The first pachee breeding of the year for him, and the humanish had no clock on him. He read time from the sun's position. Heck, even might have a sundial someplace with a stick and a scoring in the dirt. But he wanted to see if any of his pride were at least interested in going outside. Answer: Nope. Pak had no interest in going out with him, he waved his tail absently as he snoozed in the sun, scratching his belly with his root claws. Such a plant cat indeed. The offspring of last year had finally reached full size, with a few of them being more rembunctious then the rest. It took a moment before the humanish sprang itno the bushes, catching something white that had screamed past. Standing up, he had a slightly squashed female who was white. He'd take her along. She glowers at him for the lack of warning for being sprung upon. Might be why he's holding her like a pile of laundry vs like a cat. Her paw tips are a bit pink, and he's a bit scratched. 1 x.20

The last time Nerius had been to the breeding center was for orbaru, not pachee, but he had to admit he had a preference for the little plant critters. He was to be meeting someone else today, a person named "Flare" that he'd never met before. As such, he only had one male with him (though pachee could breed with more, something to try in the future?). Said male was a spotty fellow with a lovely marbled coat, that he had only vague, slightly delirious memories of producing. He'd not been feeling his best, and tried to be productive anyway, at least, that's what he thought had happened.
He'd gotten a nice pachee out of it in any case, and would hopefully get more out of this breeding. Presley's date today was going to be an elegant white and green female, most of his pachee were on the colorful end, and the pale coloration could make a nice addition to his bloodlines. He'd just started on the paperwork while he waited, when someone else arrived, holding a very grumpy looking white pachee. Was that them?

The clock on the front of the center had to be wrong, he told himself. Right? Clocks are able to be wrong. You can't screw up a sundial. But according to the invention of a clock, he was late. Oops. Not exactly hurrying, but not needing his staff-cane today for once, the tumaian came up to the counter, where someone in a marbled outfit is filling out paperwork. He can't see an animal from this point of view until he's practically right upon them. He fished in his pocket with a free hand to find the slip of paper impaled on his garden gate. Name... name... aha. Nerious. Sounded like some entertainers name. But he came up to the center, and see's the script partially done. "Are you Nerious?" he asks, the word unusual and a bit longer on his tongue then originally trying to say. The female white squints downward from her carryingness. 3/10 x.20

It wasn't the worst butchering of his name he'd heard since coming to the Labs, and by the sound of the accent the fellow didn't speak common as a native language. Besides, it was impossible to pronounce an unfamiliar name properly if you'd never heard it in person. The other fellow's name was a word in common, and Nerius wondered briefly if he'd chosen a translation of his name to keep it from being butchered by the locals.
"That's me, you are Flare, yes?" He wasn't entirely sure what the other person looked like, but this person knew his name, and had a pale colored pachee, so it was probably him. Presley had noticed there was another pachee around, and was rustling around in the crate, peering through the holes to try to get a look at the female. He was also tired of being in the carrier, but Nerius found that the easiest way to transport pachee.

He hasn't bred pachee in well over a year, so how to even interact with the little cat-plant-things kind of escaped the tumaian humanish, he wouldnt' lie about that to himself. Had it shaken him up that badly when he'd touched an emotional 'strand' with Shabh that everything got put at a pole's length? He didn't...have an answer to that. "Yes" he answers in common, and his accented (thank god it wasn't hissing) voice is easier on his ear. "I'm sorry to be late." He lifts his pile of laundry pachee beside him. "Sage and the rest of the pride chose to run instead of come when called." if pachee could hiss, this one would. Her ears flatten to her skull and she squishes her mouthless muzzle in a pinched angry look. Well of COURSE SHE WOULDN'T COME, she didn't want to be here. She glowers at the carrier, because it smells of male. And two and two come together. Was it because of being sappy? 5/10 x.20

"Don't worry, you're not late by much," Nerius assured him, he'd only just started on the paperwork, even. "I.. take it she didn't appreciate the trip?" It was the most polite way he could think to mention it looked like the pachee had done her best to maul her owner. It was a little concerning, mostly for Presley's safety, though he'd never heard of pachee being aggressive to their partners. At least pollen meant they didn't have to get too close to one another. Presley himself wasn't sure quite what was going on, he could see there was a female out there, but not much else.
At least the forms didn't take long to fill out, and Nerius pushed the page over to Flare, "You'll need to sign here, and they'll get us a room." Er, not their room, their pachees' room. Because it would be the pachee that would be, yeah, anyway.

"Less the trip, more being pounced on to catch her." the humanish admitted to the other, pointier person. He takes the center's offered writing implement in his good dominant hand and writes his information in on the sheet. His name, Sage's name, her 'color', and what not. Finally passing it back to Nerious. "She isn't an aggressive pachee, more of a runner." Her father was Pak's offspring with someone's white called...uh...Marigold. So Pak's grand...chee? How did that work for pachee anyhow. Must be from being sappy. Had to be. Sage convinced herself at this. The jerk of a human master with a tail. He acted like the dog that he kept. Or the other dog with bigger paws and a louder, deeper bark. They loved chasing pachee to pass time. But didn't like being swatted at. Likely why she was smaller then the other white in the garden, who smelled like her. 7/10 20.20 lv 88 Flare

"Ah," Nerius nodded at the explanation, "They can be quite the slippery little things, for such a harmless creature. Particularly the ones with wings." Looking at you Tie Dye; the dragon winged little nuisance had managed to escape during Nerius' garden relocation.
With the paperwork finished, it didn't take long for it to be processed, and the desk clerk, after eyeing the grumpy pachee Flare was holding, passed the keycard to Nerius. He accepted the card, with his free hand, the other holding Presley's carrier. The pachee didn't like the movement much, but he'd be let out soon enough.
"Room's ready," that was probably obvious? But he wasn't sure if Flare had bred pachee before, though, a 'pride' suggested multiple, so perhaps he had. Still, it was better not to assume, and asked, "Have you bred pachee before?" It was part genuine curiosity, and part an attempt at small talk, something that was not his strong point.

"I've not had the fortune, or misfortune, of handling a winged pachee yet, no." personally kind of glad about that; because all he needed was to have a winged take Pak's place at the forefront of the pride and he'd have a major problem on his hands. "The worst I could say came when my first male ate some rare succulents I had procured. He changed colors and had tiny stalks growing out of his head like tiny horns." A frightening memory. Pak thankfully is the forefront of health and vitality, and seems to love sunshine. He shows off the new coloring quite nicely and is a great addition to his garden. Finally inside the room, he releases Sage who lands on all fours and scurries into the room's grassy area to shake off and stand, looking up and around. "Give berries and watch?" he asks Nerious. "I have bred before...." he had to count the number of times in his head... "six times." All pachee know instinctively what this place is. She'll likely respond properly here... maybe. But she had been a bit sappy... 9/10 88 1.20

"Roughly a third of mine are winged," Nerius hadn't realized he had quite so many winged 'chee until he considered it just now. "It does add a challenge to containing them, I keep mine in a greenhouse."
"Interesting, I've not heard of adults being effected by plants." Flare seemed to have found this experience unpleasant, but Nerius was more fascinated by the idea of adult pachee changing. Of course, Presley himself had been the result of a.. questionable.. mushroom experiment. It hadn't effected him, but had his sibling, Wilt.
Once they were in the room, Nerius let the male out of the carrier, and, nodding, took out the berries, careful to give the proper berries to the proper parents.
Six? That was more than he had, "This will be my fifth," as much as he liked them, pachees were more of a side project.
Presley quickly drained his berry, before turning his attention to the female. He flared his wings, and wiggled his tail, doing his best pachee showoff dance, bits of pollen already starting to drift off of his tail...
