Skylos didn't expect to be standing here most of the day; apparently the fights are back to back now? He didn't mind that. Kitri doesn't seem to be winded yet; she's still very interested in the lingering odors that must soak the sands below. There's...something slightly uneasing about this place for him and he's not sure why. Well, he should keep this in mind. There's a handful more, and they seem to be old, dressed rich, and wearing... long-eared hats. What? Until he hears the introduction for his opponent. Oh, that made sense of the appearance of those who he'd more see in the rich side of town. Which reminds him, didn't he have an orbaru too?

Most of her opponents so far had been species she was familiar with. Even the ones she didn't know too well, she was still able to recognize them. Until this one. It was some sort of hound, and even its name seemed ominous.
Nina watched carefully as Laputa took her place in the pit. She would have to take a cautious approach with this one. That dripping substance looked especially dangerous. Despite her almost impossibly sturdy form, Laputa was still vulnerable to things like acid and poison. Nina reminded herself to focus on the battle, and not spend too much time trying to figure out her opponent's anatomy.

Well thats an interesting thing; Skylos hasn't done too much book reading on certain breeds of creatures but he's never seen... what looks like a pile of gems glued together and walking around like that. And if the glint across the pit by spotlight didn't fool his cat eyes, thats...not a person, or even an animalfolk whos controlling it. A big silver and lavender metalloid with blue lights; he's a complete stranger to machines; those are rich people things. But were they here as a proxy?

The strange hound lifted its muzzle to howl, but was interrupted by Laputa's quaking stomps. The dripping beast seemed startled by what was happening, which was just what she had intended. Considering how slow Laputa was relative to most creatures, they had to do something to catch their opponents off guard. Otherwise she was just a sitting duck waiting for someone to break a tooth on her crystals. Not wanting to waste the advantage she had gained, Nina instantly called out the next command. Laputa was very diligent about following commands, though not always the fastest on the uptake. Hopefully she'd be able to get a hit in before her opponent could remember why she was here.

She's not quite sure why the loud noisy pile of rocks even made that noise. was it saying hello? Bark bark! The booms make the ground shake, almost like a little jump. SHe bounces on the pads of her feet, eager to play with the noisy pile of rocks. And it comes forth and starts trying to... pat her?
Its a bit harder of a pat then she's used to. Her favorite cat has soft paws and is very gentle with his pats. Like its bulky paws on the pile of rocks rain down and she has to shrug it off. Thats...a bit hard. Yeah.
She can play rough too.

Nina watched the movements of the canine, looking for an opportunity to strike. When one arrived, she called out, "Laputa, smash!"
Laputa knew how to smash. She knew it very well. It was one of the first things she had ever learned, in fact. She reared up on her back legs, swinging her arms out at her opponent. Once she made contact, crystal crashing into fur, she instantly came in with the other fist. One. Two. Three punches in quick succession.
Once the dust settled, the beast looked more or less fine. Well, she was tougher than she looked. Time for another round.

She doesn't like the big rock's idea of pets. Their pets are very hard. Almost like hits instead of pets. So she puts a big glob of drool in its direction and maybe did something to disuade the harsh pats. Much prefers cat friend's softer pats.
It was big, rocky and he's not sure what ot make of the living stone beast. He's seen acid drooling dogs and land clams, so why not living stones? She seems to have some osrt of effective idea on what to do now against the giant, as Skylos watches Kitri try to problem solve this. He doesn't really know how he'd even give her directions anywhow.

Laputa unleashed another a flurry of blows. Her crystal fists smashed into fur, but again her opponent seemed mostly unbothered. Not many creatures could stand comfortably toe to toe with the living crystal, but this one was proving to be quite tough. Laputa didn't mind, really, but Nina was quite annoyed. Not that anyone could tell given her blank expression.
Nina was just about to call out her next command when she noticed Laputa flinch away from the beast. Not a common sight, as Laputa was difficult to harm. She caught a glimpse of acid burning its way into the crystal. Not good.
"Stay focused, Laputa, you got this!" she called out, hoping the encouragement would help.

Laputa came in surprisingly quickly for another strike, slowly but surely beating down her opponent. The foe spat back, dribbling more acid onto her. The acid sunk into the crystals, eroding them away. Nina flinched, clearly worried about Laputa, a creature who was nearly impossible to damage. Was it painful? She hoped that Laputa could knock down her opponent before the acid burned all the way through.
"Good job, Laputa!" Nina shouted from the stands. The golem briefly looked up at her, pleased that her beloved owner gave her praise. She would do anything for Nina, and if this is what she wanted, then this is what she would do. "Keep it up, I know you can do it!"

This is something he did know. Everyone that came into contact with Kitri's drool, himself included, REALLY HURT afterwards. And the giant living stone is no exception. They seem to be doing 'something'. Acid erodes rock. Good to know. "Kitri, your spit is the key." he tells her. "rocks don't like being spat on." At least thats what he's seeing.
The worginu shrugs her wholloped shoulder with A drooly growl. That wasn't very nice. At least she is willing to let up on her play fights. But she spits at it again and the rock really doens't like that. Well two can play at the play rough.
