It was surprising how soon after she swore she was finished with pachee for the month that the satyr found herself hefting another set of carriers into the breeding center. Apparently it couldn't be helped, she'd been warned they were addicting! Not thoroughly enough, by the looks of it. Getting more and more of the little creatures phazed her less when they weren't intended to stay in her back yard forever, that was for certain. She was gathering a legitimate little collection of them, and they looked lovely so far! This one, she's also unsure of the outcome - but it seems like these two should work out well! The outcome was still a bit of a mystery to Lethalia, to predict how the kits would come out... but they were bound to be cute and rather autumnal in color, right? The female pachee Autumn ought to help with that, one that the woman had chosen to use for breeding before. While the kits were beautiful, their colors were more dominated by their grey sire, resulting in more earthen coats than intended. This mix should fix that! The male was a lovely classic tiger stripes, much like the female she'd bred earlier this month. breeding| 1

There was potential for this experiment to show up interesting. Lethalia found that Autumn's colors were so lovely, she wanted to see if more of the female's colors would show through if she didn't use the berry meant for the male's genetics to show through. Jersi was lovely as all little tiger lookalikes are, and more stripes in the babies would be great. But those muted fall colors with a touch more orange would be neat to see crop up, too! It would be fun to see, how another breeding with a 'tiger' would turn out. The way she saw it, as far as this project of hers went, there was no harm in even more orange, and though she wasn't especially targeting stripes, any amount of those would be great too! Last time resulted in a pair of kits who were much less orange than she'd expected, and resulted in a female with an odd but lovely coat that looked somewhat brindled with subtle stripes and mottling together. But, if it's even possible, Jersi is a much more intense orange than Clasica, who had some attractive dark brown counter shading on her underside. His white belly makes him appear so much brighter! breeding| 2

Her pachee collection was starting to look amazing when all of the critters were with one another. Not as impressive or expansive as Jack's collection where these two hailed from, but her own group of them made it actually look like she knew what she was doing! Hopefully the small pack of color matched pachee would make as good of a gift as she'd been hoping for. Even if the colors were largely unintentional - she still hasn't found rhyme or reason on what colors are passed down. All the more reason to keep breeding the creatures, obviously. Jersi was one of the noisier pachee she's experienced so far. Though he doesn't seem distressed in his carrier, frequent vocalizations ring out from it. Sometimes he could be simply talking to himself, or wailing in general. Paranoia drove her to peer into the wire front and check on him, but the male was no worse for wear. He just had to talk or serenade all about his captivity, especially when a softer answer would occasionally come from Autumn's carrier. It was sweet that they were already talking to one another, even if she became curious about what their intermittent 'conversation' could possibly be about. breeding| 3

The freedom to just keep... making more pachee was kind of fun. Lethalia didn't find herself keeping near as many pets as most city denizens, even if she did find herself admiring those who had amassed an impressive array of the labs' critters, sometimes a handful of every single species that had ever come out. Since the pachee weren't staying in her back yard, there was something kind of fun about just producing more of them since she knew they would have a home in the end. Not having to worry about numbers in the end was a nice break from not letting anything nonessential onto her farm. One pachee still 'snuck' in to stay with her regardless of intentions. Lethalia leaned on the counter to check in again, beginning to get comfortable enough with this procedure she'd become somewhat less disturbed by the clinical aspect of it. It was still unsetting by virtue, but visiting such places with more regularity made the strangeness lessen. It still felt like it would be better to let the creatures couple outside more naturally, because... who the hell would figure out you had? The pair still 'chatted' to one another as she set the carriers down on the ground to get her paperwork done. breeding| 4

She's not sure if Autumn is just friendly, but she recalls her getting along with her companion quite easily last time - launching into playing almost immediately. Just a friendly little thing then. Jersi is being quite a bit louder, but Autumn's calmer quieter responses punctuate his chatter. Lethalia grins to herself as she whisks them away to their room, eager to let them out when they're already seeming so interested in each other. Their soft murmurings punctuated the hall as she navigated over, and once she'd set them on the floor to turn around and secure the door for them. It was only a guess they'd both been here before, given that their talking picked up significantly when the latch on the door clicked shut. "Okay, okay," she tells them, ambling over to unlatch Autumn's carrier first. "Hello again," Lethalia couldn't help but greet lightly, smiling as Autumn shook out her floral plumage to it's rightful place after being cramped in that carrier. Jersi was difficult to ignore, surprising he could get such a volume in his vocalizations without an actual mouth. He was quite offended to still be trapped when his blind date was already out and about, it simply wasn't fair! And he let it known. breeding| 5

Jersi complained with such gusto that the satyr feared for a moment that someone could come check up on the ruckus. Autumn even had to stick her nose up against his cage door, hard to tell if she was just curious over his noise or just sympathetic. Some other time or place Lethalia would be tempted to leave him in there for a few minutes; it wouldn't hurt him any to learn a little patience. In the interest of not drawing attention to their room though, she'd best let him loose before someone takes it upon themselves to investigate a distressed pachee. Autumn didn't back up much when she went to go open Jersi's carrier, and just barely dodged out of the way of the door swinging open to meet him face to face as soon as he wound his way out of the gap. After so much chatter the room falling silent all of a sudden felt quite odd, and even made Lethalia's ears begin to ring in it's absence. The pachee didn't look nearly as disturbed as they made their 'introductions' in the flesh instead of just yelling at one another. Had to be a nice change for them. breeding| 6

The little creatures settled into sniffing one another, startling a giggle out of Lethalia when their greetings ended up in a quick exchange of batting paws, just like true house cats reacting to a greeting. Jumping and winding around one another as Autumn made a run for it first, they seemed to be using their lazy play-fighting to explore the room. Their boxing would carry them to a new corner or wall to stop and explore and sniff, before their noses bumped and the match started anew. Visiting the breeding center certainly would never be the most interesting venture, but that was fine sometimes. Wasn't it? Not everything in life needed to be as dire as it had felt lately. In all truth, she needed these breaks. A reminder that life wasn't all brutality, something she'd lost sight of since the Sarane had entered her life. It didn't look likely she was going to stop inflicting herself upon the species anytime soon, she was in too far deep for that. But perhaps it only meant more visits here with some calmer pachee, or a look at creatures not built for battling one another. That could be a welcome variation instead of only dealing with the blood thirty ones on a regular basis. breeding| 7

Lethalia settled herself on her usual seat to observe, still not having brought anything to work on in the meantime. There was always busywork like mending to be done, or she could even work on learning how to knit like she'd been meaning to. Like last time though, it's hard to pas sup the opportunity to just set aside time to sit and not do much. The satyr may well drown the city in pachee just for the excuse. The critters were unsually fun enough to watch, anyway. All of their activity as soon as they were free was pretty cute, and seemed to happen with the right friendly pachee. Jersi has as much energy as she had been expecting him to have, and he wasn't much quieter either. The volume of his protests were due to being trapped, so now his vocalizations came with every springy jump and impulse to go a different direction. There were quite a few occasions she witnessed him literally bouncing off the walls, sometimes to get an edge on racing Autumn around the perimeter, or in an apparent bid to impress her. Either way he's pretty absurd but the antlered female seems to like his brand of flirting, which is what really matters. breeding| 8

It's a shame more labs creatures can't breed like this, naturally without intervention from the labs. Lethalia had become aware at some point that the offspring from the labs weren't born the 'normal' way, but she had quite little understanding of 'test-tube babies'. There'd been rumors of the labs releasing feral versions of their creations to see how they would fare in the wilder world. In theory, those would have to be fertile in order to do that. If there were still any out there with the labs' years of observable inactivity, it would prove it's success rather well. There were even feral pachee, only rumors of some kind of jungle and dragon pachee. It was hard to imagine those in comparison to these two pollen cats flirting up a storm. The labs was like that, though; whatever the scientists were up to, they loved a vicious dichotomy between their subspecies of creatures. It was kind of their thing. Autumn and Jersi had little care about her pondering or even her presence at this point. The satyr was fine with becoming as much a fixture of the room as the sparse furniture if it meant it got easier for them to relax. breeding| 9

Something materialized in mind for a moment, and Lethalia found herself almost forgetting the berries again. There weren't exactly a lot of steps in pachee breeding, beyond getting them into a room together, feeding them berries, and waiting. If a checklist was needed to get that far, she was in trouble. The satyr stepped into the middle of the room with a usual small bowl of berries for the critters, the scent already having both of their rapt attention. Even if she'd rather not disrupt their play, they seem pretty thrilled with the intrusion when it's sweets that's distracting them. Quite a few times now, the pachee she brought used play and eating together as their primary way of getting comfortable with one another. It was a pretty cute courtship ritual, and more favorable than more reserved couples. As expected, a nutrient high snack tends to set off impulses to breed, seeming as true as it is for plants as it is for animals. Their snack done and a few more playful bats, and the satyr noticed their third eyelids closing; a few more dancing strikes at one another, and Jersi had beat his tail on the ground to loose his tiger-orange pollen for the first time. There would be plenty to follow in the play that continued for some time. breeding| 10
