Although she was irritated by their lack of finding anything, she was more interested in growing Roman than anything else. She needed to focus on that, she figured as they both dug in the floor of the mines. Maybe it was for the best that things happened this way, that she had done it this way, but she really had no way of knowing at the moment. Jack pushed the shovel into the dirt, sure she was going to be sore the next day, but that was alright no matter what she did. She was sore a lot at the same time. Eventually the new leg would get used to all of the work, but for now it was sore a lot due to all of the work. Soon she figured it would settle down and all that, but she didn't know when, and that bothered her quite a bit too at this point.

Considering he was almost fully grown, Jack would have to be careful from now on around Roman, at least until she could break him. She chewed on her lip a little and shook her head, unsure of what was going on at the moment and all that. She didn't know what to do with her time in the mines right now considering they hadn't found anything for awhile now, but that was alright, Roman didn't seem to mind too much right now, and she sighed a little as she dug in the dirt some more. It wasn't like they had to find something all the time, but that was fine at the same time. Maybe it was for the best that they hadn't found anything, she could focus on the Sarane a little bit better or something. Jack sighed a little and shook her head, she didn't know what was going on with herself.

No matter what, she needed to figure out what to do at the moment. Would she dart him yet or would she let him dig a little more and all that? Giving a little shrug, she decided it didn't really matter right now, they could dig a little while later and things would be alright in the end of it all. Jack pushed her hair back, promising herself she would get another haircut soon, she really seemed to need it no matter what. It was getting annoying, but it wasn't quite long enough for her to pull it back just yet, that was just the worst when it was in between like that. Jack scowled a little, considering it for a bit, and she shook her head a little as she thought about it for now. At least Roman was doing well with her at the moment, she had to call that good.

Without a doubt, at least things were going to go well for her after a little bit. Roman was almost all the way grown, evidenced by his wicked looking claws and the horns on his head. She smiled a little, he was going to be amazing when he grew up, she knew it, and that was the best part of it all. She'd always wanted a grandchild of Alexei, and she didn't feel bad that Renathan had his brother at all. That was probably a good thing, he had a son and a grandson of Alexei at this point, which meant... she didn't know. Jack didn't know what her train of thought was at the moment, but that was fine she figured. It just meant she had a lot on her mind and that was perfectly fine when all things were said and done. She just hoped she could muster up the strength to do it all.

Jack had an idea that he was going to start raging soon, which wasn't good. Already he was starting to twitch a little as he dug, and he eyed her every now and then in a way that made her uncomfortable. Things were going to get nasty soon, she knew it, but that wasn't the point of things right now. At least she had some idea of what she was going to do with him, after the breaking and after the training. Roman twitched again and snorted, flames coming from his nostrils, but mostly smoke at this time. He still wasn't quite old enough for full blown fire, but it was going to be fine no matter what. Jack pushed her hair back and she didn't know what was going to happen to her, but she knew it had to be good at this point. Or bad, either way didn't really matter.

Roman stopped digging for a bit and shook his head, as though he was fighting something inside of himself. Jack knew what he was doing and had a dart ready for now and she stabbed it into him so the tranquilizers would start working. She smiled as he stumbled and then slumped, passed out for now, and she grabbed him and hefted him into the cart with the few stones they had found so far. Maybe soon they would come back, but she doubted that would work out too well for her with a Drake. Jack breathed deeply and then pulled hard on the cart to lug it back up to the entrance to the mines so she could eventually break him. Maybe this would work out pretty well, all things considered. Giving a little shrug, she decided it didn't matter at the moment, and it was going to be alright no matter what happened.

Zhalo was a funny little Sarane it seemed, he was eager to be in the mines, unlike Roman had been. Maybe he would have been if she'd gotten him down there faster, but that wasn't going to happen now, he was already broken and things were fine, so now she wanted to deal with yet another tier three Drake Sarane, Zhalo. It was interesting to see the differences, and already he had little buds poking out of his head where his horns would be. She was proud of him, she had worked hard to get him bred and now she needed him to be fully grown if he was going to be used for what she wanted, not that this was the only reason she wanted him grown or anything. He was Suros' son, and he was a purebred Black Sarane, at home in the mines and places like it she figured.

She just had to be careful that she didn't lose him in the mines, he blended in rather well, she supposed that was the point of them living in the mines anyway. Sighing a little, she made sure the leash was sitting well on him and then plunged into the darkness with only her light to light the way. Jack was sure they would find something good this time, the last visit had been a bit lackluster, unfortunately, but that was alright she figured with a little smile on her face. As long as she kept trying, then she would find what she needed to find, she figured, and it would all be alright in the end of it all. Jack sighed a little and shook her head, unsure of what she needed to do with the little hatchling, but that was fine, she would figure it out eventually, she supposed.

Whatever happened to her and the Sarane, she was sure it wouldn't be a cave in or anything as of yet. She sighed a little again though, unsure of what to do at the moment. She wanted to go further into the mines this time, just in case she could find some good stuff further down. She'd not found any crystals just yet, which was a shame, but whatever, that didn't really matter at the moment. Stretching out her shoulders, she hauled the cart down after her as she followed the little hatchling on the leash, wondering if he was going to take her somewhere good or if it would be bunk. Either way, at least it was an adventure... The mines were pretty hollowed out at this point though, which was a shame and all that, but she wasn't sure what else to do about things right now either and all that.

Zhalo was sure he could smell something, maybe it was part of his ancestry, he didn't know though, he was too young to think that way. Right now he just knew he smelled something good and that was all there was to it. Jack smiled down at him and patted him on the head, she needed to figure this out as time went on, and she smiled a little. She wasn't sure what to do at the moment, but that was fine at the same time. Nothing was going to happen at the moment aside from getting some stones, she hoped, and stuff like that. They would be fine until he grew up all the way and then she would have to dart him and haul him back up to the surface and to the Pit so she could break him and all that. Hopefully things would work out with them, no problem there.

All she could do, she figured as she walked after the Sarane, lugging the cart behind her with the light on it, was hope they would find some good stuff in the mines this time with Zhalo with her. She wasn't sure what she wanted to find other than crystals, and that was a good thing anyway, that way she wouldn't be disappointed by anything she got, right? Jack chuckled and shook her head as she watched Zhalo move in front of her. She liked him quite a bit, his whole line was quite nice, even if Suros was a little sharper than most Sarane and all that. Without a doubt, at least things were going to be alright, no matter what, and she would find things and grow the Sarane without any troubles. Or at least, that's what she was hoping, all things considered. Jack sighed a little, she didn't know what to think.

Two very nice gems were nearby, if one could find them! It would take a good eye.

Pushing her hair back, she realized it was different with Zhalo than it had been with Roman, and she didn't mean just with the size and age factor either. There was just something... different, and she thought that she liked it. So far it was fun with him, he was enthusiastic as he led her through the winding tunnels of the mines like there was something there that he knew about it. No matter what, at least she had a thought that he might know what was going on, it was the best thing about mining with an animal from the mines, at least coming from the mines in their ancestry. It was great, she figured, but there wasn't much else to do at the moment aside from follow him until he found something, there had to be something about it at the moment. Jack smiled a little, wondering what was going to happen.

At least Zhalo knew where he was going, his family had told him of a nest down in the depths of the mines where more like him could be found. Maybe not the same tier, not the same horns, but like him all the same. His grandmother was from the mines, she had whispered it to him at night when he slept, and like following a wisp, he followed the stories. Jack followed behind him with a smile, guessing at what he was trying to find and wondering if they would find it. It was possible, of course, but she didn't know what else to do at the moment. She pushed a hand through her hair and then shook her head a little, unsure of what was going to happen. At least they should be able to find something pretty soon, she figured no matter what and all that, at least it would be interesting.
