A warm look was given and the Draconicess bowed her head, "Of course, these two will be in wonderous care. Congratulations to the three of you for finding your family."

How long had it been since Renathan had been here? The russet mammalian pondered this somewhat nervously as he makes his way to the Rookery. He had faint memories that almost felt like they weren't his- no... They weren't. Mintaka's days at the Rookery had bled into his senses somewhat. Little Mintaka had been so keen on finding a humanoid to become his bonded, and though it had taken many years and failures, he and Renathan had found each other. Now Mintaka had his own great family, and wished nothing more than to have another little great-grandkid to raise, this time a special one- another from the Rookery, like himself. Renathan almost felt like Mintaka should be doing this himself, but Mintaka had told him that it was important that he do it. Mintaka trusted Renathan's judgement to find a good match for the Clan if there were one available. Still, Renathan's mouth was dry as he stepped up to the area, and out of memory, looked up from where he'd been looking mostly at the ground to hopefully find and speak to Acethylka about the clan's decision and request.[Renathan is using Sever Bond]

Acethylka stared at the man as he entered the Rookery and tilted her head for a moment with a sweet smile on her face. "Hello there, have you come to find your family?" she asked as politely as she could.

Renathan was always anxious when speaking to those that deserved respect- and of course the caretaker of the Rookery was one of those. He dips his head in respect and then nods. "Yes, my clan would like to adopt a youngster that would be interested in clan life." The russet mammalian says, fighting the urge to rub the back of his neck as he said so. It was the truth, but it was very difficult to look such a great draconicess in the eyes, too. "A long time ago, my soulbond left the Rookery to find himself. It is important to us to give others the chance if they are so interested." He says, smiling softly beneath the mask. Mintaka was one of those very 'grandfatherly' types, and he loved to have youngsters running around the clan home.
Of course, there may not be any good fits in the Rookery that would like to come settle down into clan life- but perhaps there was?

"Of course," she said softly, dipping her head. Her clawed hand waved behind her to the little ones and larger Draconics playing and lounging around deeper inside the Rookery, "Please, introduce yourself."

"Thank you." He manages to squeak out, embarrassingly, before scooting along to perform the task at hand.
Renathan is anxious. Startlingly anxious, in fact. He dips his head respectfully, and swallows. Somewhere in the back of his head he could feel the emotional equivalent of a hand on his hand comfortingly- Mintaka's calming influence in his heart. This would be fine. The worst that could happen was that he wouldn't find anyone that wanted to join a clan just yet. He stops first by the elder draconics, and none of them really look interested in him. It is understandable. Some of these individuals had been in here a long time. He doesn't walk through all of them- instead turning towards where some of the youngsters were playing.
There were several small groups of hatchlings playing- some that looked like Lashak- A few makiyan. He wasn't sure where to look first- there were so many! He winds up just standing there awkwardly as the youngsters play. Most were only somewhat interested in him- a few that looked like they hadn't seen a humanoid before or at least often stared with wide eyes and scooted away, unsure of how to react.

Renathan was just about to dip his head and move away- unsure of how to react himself, when suddenly a small set of hatchlings come towards him. There are two of them, one of them a pale pink and the other a soft golden. Both were brightly shimmering, and they had broken away from a larger group of hatchlings at the prodding of the golden one. Renathan tilts his head, feeling super awkward (Mintaka once again moves to emotionally soothe him, in his heart) and speaks- "Hello you two." He greets, raising a palm. He wasn't sure if they understood common... actually, chances were they probably didn't. Come on, he thought, he should have considered that possibility.
After a moment in which the golden one pushes the pale pink one towards him a bit, the pink one raises a white front leg in a mirrored greeting. Renathan swallows. "Uh-" He wasn't entirely certain what he was supposed to do- so instead of standing there looking particularly dumb, he squats- to be closer to their level of height.

The pale pink youngster looked nervous at that, so Renathan doesn't stare them down any at all. Instead, he turns his head slightly to the side, to look at the companion of this one. Why exactly was the pale golden one trying to get the pink one to meet him so badly? He didn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable at all. The situation was indeed an uncomfortable one! He points to himself. "I'm Renathan." Of course, he has no idea at this point if either of them could speak common, but he was going to try anyway.
The golden one backs away a bit, not entirely leaving the side of their companion, but giving them some space. The pale pink one looks down, and then up, puffing out its chest. The voice that comes out sounds distinctly draconic- but feminine to Renathan. She places a front 'paw' on her own chest. "Taba." She pronounces clearly. Renathan nods. "Hi Taba." He greets her, raising a palm and waving slowly. He glances again back at the pale golden one, who was slowly beginning to move off- it seems that the job has been done.

After Renathan had greeted her, Taba raises her own paw again, and wiggles her 'fingers' experimentally at him, and then manages to twist her wrist ever so slightly enough to get a good facsimile of a wave out. She was young, wasn't she? Renathan wasn't entirely certain how to tell how old draconics were. They varied wildly in size over portions of their lives. However, this one just seemed very young. Renathan clears his throat, and wonders what to say. Before he can really get anything out, Taba makes the decision for him- "Why? What? Who?" She rapid fired the simple questions, and Renathan wasn't even entirely certain where to begin.
He tilts his head, and decides not to insult her intelligence by dumbing the ideas down. "I'm here to adopt a youngster that wants to join a clan." He said. "My soulbond is the patriarch of his clan." He tries to explain. Some draconics were looking for a soulbond, so he wanted to make that obvious from the start that he already had one.

Renathan wasn't entirely sure if the youngster was going to take to the idea or not, but either way- at least he could say that he had tried. Mintaka was already fairly pleased with his mental report of the entire incident, and he breathed out a sigh of relief whenever the youngster seemed to nod with some amount of understanding of his words. She puts together a reply, another question if Renathan understands her tonality (not quite perfect) properly. "Taba- clan? Clan. Renathan Clan?" She points to herself, shyly. "Soulbond?" She asks, as well.
Renathan chuckles a bit before answering. Children could be so adorable, they really didn't have any frame of understanding for much of anything. He would never have children of his own, but it was endearing to teach folks things, regardless of age. "So you're looking for a clan." He said. Of course, that didn't necessarily mean that she wanted to go with Renathan- though Mintaka's clan was so loving that it would take any personality with stride. "Soulbonds are... Well, complicated. I'm not sure if I can explain them well. Maybe ask Acethylka?" Renathan says politely. "I think it would be best if another draconic explained it to you- I don't have the same experiences, since I'm different." He admitted. "Mintaka says that you kind of... Know, though? If you're meant to have one."

From there, the conversation winds to other things. They get more of an understanding of one another as time goes on. Renathan feels less awkward about the situation. He felt like perhaps it would be a bit more prudent for Mintaka to have come as well, but with his emotional support on the other end of their link, Renathan felt more confident. Taba asks lots of questions, some of which Renathan felt like he didn't understand properly. Taba was very smart, and was picking up things very quickly. However, Renathan could tell that sometimes his answers frustrated Taba, and she had to come up with another way to frame the questions.
Taba seems content after a little while. Renathan has watched her go from being nervous to speak to him, to confidently rooting out answers of the many questions she had about the world out of him. It was very sweet. Renathan stands up, realizing that he hasn't spoken with any other hatchling since he had been there! Woops! He didn't mean to monopolize Taba's time, either. "It has been very nice to meet you, Taba." Renathan says. He's not entirely certain how to ask her if she wanted to join their clan, though.
Luckily, he does not have to. Taba is able to come up with a request on her own. She points to herself and begins- "Learn about it? Clan? Clan teach?" She seems to search for a word she's heard before, and can't find it. Instead, she looks imploringly at Renathan.

Your name: Emery Draconic: Adult (C) Canyon Home: HereDo you have plans for your friend?: To learn more about the unique bonds that exist between humans and the draconics of the canyon. Emery finally walked into The Rookery, her lungs working double time to keep her standing. It was... a much more difficult walk here than she thought it would be, if she was being honest. She couldn’t argue with the difficult terrain, however- mostly because the canyons didn’t care what she thought of them, but also because who could blame dragons for living in a place difficult for humans to enter? They hadn’t exactly been treated well by them, from what she knew. The draconics of the Canyon of Eterra were different however, from what she knew. Apparently it was quite common for them to make bonds with people- and that was precisely what she was looking for here today. If one would have her, she would be happy to make another connection. And yet, the cavern seemed empty as she walked in, the sound of her cane clacking against the floor echoing off the walls. “...Hello?” She called, testing the waters.

Acethylka watched the man and the Draconic child for a moment before turning to someone new. She bowed her head as she noticed the new person and then smiled graciously, "Hello, how may we help your family today?"

Emery was surprised at Acethylka’s size, despite how she had tried to prepare herself before coming here. It took her a moment to collect herself and come up with an answer. “I... would like to forge a bond.” She started hesitantly. “To learn more about draconics and perhaps teach one about myself as well. An adult or hatchling... whoever would take me.” She finished. That last part was admittedly pretty weak, but Emery hoped that her honesty would help sway the guardian’s decision. If not, well.., she’d just be turning around and going home, then. Still, there were (so she heard) plenty of draconics in the caverns. Hopefully there would be at least one willing to get to know a person of her... odd appearance. While she would be fine with a hatchling, with any luck an adult would be better adjusted and willing to accept her.

Flicking her tail a little, she gave an amused look before nodding and motioning further into the area, "Of course. Please let me know if you have found one or more you wish to give a home."
