer by this point, though he still considered himself rather mediocre. He was still learning about different situations and creatures, there were people living here in the labs that were really strong creature tamers that made Renathan feel somewhat inadequate. He really hoped to do much better in the future! Moments like these made him remember that he was still learning when it came to creatures and training in general. Renathan quickly took advantage of this however, despite feeling a bit ridiculous, and made the screech again; louder this time. The equillion responds with another similar noise to the last time, but Renathan refuses to give him an apple for that sad excuse of a noise. The equillion is stubborn, so he makes another, slightly louder noise. Renathan challenges this with an even louder one of his own; only to be topped by the equillion's louder almost-screech.

Renathan could tell that they were making somewhat of a breakthrough here, so Renathan musters all of the breath that he can, standing in the middle of the corral looking pretty ridiculous. Then, he lets out the absolute loudest, shrillest noise that he could; this was rewarded with that pure, shrill, spine-freezing screech from the equillion, accompanied with a rearing-up on his back legs. Renathan could not be more pleased! Renathan quickly gives the stallion a half of a crisp pink apple, happy to see the good example. Renathan then waits for the stallion to eat the apple while petting his nose and down his flank. He was very glad that things were going well right now! However, there were other issues; namely being that he wasn't sure how to translate this to the whistle now... That he'd been using the growling noise to help the training get started. He'd really have to think about that one!

Renathan thinks for a moment, and then makes the whistling noise again- a long one and then a short sharp one. The stallion looks confused for just a moment, one ear forward and the other back, and then he seems to decide to at least try something. This pair had been working together for a long time, after all, and the stallion had began at this point to understand that the whistles meant commands; and whenever they were working if he repeated a previous action that he'd done just before the whistle, that it meant he'd get an apple. Creatures with relatively average intelligence were in no way stupid; they tended to be able to pick up on patterns and such. Renathan was delighted to see the stallion rear up again, and release a super loud screeching noise that stopped Renathan's breath for a moment. It was very frightening to hear the equine-like creature screech like that!
