Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is the August 22nd. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 3 days to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 3 day deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

Yes *Special!* Chosen extra move *Special! *: Maul (4) The mammalian didn't want to think about what happened their last battle. They had fumbled and failed, and it was hard on the both of them because it wasn't much of a true defeat. Sandy didn't mind losing, she actually felt better about it something. But, when it came down to the battle, they always tried their best. And if they lost it was because the opponent was better prepared than them, which was not uncommon. The duo had learned a lot in their battles, and this tournament had so far been going well. It had been going on for months, and she was still slightly surprised when she received a notification about another battle. If her calculations were correct, she still had at least two more. She would make sure they would show up to both of them on time, and they would try their best. If they lost, it wouldn't be because they didn't try. I'm sorry, I don't know if the last loss was on me or what. But I promise this battle we are going to work extra hard for. I heard its another Thundergug. You now how much I've always wanted to meet another 'gug that has the same relationship with its owner as me. We're just a little bit different than the typical Thundergug I think. Not like I would ever take a mate, but it would be nice to meet another.
It was your choice not to take a mate, not mine. I always told you I could spend the money and get a perfect male 'gug for you, but you're content with how you are. And don't blame yourself, it was a bad loss but we're going to learn from it and move on.Sandy nuzzled her best friend, and they parted to go their separate ways in the battle arena. Sandy stood in the cool sand, and Amelia made her way to the stands. Their opponent was not here yet, but that didn't mean they wouldn't show at all. Sometimes nobody showed up, sometimes they came late. Frankly, Amelia and Sandy were here early, so there was lots of time. But here they were, another battle. 26 (Ready)

Their last match had gone... Well, they'd won, though Aster wasn't under any illusions as to whether it was through skill on their own part there. Which wasn't to say that they couldn't have defeated their foe on their own merits, but they didn't really have a chance to find that out.
But then, they'd fought two Sarane before the brown already. Aster figured that was well enough for the purposes of studying how Grunty fared against these, especially since he raised drakes himself. If ever he needed more information, he could always set Grunty against Avander--- in a mock fight, of course, but nevertheless.
Aster was surprised to see another 'Gug, though he supposed he shouldn't be. They were big, good for a lot of things, and made for fairly solid fighters, excepting their little issue with speed.
And if he wanted new situations for experience, this was it, wasn't it? "Well," he said, folding his arms and smiling a small, wry smile. "This should be interesting."

Calculations
-Sandy can use all the moves and abilities she knows
-Grunty cannot use dig as there is only a small layer of sand in the pit
-Since the two have the same amount of dex, a die was rolled; Grunty will go first this turn.

Aster had no idea how this was going to go, but that was part of the 'fun', he supposed. At least this time, Grunty wouldn't be grossly outmatched for speed; that, in and of itself, was going to be a change of pace from how things had been going for them thus far.
As he made his way up to the stands, he could see Grunty sizing up the foe. Funnily enough, it seemed that Grunty didn't know what to make of the situation either. But after a moment of confusion, Grunty simply wiggled his ears and lost interest. Other Thundergugs might not be something he ran into very often, but they still weren't food.
"Ready?" Aster said. Grunty didn't so much answer as he did adopt a ready stance, to show that he was paying attention. "Good. Alright, let's start off with Thunder then." Who knows, they might even be able to get a move in before their opponent this time.

Another Thundergug, that was exciting. Amelia had been right about something at least. She had heard there were two other Thundergugs, but this was the first time she had seen one. How many more rounds was even left in the tournament? Amelia shrugged and rested against the side rails, waiting for the signal to begin the fight. This Thundergug was very nice looking, his grey and white colours making him seem to be from an old timey movie. Amelia smiled at this thought, and looked towards her more earth toned Thundergug. Originally Sandy was a Savannah Thundergug, which had sand colours as it was, so Amelia hadn't went much different when it came to the upgrade.
Sandy snorted and pushed her front foot into the ground. This was a sizeable opponent, and one she had ideas to what would happen. She looked briefly to Amelia, hoping she would get some sort of a command.
Why don't we-
The mammalian was cut off by the loud thundering from the opponent. A move she knew as well, and would have executed perfectly, had they chosen to react a little bit quicker. Next time.

Amelia knew that in order to have a successful battle, they would have to move fast. They were evenly matched, and the only way that they would be victorious was to attack before the opponent. However, Amelia understood sometimes battles ended in weird ways. Win or lose, they would not be unhappy. Sandy and Amelia had learned so much since entering this tournament, and she imagined their last few battles would teach them many things as well. Who knew if Amelia would even be able to enter the next tournament, whenever it may be. This tournament had lasted months, and depending on where her mental health was, she may not even enter. If she was in a psychotic state, the last thing she would be thinking about would be training and battling.
As the sound wore off, Amelia was quick to react. Use his move right back at him.
Sandy was quick, as always, and the loud sound began to rumble through the arena. She was used to her battles beginning this way, and at this point she had gotten really good at creating the thunderous noise. Her stomping was loud, and her large feet and legs created a rumbling that would stop any creature in their tracks, at least for a few moments.

Aster had been half hoping that their luck would hold, or that Grunty's quick--- relatively speaking--- reaction to Aster's cue was a sign that he was in good condition today. Unfortunately, neither of those things quite panned out, and no sooner had the opponent recovered from the blast of noise than did they turn it right back at them. Grunty bellowed his displeasure, swinging his head around as if trying to dispel a swarm of insects... or more likely, the ringing in his own ears.
He had gone through this often enough that Aster didn't worry about him balking from the rest of the fight, but it would take a moment for him to recover from it.
It was just a matter of whether he could get his bearings before the opponent made their next move... And under the circumstances, it felt as though it could go either way at this point.

As many times as he saw it happen, the moment it took for Grunty to shake off the effects of the noise still felt longer than Aster knew it was. He could see the opposing Thundergug's movements, and he knew from gut feeling that Grunty wasn't going to be able to recover fast enough to outpace it. They were close enough a match in speed, but--- no, not this time.
Still, there was a chance that even a fellow Thundergug couldn't put him down for the count in one go. It was too early for them to be giving u, and he would be hamstringing his own creature if he didn't give a command. Aster's mind cycled through the possibilities, before settling on one.
"Breathe fire," he said. Grunty couldn't have heard the word with the noise and the distance, but the ribbon transferred it readily enough. Grunty's maw opened, and Aster saw him take a deep breath...

Things were slowly going their way. Amelia was ready to get things over with, and they weren't going to go down without a fight. The other Thundergug was stunned by the Thunder, which was their goal. Amelia also knew that this was not a battle that would end quickly. Both Thundergugs were sturdy and made to last a long time in battle. Their endurance was incredible, and she knew that this would not be a battle that would finish in one turn.
Okay, let's start with something a little bit fun. Maul.
Sandy typically didn't go with this move, but Amelia's goal wasn't always to win. There was some form of strategy, but mostly the Thundergug and her were learning what they were capable of. It was similar to rend, but it caused lasting damage, and that was always a good thing.
The next few moments were a blur for both. Sandy lunged forward, claws outreached to hopefully cause some horrifying damage, and spirals of flames came towards them. What was this? A Thundergug that breathed fire? Amelia didn't think that was natural, but then again she was sure that there were some creatures who had injections. Then again, maybe it was just the creature itself. It was possible their opponent had some secret fire powers since birth.
