Registries Poll

Okay! So there's been some discussion about what to do with the registries moving forward, and I think I've narrowed it down to three options that are balanced enough for staff to handle as well as users not being too confused.
Option 1:
Option 2:
Option 3:
NONE of the above options will issue account warnings or bans for people not registering things perfectly. (Unless it's clear that there's intentional theft going on, of course.) All of them will also, unfortunately, require some kind of 'settling' period where users will have to re-register at least some things they own.
Please note that staff may tweak these ideas going forward, the winning option may not necessarily be what we go with. I just want to know what you guys think!
Also note: this does NOT change the way pets with unique stats (customs/offspring/injections/etc) will be recorded.
Let us know what you think if you have anything to ask or add. :3
Option 1:
Staff maintains a list. This works similarly to the current system. You post in a 'trades' thread which is kept visible for everyone as a 'receipt' for trades. (You do not have to disclose what you paid for a trade, only who you received it from.) You do not have to post in the trade's thread if you received your item from the loot areas or shops purchases, a staff member will go through and add them for you at some point.
(Staff! This means we will be making notes in our post and possibly posting in the trade thread as well for when we've added something.) Staff may be slow to add and remove things, but since the trade thread exists, you can always use that as proof of ownership in the meantime.
If staff is ever concerned about ownership of an item or pet, they will check the list of records, and if something is missing, you may incur a punishment such as not being able to use the pet or item until you can prove you own it. Keep the trade thread up to date to avoid this!

Option 2:
Users maintain their own lists. Users make a post with a list of things they own. You maintain this list yourself, and users and staff alike trust everyone to update their lists properly.
Users will need to keep their records very tidy and up to date, since if staff disputes that you own something, you may risk losing that thing if you can't prove that you own it. Without the trade records listed publicly, it might be hard to prove you own something you received in DMs, etc., so you need to be extra careful about keeping your records straight.
Note that this system also, obviously, makes it a bit more difficult for staff to catch cheaters. Keep that in mind if you favor this option.

Option 3:
The 'hybrid' option. Users make a post with a list of things that they own. You maintain this list yourself, but whenever you make a trade, you post that information in a central 'trades' thread. (You do not have to disclose what you paid for a trade, only who you received it from.)
You do not have to post in the trade's thread if you received your item from the loot areas, you can just add them to your post. (If the item is later disputed for any reason, staff can check your loot thread to make sure.)
If staff is ever concerned about ownership of an item or pet, they will check your records, and if you have not kept your record up to date, you may incur a punishment such as not being able to use the pet or item until the dispute is settled. Settling disputes under this system should be relatively easy, because you'll be able to use the trades thread to double check.
