Suggestion: Improving the Monthly Grind - Accepted

This is a two-fold suggestion I have both regarding the same basic issue I've been experiencing: I feel like there is way too much to do on a monthly schedule! I feel like I can't relax, write what I want, train my pets, or even go fishing because there's so much on a short (monthly) timer that I have to do first! I know I don't have to do these things, but I feel like I'm missing out if I don't, which is not a good feeling.
The mansion can't really be changed, so I'd like to talk about Quests and the Gardens.
Gardens - Can we make it so harvestable pets are harvestable for an entire season, rather than limited to a months or two?
For example: Mussimanders in winter, Dragon oaks in summer, etc.?
This gives users more time to get what they want from a specific pet, and gives them a choice about what they want to work with more. For example, I may want to focus on my Dragon Oaks over my Keseiseibutsu in the summer, or maybe I don't even have a Sapling Spriteling, so I'll work with something else for spring, and so on. (It also makes more sense that the pets can be harvested while they are in their different physical forms, like the Leaf Scatter has the berry tail all autumn, but you can only harvest it during part of the season.)
Quests - I think quests should not be locked at the end of the month, or at the very least that not /all/ quests should be locked at the end of the month. You should be able to start a quest and complete a quest whenever you want. (Maybe only with NEW quests form now on, not opening all of the old ones for everyone to do again since they weren't made with this system in mind.)
I don't think this would cause a rise in quest points available, since people would still only get one NEW quest every month to work on and even if they do every quest as it comes out, that's still just the same as it always was. If it does turn out that this is an issue, we could always make quests more difficult over all, and/or reduce the number of QP given per quest.
'Special' quests could still be limited in some way, and this would make them feel more special instead of an extra hassle to worry about when you've already got a lot on your plate.
(Staff could also add in extra special quests with unique rewards, sort of how the Kakum Baakir were passed out via a roleplay event in the past! That kind of thing could be a bonus quest in addition to the regular quests that doesn't reward QP but does give a special item/pet/whatever, and it wouldn't 'take up' a month's slot because it can just be extra... I have some ideas if staff wants to take me up on it!)
This should be easier on staff, too, since the pressure to get everyone's quest rolls in as soon as possible so people can try again if they fail won't be as bad. It also gives staff some more time to think about quests without the need to pump them out super fast on a monthly basis, especially if they need new art.
