Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

... It had been a while since they'd been here.
In fact, it had been a while since Aster had had Aurelius in his head. Avander's grandson was a big, fine drake with brown and gold dapples. And aside from those dapples, he didn't really bear any resemblance to his grandsire. But despite his fearsome-looking horns and the wicked looking club on his tail, Aurelius wasn't actually a very aggressive individual when his hackles weren't up at some other drake. He came docilely enough when Aster led him out of his pen, and behaved himself reasonably well the whole walk to the Pit.
"You've been here before," Aster prompted, when they arrived at the sands.
Aurelius's nostrils flared as he took in the scents. {Blood,} he said. {And other drakes.}
"That's right. But don't go at them until I give the word, alright? It doesn't count as your win if you hit them before they're ready."
{I'll wait,} said Aurelius. {But don't take too long.}

It had admittedly been a long time since Ashe had come here. It was, also admittedly, with a slight hint of shame that he walked through the doors and then up into the stands, allowing his untamed brown to be handled from down below, by the pit staff. All of this time and he hadn't managed to train up a sarane to win the tournament. But he wanted to participate anyway, so he'd brought along one of his browns. For the excitement. The raw instinct, even if a little sloppy.
As Ashe waited in the stands, he realized he wasn't the first to arrive. The other drake was a fearsome beast, with large horns and a larger tail. Club tail, huh? He didn't often see those, aside from Fafnir. They didnt seem to be as popular, or maybe the lines just weren't as bred out as rudder tails seemed to be. "Sorry, Sushi, you're going to have a rough day…" he murmured to himself, feeling Inyala's absence. But he hadn't wanted to force her to watch these tournaments if he didnt have to.
Down below, Sushi burst in with a roar.

- Sushi cannot use Climb
- Sushi's Dexterity is now 3 due to Commanding Presence

Aster thought he might have vaguely recognized the other man who walked into the arena once he had already made his way to the stands, but if they were acquainted, it was probably only in passing. Maybe a regular at these events. The last time Aster had been a part of a Sarane tournament... must have been a while back, so he didn't remember all too clearly.
The other guy didn't try to approach him or make any small talk though, so he doubted he had anything to worry about. And the drake he brought with him was just a regular tier-one brown, so Aster didn't think Aurelius would have any problems in that department either. Especially when Aster saw the way that brown was looking at Aurelius.
{Bash,} said Aster. Aurelius, who had been sizing up his opponent, launched himself forward with purpose on Aster's signal, ready to ram into the other drake.
(Aurelius uses Bash)

Unlike the poised and patient Aurelius, Sushi was not controlled enough to not immediately attack. He did not wait for his opponent to be ready, or wait for a signal, or wait for a command. He wanted to taste the other drake's blood now and he eagerly launched himself at the mottled Drake. His mind was a fit of rage, blood colored splatters and not much else going on. He wanted to win, to slash and bite and rip the other apart, until death parted them or the other flew away. He was heedless of the fact Aurelius was so much bigger in all ways that mattered. It might have been a brilliant show of bravery, facing an opponent so much stronger than yourself and giving it your all... If it wasn't so reckless and childish in appearance.
Ashe simply watched, his gaze admittedly shifting more to focus on the opponent and not his own fodder. These fights were useful to him, where he could pick up other peoples' training tactics...
[Sushi does something]

Calculations
Aurelius uses Bash! Aurelius' Dexterity of 5 + 2 rolled by staff = 7 vs. the 3 Dexterity of Sushi Aurelius will deal the most damage possible! Aurelius's Strength of 8 + 6 damage of Bash = 14 damage 14 - Sushi's Resistance of 5 = 9 Sushi's Stamina is now -2
Well that was quick, the tier three Drake is victorious rather quickly and the other Drake goes down in an instant. The Pit crew rush out to tend to him.
Rewards Aurelius gains 2 levels and Aster gains 5 pit prize points Sushi gains 1 level and Ashe gains 3 pit prize points
