Current Quest
Having taking the note earlier from the quest board, she had gone home to take some preparations with her, more for her companion than the actual task, as squashing bugs is pretty easy, and she knows Kidaki has some form of fire, so if he feels inclined to help, he can easily do that. Its why she once more has him in harness and tied a rope to it and leading him to their destination. One hand a note clenched between the thumb and index finger, the other holding onto the rope. “This must be the place.” She murmurs towards Kidaki as he levitates closer to her shoulder, eyeing the piece of paper, and then the garden that definitely has a high number of caterpillars crawling in it and chewing on every leaf they can get to. “Oh boy.” She exclaims, eyeing the whole garden. Perhaps she should have taken something more along than a shovel. (1)

Opening the small gate, she unties the rope on Kidaki’s harness, and drops it. Allowing Kidaki to explore the garden more freely, which he does so easily, levitating to the closest plant with also the biggest caterpillars on it she has ever seen. He sniffs at one of them, but either the bug feels threatened, or dislikes anyone coming to close to it, as it curls up in a defensive way and lets loose hair? She hears Kidaki yelp when something stings his nose, growling in anger, he summons his flames to his paws and swipes at the plant the bugs are on. If they could emit sound, she has no doubt they would be screaming in pain when he did that. Yikes. Still, she can’t have him do all the work and destroying plants. Taking out of her pocket her gloves, she puts them on, and then taking off her backpack, she zips it open for the foldable shovel to be taken out and placed on the ground, then zips the backpack closed and place it back on her, taking care not to have the straps dig into her shoulders. Picking up the shovel she screws it a little loose at the parts that have the knobs so that she can straighten it, screws it tight, and feels ready to try it.

Since Kidaki feels slighted at being attacked by the bugs, and has started swiping with his flames at them, she kept careful watch that he isn’t going to overdo it, the garden isn’t a garden if all that is left is the burning remains of both plants and bugs. When Kidaki switched from the fiery red flames at his paws, to flames that are greenish-blue in hues, she felt herself untense, as she notes that only the bugs get targeted now, instead of both bugs and plants. “Good work Kidaki! Keep it up!” She says with a grin when Kidaki turns his gaze at her for a moment at the shout of praise. Confused for a moment, but perking up as he realizes why she wasn’t reprimanding him for destroying something. He continues using the strange fire with glee at every bug in sight. Grinning, she shakes her head at Kidaki’s eagerness, but she can’t have him do all the work. Seeing a couple of bugs crawling on the ground, she raises her shovel, and slams it on the bugs.

They splattered easily from the force of the hit, grinning she raises shovel once more, and hits another couple of bugs that were crawling under the plant. Slamming it heavily against them, when she raises it, all that remains is goop pretty much. One green smear on the soil and her shovel. The gardener really wasn’t kidding when he said in the note how bad the infestation is. At least she has one eager revenge filled cub that at least only targets the bugs now as a helper, she couldn’t stop the thought even if she tried as she grins at the spectacle that Kidaki makes. His tails keep flaring with each time he uses foxfire, and aims at every bug in sight. Growling loudly and shaking his head when one caterpillar landed on top of his head as it tried fleeing out of the tree, and was just unlucky enough to land on top of him.

Kidaki tried shaking it off his head, but when it turns out the caterpillar kept a firm grip on his fur, he tried scratching the bug of his head with much more success, flaming the bug once it landed on soil with a thorn up body. The pest didn’t stand a chance at all. Not from Kidaki’s methods, and neither from her own when she switched with hitting it with a shovel, to squeezing the bugs when with her leather covered hands till they burst.
She did think that perhaps she should at some point get a box and collect a couple of them to see what they could turn into, but she did already have a couple caterpillars of this size that look remarkable like this one.
She’d rather find out first how viable they will be after the cocoon stage they have still yet to go through. In the end, it took a few hours of searching to make certain that the infestation either is completely gone, or there were so few of those bugs now, that it would hardly be a problem for the gardener to deal with it on their own.
“Let’s go Kidaki!” She calls out in a cheerful tone as she gathers the leash, and have her shovel lean against her shoulder in order to carry it, not thinking for one moment to fold it back in to her bag, not with how dirty it ended up being after all those bugs that met their fatal end with it. “Mrew!” Just as cheerful, kidaki came up to her, levitating easily within her reach. His fur only a little bit dirty from ash that inevitable came with burning up bodies at too close a range. Deciding to give him a chance, she didn’t tie the rope back on the harness, and have him follow her as they left for home. She can always go to the Quest central building a couple of hours later to report of her success, right now she’d just want to go home and clean up the both of them..
