Now that she had trained Cork a single trick, she decided to focus her attention on Honeydew as the Faeron had woken up. Honeydew was quite pleased to be in her company and fluttered over to land on her shoulder. Leafy smiled at her as she swapped out the treats that Cork had enjoyed in favor of ones she thought that Honeydew would prefer. The Faeron eyed them eagerly and Leafy figured she had made the correct choice. She planned on teaching Honeydew how to use Poison Sting which was made possible by her spade tail. She decided to first scout out a target that would be beneficial for them to use. She soon found the perfect target, a blueberry bush. In order to demonstrate what Leafy wanted Honeydew to do, she pretended her arm was a tail and smacked it at the bush. She then waited for Honeydew to try and imitate the motion. Honeydew didn't seem sure what was expected of her, and she waited for Leafy to give her more instruction. Leafy lightly pressed her fingers against Honeydew's tail and then gestured at the bush. She then made a point of slapping her arm against the bush and then touching Honeydew's tail again.
Honeydew gave her a blank stare, but she seemed to be willing to try anything at this point. She fluttered her wings and then wagged her tail back and forth. When Leafy hit the bush again, the Faeron decided to give it a go and tried to smack one of the branches with her tail.
"Nice job, Honeydew!" Leafy beamed, trying to give the Faeron some encouragement. Honeydew didn't seem convinced she had done well and gave the girl a puzzled look. Leafy realized that it wasn't as easy as she figured it would be, so she needed to think of a way to make it clearer.

She looked around for a moment and then grabbed a long, slender stick. She decided to swish it around a bit, trying to mimic a tail before she smacked it at the bush. Following the stick example with better clarity, Honeydew tried to mimic the motion, missing the target but still managing to move her tail in a similar manner.
"Great try!" Leafy praised her quickly, this time offering her a nut as a reward. The Faeron accepted it gladly and was quick to devour the snack. Deciding that it might help to try a different target, Leafy glanced around before settling on a pile of dead weeds. It would be a bit easier for Honeydew to hit a target that was on the ground. Leafy then took the stick again and made a show of twirling it around like a tail before hitting it into the pile of weeds.

Honeydew appeared more confident this time as she observed. She seemed to be figuring out what Leafy was trying to get her to do and she flew over towards the pile of leaves as she decided she would give it a go. It took her a moment to figure out how she wanted to approach the weeds and she soon began to slap her tail at the pile, successfully managing to land a soft hit against the weeds.
"Yes, Honeydew! That was nicely done!" Leafy called out as she got out another treat to give to the Faeron. Honeydew grabbed it happily and ate quickly.
Honeydew still didn't understand what the purpose of this exercise was, but she was having fun! Hitting things with her tail was surprisingly quite enjoyable. "Alright, Honeydew. Let's try it again!" Leafy beckoned with the stick and hoped that Honeydew would understand what was being asked of her.

She took a moment to demonstrate again, making the same motions as she did before and hitting the weeds with the stick. Honeydew had a pretty good idea of what to do now and she raised her tail, this time striking downwards with a bit more force.
She hit the pile of weeds with a thump, causing a few to spray a torrent of seeds into the air in a cloud of fluff. She landed on Leafy's shoulder as she celebrated her efforts, pleased with the mayhem she had caused. The girl handed her another nut, stroking the top of her head softly as she ate the treat.
Now that Honeydew was starting to get the hang of things, they would try attacking the blueberry bush once more. She pointed at the bush and gestured with the stick for Honeydew to do the same. The Faeron fluttered towards it, choosing a weak point and striking at it with her tail.

The bush wasn't even close to completely obliterated like the girl had hoped, but a few blueberries on it had been shaken loose. The girl considered that to be a success. She praised Honeydew and gave her another treat before deciding on another target. The Faeron had managed to get the motions of her tail down, and now she would need to learn the poison part of the move. For this, Leafy needed to find something that would give them visible indication that it had been poisoned. The berries from the blueberry bush seemed like they would be messy, so instead Leafy chose to go for a sunflower that looked very healthy. She pointed at it and indicated for Honeydew to strike it with her tail.
Honeydew obliged without hesitation, realizing that her pointed spade tail was the best part to strike at objects with. She landed a direct hit on the sunflower.

The Faeron watched her intently as Leafy observed the sunflower, wanting the girl to be happy with the work she had done. To both of their surprise, the sunflower began to wilt, its previously bright yellow colour taking on a more muted, sickly tone. Leafy was no doctor, but she was confident that Honeydew had managed to strike with poison this time.
"Excellent, exactly that Honeydew!" Leafy threw her hands up in excitement and tossed another nut for Honeydew to catch. The Faeron responded with equal enthusiasm, pleased that she had done the move correctly.
The next target that Leafy found was a lily pad. It was situated within the nearby pond, and it was a bit of a more difficult target. She pointed at the plant and Honeydew moved in for the attack. This time, the girl decided to the give the move a verbal que, calling out “Poison Sting!”

Honeydew hit the lily pad with correct accuracy, but when the plant remained bright and healthy, it became clear that it hadn't been injected with poison this time. Honeydew drooped in disappointed and Leafy refrained from giving her a treat this time. It appeared that injecting the poison needed to be a conscious effort on the Faeron's part.
"That's okay, you'll get it next time," Leafy told her.
Determined to try again, Honeydew hovered next to the lily pad and waited for Leafy's instruction. "Poison Sting!" the girl called out eagerly.
This time, the Faeron struck the lily pad with a ferocity that Leafy hadn't seen her have before. The plant quickly took on a sickly colour and Honeydew stared proudly back at her in triumph. Leafy cheered back and quickly handed her a treat for the perfect performance. It seemed that the Faeron had figured out how to get her poison to inject at will.

Leafy was quite impressed, but she knew that she would need to test Honeydew some more to see if she had properly learned the move. First, she needed another target. She settled on a larger target, a flimsy poplar tree. These trees were more like weeds than trees and the one she picked was young. It should be possible for Honeydew to poison it.
"Alright, Honeydew, use Poison Sting," Leafy commanded her.
The Faeron understood the task and got into position. The tree wasn't very tall, not even taller than Leafy yet. There was a split in the bark near the center of the trunk and Honeydew decided that she would aim for there. She hit the split in the trunk with the force of her tail. This time the tree did start to wilt, the sickly poison spreading up its branches and wilting the leaves. The girl was very impressed with the progress Honeydew had made.
