Half-Breed: Estuary (#001) BabyPower Level: 1 Stamina: 1 Strength: 0 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 2 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: Amphibious, Gleam Moves: Glass Spear Size Chart Reference: 1 JuviePower Level: 1 Stamina: 1 Strength: 0 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 2 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: Amphibious, Water Immunity, Gleam Moves: Claw, Glass Spear Size Chart Reference: 2 AdultCunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 30 mph (Running), 20 mph (Swimming) Power Level: 2 Stamina: 2 Strength: 2 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: Amphibious, Gleam, Water Immunity, Survival Instincts Moves: Claw, Glass Spear, Hidden Mist Size Chart Reference: 3 These creatures are most at home in or around water. Their thick fur traps pockets of air that keep them warm in cold water and thick oils help them dry off within minutes. With razor sharp claws, horns bristling from their brow, and a tail fin as sharp as a knife, these fluffy monsters might look fearsome, but are surprisingly friendly. With just a few minutes of getting to know you, these creatures will roll over onto their side to invite you to play. Should you take the invitation and touch their bellies, they'll grab you with lightning fast reaction speeds to gnaw on your hand... but never hard enough to break skin. They're aggressively curious as well. Doing anything in their presence will have them shoving their head under your elbow just to see what you're up to, which can be highly unpleasant if they just got out of the water. However, that's as close as these huge softies will ever come to hurting you.

Half-Breed: Ipheri (#002) AdultCunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: Running 45 mph, Flying 30 mph Power Level: 6 Stamina: 6 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 10 Special Abilities: Fly, Ethereal, Earth Immunity Moves: Psychic Distortion, Earthshake Size Chart Reference: 6 Tall and stately, these beasts act above it all in more ways than one as they soar over the land. Their covered gaze still somehow pierces out into the distance as if they can see something you cannot, their minds a little bit elsewhere at all times. Those ponderings over the workings of the world are not a concern for mortal minds however, and when snapped out of their reverie these creatures are quite helpful. Without making a sound or needing to be asked, they commonly follow those smaller and weaker than them into unsafe areas to ward off danger, their very presence making predators think twice about approaching. And if something does approach they are a force to be reckoned with, bearing terrifying psychic powers that can twist and tear apart the psyche of their foes and the ground beneath them. After all, "be not afraid" doesn't mean there's nothing to be afraid of. It just means that you're on their good side.

Half-Breed: Snarfilly (#003) AdultCunning: 2 Critter Average Top Speed: 15 mph Power Level: 3 Stamina: 5 Strength: 2 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Survival Instincts, Natural Antivenom, Fire Weakness, Acid Fang Moves: Deceptive Lure, Ebil Nom, Euphoric Goop Size Chart Reference: 5 These stuffed, cuddly creatures want nothing more than to sit in your lap and snuggle with you... which is unfortunate, considering they're the size of a horse. At first glance they appear to be made entirely of fabric and stuffing, and you'd be mostly right. They are actually made of fabric, stuffing, and acid. Given that they're animate, living things, they have an innate desire to eat as all creatures do. But considering they're made out of artificial materials with no real sense of self-preservation, they don't really seem to know what they should be eating. That, combined with their large mouths (due to their proportionally large heads) means they have a tendency to snack on a huge variety of non-food items. They'll shove pretty much anything down their throats if they think they can get away with it- garbage, clothing, scrap metal, your house keys. Luckily, getting them back is a piece of cake- all you have to do is put on some acid resistant gloves and shove a hand down their throat. They don't have a gag reflex, their devouring instinct really only carries over to the act of eating (and not keeping it IN their stomachs), and they love you oh so much, so they'll allow you to do whatever you want to them... Including pulling a whole bicycle out of their gullet. Their stuffing is soaked through with powerful acid, making the digestion of these objects a piece of cake. However sometimes something particularly large and sharp will slip through the cracks, bursting a seam or tearing a patch of fabric. Even this is trivial to them. These creatures cannot feel pain, so they'll happily walk along trailing stuffing and acid until somebody patches them back up, at which point their bodies will heal the wound effortlessly.

Half-Breed: Not yet named! (#004) AdultCunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: Crawling 10 mph Power Level: 3 Stamina: 5 Strength: 2 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Amphibious, Physical Resistance Moves: Bubble Spray, Big Bubble, Telekinesis, Tail Strike, Healing Drop Size Chart Reference: 2 This creature rarely touches the ground, its arrival heralded by a flurry of bubbles. It has no wings, but instead leaps from bubble to bubble as it summons them one after the other. Even when it sleeps it simply creates a particularly large bubble and sleeps inside it, safe and sound. These bubbles are supernaturally strong and bouncy, allowing it to reach great heights simply by using its own magic. Even they're caught off guard and knocked down they have surprisingly resilient bodies, bouncing like rubber once they hit the ground. In terms of personality, these little creatures are friendly, affectionate, and curious, but have a mischievous streak as well. It's not uncommon for them to steal food off the table, slip into a room they aren't allowed in the moment you open the door, or throw themselves between your face and the book you're reading just to get some attention. Their confidence, curiosity, resilience, and ability to get into tight spaces means that they can be quite a handful to care for, but they're just as happy to care for you back, with their whiskery little "kisses" healing small bumps and scrapes.

Half-Breed: Not yet named! (#005) AdultCunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 35 mph Running Power Level: 3 Stamina: 3 Strength: 1 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 6 Special Abilities: Flutter, Magical Touch, Poisonous Skin, Acid Immunity, Shadow Resistance Moves: Pull The Ether, Shadow Meld, Plague of Insects, Plague Breath Size Chart Reference: 3 When it comes to venomous creatures, they say that the smaller the beast, the more potent the poison. These creatures are no exception- though they do not use fangs to spread their toxins. Standing no higher than one's hip, these creatures are in fact highly magical beasts, able to summon plagues, control the elements, and even teleport by melting into the shadows. Cold and mysterious, these creatures display little external body language to imply their internal state, and instead to prefer to stare unnervingly at their targets. Highly intelligent, they carefully size up their prey from a distance before deciding to attack. Death comes from a distance, surrounding and swarming, choking the lungs and burning the eyes. When the stricken creature finally falls, this creature approaches, taking the most choice cuts for itself. However despite their intelligence and dangerous powers, these creatures are not outright aggressive. They are fully omnivorous and if offered an alternative diet and given no reason to fight, they're more than happy to be polite and keep themselves amused by preening their little wings, arranging shiny rocks in various patterns, practicing their magic... and staring at you.

Half-Breed: Quartzoneta (#006) BabyStamina: 1 Strength: 0 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 1 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: Gleam, Swim Moves: Burrow, Web, Sphere of Life AdultCunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: Running 20 mph, Digging 2 mph Power Level: 1 Stamina: 1 Strength: 1 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 1 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: Gleam, Water Resistance, Swim Moves: Burrow, Web, Claw, Sphere of Life Size Chart Reference: -1 Imagine being trapped in an underwater cave in the depths of the earth. Rock pushes in all around you, scraping against your sides and belly. It's pitch black for as far as you can see, with only the knife of your flashlight's blade cutting through the gloom. Your lungs burn- your oxygen tanks ran out minutes ago, and your own time is running short as well. Panicked scrabbling through the tunnels before finally- a sign of hope. A gleaming membrane on the ceiling the silver lining of a storm cloud; an air pocket. You swim towards it as best you can while your vision clouds and goes black before finally bursting into the air. It's dank, hardly fresh, but breathable, a taste that's never been so sweet. And then a swarm of softball sized carnivorous spiders drop directly onto your face. These halfbreeds don't make very good pets for arachnophobes. For those that don't mind arachnids however, they're quite nice. These spiders live in swarms ranging from four individuals to as many as twenty, and they work in tandem to survive in their subterranean and underwater homes. They possess strong digging claws made of crystal with additional spurs to help them push through dense earth, digging far faster as a team then they ever could alone. Together they make tunnels branching off of underwater caves, using their natural elemental powers to supply these pockets with breathable air, both for themselves (as they cannot breathe underwater) and for their prey. When a creature surfaces they take advantage of the sudden change from water to air to surprise them, working as a team to subdue them with webs and claws. Working together in this way allows these halfbreeds to take down prey much larger than themselves, allowing all members of the swarm to have plenty to eat and plenty of spare time between meals. They spend this time grooming each other, spinning strange, artistic patterns into their webs, and putting on dazzling flashing light shows from their abdomens. Seeing as they're a highly social species, it isn't difficult for a person to integrate themselves into the swarm with enough offerings of food... though they'll probably always pity you for your awful weaving skills.

Half-Breed: Not yet named! (#007) AdultCunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: Running 35 mph Power Level: 2 Stamina: 1 Strength: 2 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Prismatic Refraction, Gleam, Earth Resistance Moves: Claw, Nip, Crystalline Power Size Chart Reference: 1 Locked in a permanent state of kittenhood, these halfbreeds will never lose their childhood sense of curiosity- not that it's likely to kill these cats. These little creatures are surprisingly resilient, possessing a hard crystalline skeleton that extends from their body in certain places. That, combined with their natural powers over the earth, grants these little beasts a strong sense of confidence. Completely fearless despite their small size, they're the type to leave no stone unturned. In the time they don't spend sleeping, they enjoy digging through their cavernous home for anything unusual. Their nests are thus frequently lined with valuable gems and ores, but also feathers, string, insect chitin, and any other little bits of debris or garbage that they might find pretty- or perhaps just fun to play with. That being said, they're just as curious about their owners as well, finding them as fascinating as any pebble. They'll love rubbing up against your legs- just before attacking your shoelaces. Still, while they might be kittenlike in personality and therefore sweet but immature, their naturally inquisitive nature means they're always looking forward to new things and are thus quite easy to train.

Half-Breed: Not yet named! (#008) AdultCunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: Running 100 mph, Flying 100 mph Power Level: 6 Stamina: 5 Strength: 4 Resistance: 5 Dexterity: 12 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Danger Sense, Fly, Wind Resistance Moves: Claw, Bite, Silence, Shadow Meld Size Chart Reference: 4 A creature stands alone in an empty field. It stands, you blink- and then it has fallen, cut to ribbons in an instant by an unseen entity. Did it come under attack from an invisible beast? A ghost? No. It was simply struck by this halfbreed. Able to run at incredible speeds, its body is designed not for strength or intelligence, but to withstand the effort required just to move at that pace. Its eyes are covered with clear domes that it sheds at regular intervals so dust blowing into it at that speed doesn't blind them. Its limbs are reinforced so the sheer force of striking an opponent while moving at that speed doesn't rip their legs off. Every inch of their body is built as lightly as possible and feels polished to the touch for aerodynamics. Their claws grow at twice the speed of their mosca parent and shed in layers to allow them to maintain grip on the ground. On closer inspection they don't look particularly sharp, the clawtips worn down by running- but they don't need to be. The strength behind a strike at the high speeds they can reach focused into such a small spot causes catastrophic damage; such that the resulting wounds resemble gunshots or perhaps the aftermath of a car crash. They can fly as well, albeit not for long periods of time, and their method of flight is less "nimble and adroit" and more "heat seeking missile". Heat seeking missile describes these creatures' focus as well- once given a target, they will not hesitate and will not stop until their opponent is down, striking again and again until the target is destroyed. They are merciless, focused, vicious, and also extremely anxious if you leave them without anything to do. While their parent species were relatively aloof and difficult to train, these halfbreeds' minds move so quickly that they need constant stimulation and without it they have a tendency to panic. As a result, they tend to follow their owners around, constantly awaiting their next task. If they aren't given an assignment, they pace, chew on themselves, chew on your furniture, or just scream for hours with a horrible, clicking shriek because... hey, why not. A mind that moves that quickly gets bored quickly, and their hyperactive senses mean that they'll start registering threats in empty air if they aren't given something else to focus on. Owners of these are advised to keep them busy and calm with plenty of toys, room to roam, and perhaps even a more relaxed companion to be friends with.
