Bridle Knowledge - 10
Jack spent the rest of the day testing out the bridle commands, she could work on the rest of the mount training the next day, she figured with a little smile on her face as she thought about it. She didn't know what she was going to do and that was alright she figured as she finally dismounted and led him over to the trough full of water again. Then again, she didn't know why she dismounted, she was going to ride him home. Man was she tired, and she didn't really understand why, it just didn't make sense to her for some reason. Oh well, maybe it was the fresh spring air, she wasn't used to it anymore for all of the winter that had happened the past season. Giving a chuckle, she mounted the halfbreed again and started to ride him home, they'd work on the rest of the mount training the next day.

Fly - 1
Well this was considered mount training, right? At least for an animal of this size, of course a person was going to ride him through the air. If anyone knew Jack well enough, she would ride the thing too, as long as it was big enough. She grinned and pulled on a pair of gloves, not that she really needed them, but it would be nice for her hands not to be chaffed too badly by the wind. "Ergo, fly!" Jack said after getting on his back. She moved her hands to the joints of his wings and pumped them up and down to demonstrate what she wanted him to do, but he just pulled them away after awhile of the work. Sure he didn't mind her moving his bits and pieces, but that didn't mean he was okay with her doing it for extended periods of time. He supposed at least, with his dead eyes, and Jack wondered what he was thinking, and whether or not she should give him a Ribbon.

Fly - 2
He would get it eventually, she knew that he would, but until then she was going to have to annoy him a little, if that was even possible at this point. Jack sighed a little and stretched out her back as she sat in the saddle and wondered what she was going to do whenever he learned how to fly. He needed a few specific commands as well, but she didn't know what order to train them in, it was going to be rough, but at least she had an idea of what to do, right? Smiling a little, she repeated the command, "Fly, Ergo!" As she pumped his wings up and down, he seemed to understand that he at least needed to move his wings, but that was it. He pulled them from her hands and lazily pumped them up and down, definitely not getting any air under them to fly with. Oh well, at least he understood a little bit.

Fly - 3
Jack wasn't sure where to go with this just yet, she'd never trained one to fly while she was on their back, at least from what she could remember. Chances were she had, but there was no way of making sure at this point. Chuckling at herself, she reached down for his wings again, this time pumping them harder than before, "Fly, Ergo!" Ergo pulled his wings away to do it on his own, wondering why the woman wanted him to move his wings like this. He didn't have parents to teach him how to fly, he only knew about the woman in the world, and now he was seeing more people, and his blank expression gave away none of his emotions of knowing more about the world outside of the kennel. As he pumped his wings the same way the woman had done it, he wondered what the point of this was. Jack thought about just riding him off a cliff, she could hover in the air if she needed to of course.

Fly - 4
Well it was a thought at least, and if Ergo didn't get what was going on before too long she was sure she would have to resort to that type of training. For now though she hoped he would figure it out on his own, as odd as that might sound coming from her. She liked putting her animals through their paces, figuring a little panic might make them learn. Nothing dangerous, nothing she couldn't protect the two of them from or anything, but that's what it was. "Come on Ergo, fly!" she told him again, patting him on the neck. The halfbreed started to pump his wings again, harder and harder when she didn't give him any treats. He knew treats meant he was doing something good, and she had only given him some bugs whenever he did this harder and harder. It was rough for him to figure out, but at least he was figuring it out.

Fly - 5
Ergo got a treat of some bugs when he pumped his wings harder and harder. His blank eyes stared back at the woman for a moment before he turned his head back forward and stared off into the distance. While he was food motivated, he seemed more like a robot than an animal really. Jack sighed a little and rubbed the halfbreed's short mane for a moment before giving him the command again, "Fly, Ergo!" It was a good thing he'd learned his name so quickly she figured with a little smile on her face. She watched as he pumped his wings harder and harder before getting a little lift under them and getting a few inches off of the ground. It surprised him, not too far fetched of a thought really, and he dropped back down to the ground, making the sound of a bell when he landed on his sore foot. Jack rubbed his neck happily and gave him some extra juicy bugs for that one, "Good fly, Ergo!"

Fly - 6
Maybe he would get this a little faster than she originally thought, that certainly wouldn't be a bad thing she figured with a smile on her face. At the same time, the longer it took, the better he would be at it in the long run. She frowned a little and thought about it, wondering just how much time they should spend on this at the moment, but that was something she could kind of keep at the back of her mind at the moment. Jack gave him the command again after he finished his snack with his sideways mouth, "Ergo, fly!" He bobbed his head a moment and then flapped his wings hard again so that he came a few inches off of the ground and wondered what else he was supposed to do. Jack chewed on her lips for a moment and patted him on the side as they hovered there a moment before he got tired and dropped back down.

Fly - 7
What came next when it all came down to it? Jack smiled a little as she figured it out and gave him the command again. As long as he was a little above the ground, she was going to call it a win. Still smiling, perhaps a little maniacally, she gave him the command again, "Ergo, fly!" After giving him the command and seeing they were in the air, she then gave the command to go forward. Ergo was confused and it showed in his dead eyes for a moment or two before he shook his head and dropped to the ground before moving forward a few paces. Jack sighed a little and pulled him to a stop before running a hand through her hair. Still, she gave him some treats, it wasn't what she wanted, but it was close and technically he did what he knew it meant, so she couldn't really be mad at him too much.

Fly - 8
Okay, he was going to have to do this right if they were going to move on eventually to something different, something new. She hadn't really trained some of the flying tricks before, and she figured this was a good place to start, see if she wanted to bother doing it with her Sarane eventually or something. Jack pushed a hand through her hair again and then gave him the command he was waiting for, "Fly, Ergo!" The halfbreed got himself a little ways into the air before she flicked the reins to get him to go forward. His wings angled a little like they were supposed to and he pumped his wings once, twice, and moved forward a little bit before he dropped back to the ground, a little unsure if that's what he was supposed to do in the long run or what. But the woman surprised him and gave him some big, fat bugs to munch on for a little while, and he heard her laughing some, which confused him to no end.

Fly - 9
Okay, so he knew how to fly and go forward if she commanded him to, but she didn't know if that meant they were done yet or not. Probably not, she wasn't necessarily pleased with his performance just yet, and she knew it would take a little while longer for them to get this down. She was sure his wings were getting tired, they weren't used to being used, which was a shame, but the more he worked, the stronger they would become, and she would push him until he was strong, she just knew it. Jack had a determined look on her face as she gave him the command again followed by the forward command. Ergo did just as she asked, flying in the air a little ways off of the ground and then moving forward toward the fence of the corral. She didn't know what was going to happen then, but at least it was something.

Fly - 10
As they neared the fence, the halfbreed shied away a little bit and dropped to the ground again before they reached it. Jack still called it a win for the moment though, at least for now until they learned a few more things in the air. She smiled and gave him some bugs and patted him on the side before letting him know he had done well for her so far. At least she was pleased with his progress now, that had to count for something. "Very good fly, Ergo," she told him, then leaned forward against his neck, resting for a moment while she tried to decide what to make him learn next. He knew how to fly, but was he brave enough to go higher? That was certainly a good question, and one she was going to have to figure out the answer to if she was going to get him to be a half decent mount, even with his lack of expression and emotion.

Higher - 1
Jack sat on Ergo's back for a moment trying to figure out how to teach this next trick. She wanted him to fly higher than he already was, so she figured a quick pull of the reins up for a moment would help him out, but she wasn't sure it was actually going to work. Giving a little sigh, she patted him on the side and then shook her head, she didn't know if this was going to work, but hey, at least she was trying it out right? She gave him the command to fly and then pulled up on the reins a little when he got some air under his feet, aiming him at the fence again, wondering if that was going to work out. While she really didn't know what she was doing with this training, she could muddle through it a little bit, right? That was the hope, at least...

Higher - 2
Ergo fought against the reins for a moment before he pushed up a little higher. He faltered at the fence, however, and dropped back to the ground to angle around and move inside of the fence. Jack sighed a little but still gave him some bugs to make sure he knew he had done well for a moment at least, though she didn't give him a lot of them to start off with, which was fine. Ergo still knew he'd done something well and good, but he wondered what it was at the same time. Jack smiled a little and patted him on the side before giving him the command again and smiling when he was airborne. Jack wasn't sure what she was going to do with him just yet, but that was alright she figured with a determined nod. What was her final goal with this guy anyway? Was he going to be mainly a mount? A fighter? What was going on?

Ergo wasn't sure about this new training, he didn't know why the woman kept aiming him at the fence, what was the point in that? That was supposed to keep him in, not let him out, or at least that's what he assumed of the fence around the corral he was in. Jack pushed her hair back and smiled a little bit, wondering what she was going to have to do to get him to understand things. Maybe a Ribbon would be the best thing to give him, though she wasn't sure she wanted to give him one just yet when she wasn't sure what she was going to have him do during the end game. She gave him the command to fly again and then pulled up on the reins lightly so he moved his head up and then the rest of his body in the air, so far so good! Jack gave him some bugs as he hovered in the air a moment, but the bugs distracted him and he dropped back to the ground.

Maybe she wasn't trying this hard enough, or well enough to get things going. She didn't know she supposed, but she patted him on the side all the same and then gave him the fly command yet again, smiling when he went into the air easily enough as time went on. Jack knew he was just going to get better and better at it as they all went along with the training, and she hoped that things were going to be easy as time went on. She just wished she knew if she should give him a Ribbon or not, that was the hardest part of the whole thing. As he was in the air, she pulled up on the reins again and he went a little higher into the air, though he still faltered when they got to the fence. He didn't understand why they were headed toward it and all that, and she hoped that things were going to be alright in the end of it all.
