This was a bad idea. Every single time Silver approached this shop, they walked away with more than they had anticipated. All they wanted was a gift for a friend. It should be easy, right? They walked into the door and softly muttered a greeting to Chance. They had heard the big black Vulticus growl enough times to greet him as though he owned the place. In his mind, he probably did.
Silver tried to ignore the abundance of creatures available as they searched for the gift they wanted. It was hard to turn their gaze away from such charming new friends. By the time they got to the counter, they thought they had done pretty well. They had only tripled their initial list. It could have gone much worse, indeed.
"H-hello there," Silver said. "I want... would like to buy, ah, well I have a list," they explained, placing it on the counter for the shopkeeper to see. Thankfully they had prepared for this possibility and had a plan for their return home with their new purchase.

Chance seemed to appreciate the stranger's attempt to address him and quit grumbling pretty quickly. He always let his owner know when someone walked in the store, as was his duty, but he had no reason to keep growling after that. Mavrik leaned on the counter, stopping what he was doing for a moment while waiting for the new customer to look around.
When they turned over the list, he grinned and said, "All together, that'll be 1,300 credits." He would ask if the customer even had that much on them, but he figured they wouldn't have asked if they didn't.
