Jack looked over the board with a tilt of her head, she wasn't sure what to pick up right now... there was too much going on, but she thought about easing back into it without much worry. Giving a little sigh still, she frowned as she tried to find out, but then eventually settled on a relatively easy one for her first time out in... how long now? She pulled the listing from the board and looked it over once more before turning and heading toward the shopping district, straight for Herbologist's Delight.
Alura was a sweet old woman, and she was happy to help after all! The alure of cookies pulled her though, couldn't deny that much. Smiling, she opened the door and stepped inside, catching the smell of baked goods wafting out already. "Hey there Alura, thought I'd come help you out if you still need it?" Jack told her, showing her the notice from the quest board. A smile and a nod were her acknowledgement, and plans were set into place.

Cookies... weren't that hard were they? Jack smiled a little as she was led to the oven and a large are to prep the items. Tilting her head, she then washed her hands and got to work mixing some of the ingredients together. Flour, sugar, a little salt, some brown sugar. Melt the butter on the stove and mix that into the dry ingredients with a little vanilla and an egg. This... weirdly felt nice, she thought as she mixed it all together in a big mixing bowl, it had been way too long since she had taken time to do something like this she figured with a little chuckle. Sugar cookies....? Nope, not that this time she figured as she spotted a bowl of chocolate chips and grinned. There, mix some of those in and then dollop them into a baking sheet before popping them into the oven and set a timer.

For a moment, she took a deep breath and rolled her shoulders, letting them loosen and pop a little before she started to mix up some icing for the sugar cookies that were sitting there, ready to be decorated. Hmmm, royal icing or regular icing she could just glob on there and die from sugar overload? Nah, she wouldn't do that to Alura she thought as she started to mix up the royal icing. It was touchy stuff, not hard to make but it liked to harden pretty quickly she had found. Looking that the cookies, she mixed in a few colors and then started to pipe the designs onto the finished cookies. At least they had cooled enough to where they wouldn't make the icing run or anything, it would be alright. Nothing too fancy she figured, just... make them look like simplified animals she figured with a little nod as she worked on it.

Laughing a bit, Jack picked up one of the cookies gingerly and looked it over. Okay it looked alright she figured, hopefully Alura would think they were alright then. Frowning a little, she gave a little shrug and put it back onto the tray with the rest, lining them up as best as she could and making them presentable. It hadn't taken as long as she thought to decorate that batch though, and the chocolate chip cookies were ready to come out of the oven. Hauling the tray out, she smiled a little and sniffed the cookies, smelling the vanilla and chocolate together. Ah that was nice, it smelled delicious and she really hoped they were. All she could hope for was that Alura would be happy enough with them that she thought they were a job well done. Jack grimaced a little and shook her head, a couple more batches.... and then it would be okay.

The afternoon went by fairly quickly, and she knew she had some flour in her hair and on her clothing, probably a chocolate or vanilla smear on her cheek. Laughing, she looked at the entry to the kitchen and nodded at Alura before motioning toward the plates full of cookies. "I hope they're up to your standards! I... may have snagged one or two," she said, giving the older shopkeeper a sheepish look. Alura simply laughed and sampled one of the cookies, giving a nod and then folded up a cookie that had already been finished before she got there in a napkin and passed it over to Jack. Giving a smile, Jack gave a little wave and looked at the cookie eagerly as she walked back out, happy to have helped out. Alura was one of her favorite shopkeepers, and she hoped she had really helped her out as much as she thought she had!
