The stallion takes the piece of apple quite quickly, but gently of course. Renathan pets the stallion's nose carefully with his hand as he ate the treat. The morning was beginning to grow a softer kind of light, the lavender in the sky having spread to most of the great hemi-sphere that Renathan could easily observe. The stars were still full-force, of course, but the day would be approaching within the next hour or so. Renathan waits until the stallion finished his treat before continuing with the training. Renatahn replaces the stick in the stallion's mouth again. He wanted to make sure that the behavior was very well taken by the stallion. "Drop." He repeated. The stallion dropped the stick into his hand. At this, Renathan repeated the process until he felt confident with the trick being remembered by the stallion well enough. Renathan soon did feel very confident that the stallion would drop anything held in his mouth at the command.

After Renathan was okay with the stallion's progress on the simple drop command, he was ready to mount back up in the saddle and start training one of the next mount behaviors he wanted to see from the bay equillion. Renathan throws the stick across the grass away from the pair and then hops up onto the stallion's back, hoisting himself into the saddle with Shy Guy's help. Renathan settles himself into the saddle without difficulty, and then begins to decide how to convey faster and slower to the stallion. He did not want to use verbal commands because he did not want anyone else to be able to figure them out and use them on him if they were in a dire battle. However, he didn't want something that could be accidentally perceived as another of their behaviors either. Renathan eventually decides on a tap on both sides for 'go faster' and a tap and hold for 'go slower'.

Renathan asks the stallion to move forward with the new command, and the stallion performs the action perfectly. At this, Renathan then taps both of the stallion's sides with his heels, and the sensitive creature instinctively spooks a small amount, and moves forward at a quicker rate. Renathan was pleased at this, and brings the stallion to a stop before giving him a piece of treat for his efforts. Shy Guy is, as per the usual at this point, confused a bit, but he does tend to pick things up quickly. Renathan leans forward on the saddle the pet him, and when he was finished with his treat, the mammalian starts him walking forward again. Soon enough, Renathan gives him that tap on both sides of his body with his heels; the signal to go faster. The stallion doesn't quite spook this time, but Renathan repeats the action, forcing him into a slight amble.

Renathan was happy that the stallion had started forward quickly; but he repeats the action to move him into a run. He was gentle with the creature, to make sure that he didn't hurt him of course, but the quick movement still made Shy Guy a little nervous. Renathan asks the equillion to stop, and then gives him a good treat for his difficulties, all the while petting him to calm him down and let him know he was doing a great job. Renathan waits until he is finished with his treat, and then continues with the training; asking him to move forward. The stallion begins walking, and then with the slightest tap moves faster. With the next tap; he was nearly running. Yet Another tap seemed to unlock that competitive drive in him, however, and his gait simply opens up into a four-beated run faster than he's seen any equine go.

It seemed like they were doing this easily enough, Renathan figures, as he asks the stallion to stop and gives him yet another treat of the crisp pink apple slices and pets his mane. Yes, this was going quite well! After the bay equillion is completed with his treat savoring, Renathan asks him to move forward again. He moves the stallion into a faster gait, and then gently presses on both sides and pulls back a little, making the creature move forward for just a moment, before stopping due to it feeling somewhat like the stop command. Renathan coaxes the creature forward yet again and figures that he was going to have to use a different method. He doesn't have to think long before his hands wound up in the equillion's mane. Yes, that was it! Renathan pulls ever so gently back on the bottom part of the equillion's mane, and the creature instinctively slows up a bit.

Renathan asks the equillion to stop at this, and gives him another piece of apple for his trouble. Shy Guy takes to this incredibly well, happy to receive a treat. Renathan was learning so much about the bodies of equillion and the natural inclinations of at least his creature, so he was very glad to have received the chance to work with this creature. Renathan waits until the stallion finishes his treat before continuing the training; asking him to move forward yet again. He tests the slight pull on the mane to make sure that the creature would slow down reliably, and treated him when he did so. After the equillion finishes his treat, Renathan worked for a while on slowing the equillion down and then speeding him back up in quick bursts, to make sure that the training was holding, interspersed with treats until he finally weaned the creature off of them. At this, he was pleased with the faster and slower commands. The creature was becoming a better mount quickly!

After finishing up the turning left and right training, Renathan takes a moment to breathe, hopping off of the stallion's back and standing close to the fence. The inside of his thighs ached a little; he had been riding a lot more than he had been recently as of late; and that made him a little out of practice. He really could feel it! Renathan takes out a water bottle from his backpack and raises it to his lips so that he could drink. The stallion watches him from the spot where Renathan dismounted. Soon, Renathan leans back up and goes to take the tack off of the stallion for the day. All of the pieces are removed, effectively freeing the stallion from his work mode. The large creature shakes himself off a little, and trots forward, toward the nearby brook. Renathan follows him at a leisurely pace, enjoying watching the stallion dance across the dewy morning grass.

Renathan could easily see himself training another equillion after Shy Guy's training was mostly finished. He'd been working on the training for a while, easily four months, and the stallion was taking to it like he took to water. Renathan could never have been happier with a creature's progress. It was only matched by his avian, Auburn's progress. Renathan picks up the pace to catch up with the slower-walking stallion, and they both make it to the brook at the same time; of course because the equillion slowed up a bit. Renathan watches contentedly as the stallion drinks from the chilly waters of the brook. The sky was entirely lavender on one side, and starting to get red on the other side- the sun hadn't peeked all the way up yet, but it was going to soon. Renathan had the entire day left; but he was already feeling a little stuck in the training for the moment.

The stallion finally stands up from his lowered position of drinking water to look at Renathan for any body cues. He noticed that the mammalian was standing up and looking at the sky. The equillion throws his head back a bit, trying to look at the sky himself. Eventually, he is able to sit down, and look up quite well enough. Renathan notices this soon after, and chuckles, then he pets him gently, his fingers in the mane of the creature. Renathan really did live for these moments where he could be calm with his creatures. After a moment, the sun began making it's debut; a tiny sliver of pink-red showing up on the horizon just above the trees. Renathan looks up at the stars themselves; most still showing up, and the moon; a waxing gibbous, still standing in the sky. The moon would be disappearing soon enough, Renathan knew. It was a calm morning.

The morning itself was beginning to shape up. Long before the dew on the grass had began to form, leaving pearly strands across the soft sweetgrass. The air was much cooler than it probably should have been for a summer morning; fall had began to settle in without the trees being any the wiser as of yet. A cool breeze floats across the ground, pushing the grass around gently- away from the sun. The sun was just coming up, and was just hardly casting shadows at the foot of the trees. Renathan was quiet now, enjoying watching the stars twinkle and the sun come up. As the sun made it's ascent, more and more stars were disappearing, and it was nearly surreal. Every time Renathan watched this he felt like he was in some other world; it was hard to believe that the sunrise could be so pretty. The stallion did not think such things, of course, instead he enjoyed stretching out in the wet grass.

The stallion rolls over on his back, kicking his legs up in the air a bit. Renathan is distracted from watching the sky to laugh at the stallion's antics in a bit of surprise. Shy Guy finally rolls back over and sits up. His fur and mane were a mess now, and Renathan inwardly whines, knowing that he was going to have to give the stallion an entire bath now, and not just the dry shampoo. However, it was a little too funny for him to be too upset. Renathan pets the stallion's head gently and reassuringly, and then looks back up. The sun was already halfway up, and the stars were really starting to hide now. The moon was beginning to fade a little, but it would be a while still yet before the moon left. Renathan decides that he wants to spend the rest of the day doing something other than training; so he leads the equillion up, and gathers their things. Time to go exploring elsewhere!

Renathan was back again; and he was back for a different reason this time. Sure, training was to be had, but he had a lot to do, and very little time to do it in. He felt like there was a bit of a hole in their battle training plans, and it was going to be a mess. Renathan had decided a long time back to get an electrical injection for his equillion, but he hadn't really used it before now because he didn't want to cause any issues when he was working to gain the spirited creature's loyalty. However, if he didn't watch it, Shy Guy would follow him everywhere around his home, so he hoped that the bond was strong enough that the little stick wouldn't cause any trouble. Renathan carefully leads the stallion using the hackamore he'd had made especially for him; so as not to bother his fangs.

Renathan leads the stallion out to the corral and opens it up, the large and often rather rowdy creature was docile in his lead; a testament to the tamer-beast bond Renathan had worked very hard to get to working. Renathan was quiet for a moment, and then he pulled a small syringe out of a case from his backpack quite practiced-ly. He'd used so many of these on his creatures over time he'd been here, so it wasn't like he didn't know how to do this. Renathan looked up, and into the stallion's pale blue eyes, letting him know with a quick glance that he was going to hurt him a small bit. They had so much time together that even the smallest twitches in the stallion's body could be understood so easily by Renathan. Not as clearly as words, but he was so used to the creature. It worked both ways.

Renathan only hesitated a moment more before using the injection; right into the stallion's haunch, he knew it wouldn't hurt the creature at all; Shy Guy probably got bit by flies more painful than the pinprick the needle would have. The stallion's hide twitched a bit, but he otherwise did not at all move. Renathan pulled the spent injection back, and quickly put the spent bit back into it's holster and in the bag. The stallion didn't seem phased at all; and Renathan wasn't sure what to think at all. Well, the creature did not erupt into a blast of electricity, or go invisible or anything ridiculous than that. That was a good sign, right? Injections were not an exact science, but Renathan did know that he picked this element for a reason. He figured that most, if not all, swimming creatures needed something to keep them safe from their number one weakness; electricity.

Renathan was hoping that the stallion would give him some indication as to what kind of new powers it had, most of his creatures did. Then again, most of them erupted into flames, grew barklike bodies, began to produce cold, or some other strange and near-immediate quirk. As of right now, the equillion was not doing any of those strange things, or anything like them. He'd pretty much been banking on the creature crackling with electricity afterward. These injections had always worked before; so he didn't think that it was any fault of the injection itself. He was quiet for a moment, and then patted the stallion on the side. "Brave, brave boyo. Yup, very brave." He said quietly, and then he moved to the front of the equillion, and patted him on the face, gently on the muzzle. The bright blue eyes of the stallion were focused on him quietly, calmly.
