I've been thinking about this for a while, and I feel like it would be nice to put a bit more use into the critters brought to the loot areas - to have them actually help find stuff for our characters instead of being a passive bonus just hanging around. Active use of tricks is something I'd like to see utilized more on site!
I'm not sure how loot is rolled for exactly, but I hope these tricks can be squeezed in without too much fuss. I imagine these tricks should be regarded as their own category in the list since they have explicit use or added to the Hunting/Guarding list. I've omitted TP cost as I'm not sure what might be considered fair or reasonable for the effect they might have on rolls.
These tricks, if used, must be noted at the bottom of the last post of a roll (a post whose number ends in 5 or 0). Only one trick may be used at a time.
Suggested changes to existing Tricks:
There's couple tricks that already seem close to what I'd like to see accomplished with my proposed 'helpful loot area tricks' - but it is unclear if they have any real effect if taught. I've added effects to these pre-existing tricks to have uses in loot areas.

Search Crystal Type:_____
Description: For mining familiars only. The pet seeks out a specific kind of magic crystal. Must be taught for individual crystal types (fire, water, earth, wind, order, tainted, chaos, pure).
Effect: Accomplishes the same function as the 'Looking for _____ Crystal' note that is added to mining threads. Your pet should have this trick known in order to use this function if your character does not have magical aptitude. Does not increase the odds of finding a crystal overall, it would only change a found crystal to the specified type.

Fishing
Description: Teaches a pet how to catch their own fish. Some pets will be better at this than others.
Training Points: 5
Effect: Slightly increases the odds of finding fishing loot. Alternatively, this trick might help increase the passive effectiveness of non-specified fishing pets to that just below that of the specified species (that way there's still an advantage to using a fishing specified pet, but also gives other critters a chance to be *almost* as good if brought and taught this trick).
Forage
Description: The pet can be taught to look for berries, plants, nuts and other things that look edible to bring back to the owner. It's not guaranteed that your pet will know which are safe to eat, however.
Training Points: 5
Effect: Slightly increases the odds of finding gardening loot. Alternatively, this trick might help increase the quantity of loot found.
Track
Description: Your pet is able to follow tracks or pick up a scent and hunt down a specific individual.
Training Points: 5
Effect: Slightly increases the odds of an encounter.
