Renathan had honest need to go into most of the shops at the moment; but not really enough time to do it all at once either. He'd first considered doing his herbologists' shop run first; but decided ultimately to wait since he still would need potions for his creatures in the future; consolidating the trip would help him in the long run, he figured. He was not coming to the Zoological Imports today to sell creatures; unlike normal; instead he was here to buy a specific type of creature that he'd heard that the shopkeeper had. He was quite as he steps to the door; raising his hand and touching the door to open it. He lowers his head, and then raises a hand in a greeting. "Greetings." It's a single word, but it should help. "I heard you may have some dragons here? Little ones, of course." Yes, little dragons. He wanted to see one; and maybe pick one up if they interested him? His jibiji hangs out in his neck fur's braids, clinging as per the usual. He couldn't really go anywhere without her, could he?
x1 Carnival Ling-Ling (800 credits)

The shopkeeper was in the back this time, feeding one of the smaller creatures some kibble. Dealing with all of these creatures was honest work, and hard work if he did say so himself. He could smell the customer before Chance even growled this time; definitely another mammalian. There was something about mammalian fur that was easy to pick up. He raises up, and dusts himself off, squinting and crinkling his old fox-ears. The light from the doorway was certainly making it a little hard, but he could see the raised hand of the greeting, he supposed. He immediately begins dusting crumbs off of his clawed hands and onto his work pants. The customer was very short spoken it seemed, a simple greeting and then immediately in to what he was after. He squints behind the customer to make sure he isn't seeing any pets; pets mean sales of course. No, it seemed that this customer wanted to buy only.
"Ah, yes. You must be talking about the ling-ling. Unless you want a wiurn? I have those too. None small though." He did have a big white wiurn that may interest the antlered mammalian, but he figured that since he said small-dragons he was meaning the ling-ling. He motions for the staglike being to follow him, and he takes him to the well-kept enclosure of his signature species; the ling-ling. Inside the enclosure several flashes of color could be seen; playing and otherwise socializing; and a few asleep. "Fast little buggers, and most are lucky too." He adds, and then stretches out an arm to scoop one up on a whim. He isn't sure what color he has picked up, but he pets the creature, trying to impart a sense of ease with caretaking.
The shopkeeper here actually surprised him a little; he wasn't expecting to see him in the back there. He was a mammalian that somewhat resembled him; just one semi-elderly-looking bushy tail; and shorter ears with differently colored fur. However, he was obviously canid-looking; with that muzzle and those teeth. "Ling... Ling. That sounds right." Renathan lowers his head, his eyes looking up from beneath his mask's eye slits. He flourishes his sashes, petting his small jibiji at his neck, and follows the shopkeeper over to the creatures interestedly. He peers down into the enclosure curiously; a tilt of his head and flick of his ear. Could he... Could he pick them up? He watches as the shopkeeper picks one up; a bright pink one with beautiful fluoresces of color that looked quite nuanced. Little streaks of blue, green, white, and black dart about in the enclosure playfully.
Renathan's eyes are on the nice purple-y one instead, that was in the shopkeepers arm. He grins beneath his mask, and asks, demurely, his arms outstretched. "Can I hold 'em?" He's smiling already, their little faces were absolutely adorable; little snoots and big eyes! They were certainly adorable, and he loves dragons.
Mavrik had not been expecting the customer to take so well to the specific one he had in his arms; there were lots of others in the enclosure. Sure, he was a little lower on stock on these purple ones, but all the rest were just as shiny. He turns to the mammalian customer and hands the purple ling ling to him without any difficulty. These were very small creatures, they were not ungainly despite their long bodies. He then bends down and scoops up another; a river ling ling, perhaps he could make a sell on that one and a friend for it as well? "They are designed to be friendly; that fella there that you're holding? Those take to new owners incredibly well." He holds the river ling ling without any issue as well, running a hand along it to boot. "Friendly sociable creatures, of the finest the labs have to offer. Only my shop sells them." He's pushing the sale pretty hard; but it hadn't seemed to bother anyone before.
Renathan doesn't mind that the shopkeep is pushing this quite a bit; he came here for the little dragons, after all. He scoops the pink dragonlet up with ease from the shopkeep, practiced due to his own creatures. He was used to small and somewhat ungainly shaped animals after all. The shopkeeper picked up another of the little dragons, a blue one this time, and Renathan gives it a look while he was holding the purple one in his hands. The blue ones were gorgeous too, but nothing really beat out this pinkish purple one. He holds the little ling ling in his hands and pulls it up to his face to look at it directly in it's huge cute eyes. "Well, hello there little one." He coos at it a little bit. Yes, he already loved it. He was definitely going to buy this one. As tempting as it was to buy two of these fellas... And he would definitely buy one of the blue ones if he did...
"I'll take this purple ling-ling here. I'm sold on him entirely." He grins softly to himself. He gives a quick stroke to the blue one, settling the pink one in his other arm while he does for a quick second. "That guy's nice but I have a companion for this guy already." He's holds the purple ling-ling, and uses the now free hand to fish out his credit pouch.
Well, that was a bust. The customer only wanted the one ling ling, which was certainly still good (the one that the customer had chosen was the most expensive) but he'd hoped to get rid of one of these as well. Ah well, he could sell one of these river ling lings at a different point. He good-naturedly takes the ling ling he has in his hands and gives it a quick pet, mostly for show, and then places the creature down into the enclosure gently. He wants his stock to be as healthy as possible. He then turns his attention to the customer, and is pretty glad to see the customer holding the creature so carefully. He always wanted to find good homes for his stock, if possible. "That is a Carnival Ling Ling, it's 800 credits, unless you happen to have a gem drake or gem dragon. If you do we could trade." Seeing as the mammalian had already began to find his credits, he figured that he didn't have anything with him to trade. He was honestly pretty happy with the credits anyway; if the high price the creature commanded didn't run the customer off. Eight-Hundred credits was by no means cheap, but these creatures were not common by any stretch of the meaning.
Renathan was, unsurprisingly enough, unfazed by the price on the creature. "I don't have any gem-drakes currently; but I don't mind the price." He was strange about buying animals; this culture of bartering made no sense to him here; but perhaps it would in the far future. He uses his free hand to search in his pouch, holding the docile ling ling on the other hand, and his little jibiji in his mane holding on as she typically did to ride. He retrievers a few of the more high-denomination of credit pieces, and then hands them over one by one to the shopkeep until the price is doled out in full. He then re-situates the ling ling like a prize in his arms, crossing them gently underneath all four of the creature's legs to make it more comfortable. "Thank you." He spoke, politely. He figured that today was a good day after all; he hadn't expected them to be this cute!
Mavrik takes the credits as they are counted out and re-counts them. Then he glances over the customer for a moment as he re-situates the ling ling. This customer was certainly surprising, but now that he pays more attention it isn't quite as shocking that he was just handed these higher denominations instead of the more common smaller ones. The mammalian appears to be quite moneyed, seeing as he wore quite ornate clothing. Mavrik pockets the credits and nods to he customer. "Is there anything else I can do for you?" His voice was certainly hopeful; perhaps the customer would buy something else while they were here? "I have lots of different creatures that only we sell. Perhaps an imported Eblouir? Or a sweet little Kibol- ours are guaranteed leucistic." The fox mammalian figured that he might as well try; he hadn't had as lucrative a customer that wasn't trying to sell him something in a while, so he wanted to capitalize on this. He looks back over the shop towards some of the enclosures for these creatures; his kibol might also be about this mammalian's speed?
Renathan is not bothered by the slight salesman-pitch push of the shopkeeper; he'd probably have done the same thing had he actually been a shopkeeper himself. He smiles beneath the mask but also shakes his head. "I think this guy already set me back enough today; but I will definitely be back in the future." He is sure of that; either to sell creatures or buy them, actually. He didn't want to specify, however. He gives a final bow to the shopkeeper, awkwardly moving the ling ling but still keeping careful holds on it, and then gently raised up. He wasn't too sure what an eb...lower was, or a kibol for that matter. He may just have to check next time! Renathan carefully makes sure that the creatures are carefully held near him before he begins to leave, waving to the shopkeeper on his way out. It was good to keep friendly airs about one in the city; the city certainly required lots of good social standing, it was sometimes tough.
Well, that was that it seemed. Mavrik quickly counts through the credits he was given once as he was being given them and once to make sure. It was odd to not be bartered with, as most people tried to wheedle him down on large purchases like this one. Credits were not often easy to come by in this kind of amount. It made it more likely that folks would trade gem creatures for this particular creature, but he certainly wasn't going to turn down credits in that kind of sum! Mavrik watches as the customer leaves the store, and then turns to continue what he had been doing previously; feeding creatures. The ling ling that were left had been the next to feed anyway, so he dips his hand into the feed bag and quietly fills up the bowls. He sometimes wondered about the kinds of people that became beast tamers nowadays. At least he turned quite the profit today!
Twilight-Claw: Hey Ridelys, I still got a Sarane Fidelity Egg if your interested in trading your Green Drake for it, you'd have another shot in trying for it then.
