Home, a soft couch, that was all she needed right now. Maybe a blanket or something but that could wait for the moment. She rested for a brief moment, could see Renathan turn away for a little bit through fluttering eyes, but thought it best not to bother him. This had affected him as well as her, though hers was more physical, his was emotional and mental. It would be rough but they could get through it. She really just hoped her leg would be normal and not crippled anymore. That was the dream.
What did she need? She thought with her eyes closed and game small sigh which turned into a yawn. "Blanket? Maybe food? Have plenty, you eat too," she managed, still not complete sentences, but at least coherent. Her head sank into the pillow at the end of the couch and she sighed again, exhausted. It was going to be awhile before everything grew back, but until then, it would be rough.

Renathan nodded sweetly to her, knowing that she was going through a lot more than he was. He figured that this would also give him some time to calm down and process through this by himself a bit. Yeah, it was probably going to take him a while. He felt strangely calm now, perhaps because he could finally feel Lisle's more purposeful, almost purring-thrum feeling emotions being pushed through the link. Yeah, Lisle was good at the link, Renathan was bad at it. It probably made his creatures feel tortured, sometimes. Training creatures from the Labs were just like that.
Renathan gently patted Jack's head, gently touching the hair just barely as the gentlest expression of care he could muster right now, and then he swept off to go find the blankets. He'd been in her home before, so he kind of had a decent idea where a lot of things were. He followed the densest areas of her scent in the home to find a blanket that he figured was safe to say she must use a bit, and he collected it up in his arms. He took it to her and covered her with it, carefully draping it over her. "Do you want it tucked under you?" He asked gently. If she did, he would, if not, he wouldn't. Either way, he then swept off again, to go to the kitchen.
He chuckled as the jibiji dashed after him. "Auburn, don't you know it's impolite to beg for food..." He said gently, and then he searched in his pouch for some seeds. He threw her a darkened seed, and felt a good laugh settle in his chance when she tried to catch it and missed; bouncing off of her beak-muzzle hybrid. She dashed, sliding across the floor after it. He was beginning to feel normal, but he was still shaking hard.
Renathan dug around in the fridge for a little bit, and found the closest and quickest things he could make. He began cooking, thinking she may want a hot meal, making sure to select the cooking implements she had last time. Her things were a lot different than the ones he was used to using, but he was able to make something edible, anyway. Renathan plated it, two plates, and then began washing the dishes to allow the food to cool down a bit. He hadn't made a lot of dishes anyway.
He was trying to feel normal. Renathan returns to the room he left Jack in, and sat the food down near her. He placed his across from hers, and knelt by her side. "Can you eat, Jack, or do you need me to feed you?" His voice was gentle. Auburn sneaked up and snatched the pouch of seeds at this point, and just barely managed to get it open.
Renathan didn't even notice.

Jack shook her head no with a little smile, she was a bit cold from all the blood loss, but still managed to muster the strength to pull it up under her chin and fell asleep before he had even left the room to go cook. Her sleep was fitful, all she could do was see the tree falling on her again, and when she awoke and fell back to sleep, it then started to fall on Renathan instead of herself. It was frightening, she had never been one for nightmares, but these would certainly qualify, it would seem.
When Renathan woke her up by asking her a question, she was covered in a thin sheen of sweat and she stared at him for a moment, brown eyes digging into his a little before she looked him over to make sure he was still alright. Nodding, she breathed a small sigh of relief before she looked over at the plate of food. It looked amazing and she had woken up completely ravenous. "I'll try," she said with a little smile and reached out for his hand to help her into a sitting position. Her leg was a little longer and growing thicker as well it seemed, which was certainly a good thing, all things considered, and she was awake enough to try and figure things out for herself. Maybe she shouldn't push herself too hard though, but that's what she tended to do when she wasn't feeling well, just push herself until she started feeling better, just go through the pain, the agony, the distress, and everything would work out in the end of it all.
"Auburn..." Jack said with a little smile at the Izer, she had noticed her dig into the pouch of goodies at Renathan's side, even if he hadn't. She liked the little bird, and she only hoped her own Tobi would be half the bird she was. Sleeping for a bit had loosened her tongue a bit, and she looked over at Renathan with a charmed look in her eyes, "Thank you, Renathan, for helping." Still not huge sentences, but it was a start, and she was no longer in a large amount of pain, which certainly helped.

"What did she-" He asked, and then turned towards where he thought Auburn was. She wasn't there? Renathan was quiet for a moment, and glanced down at where Auburn was, both surprised that she had opened the seed pouch and simultaneously completely not shocked at all. That was just so Auburn. Renathan shook his head, chuckling, and took the utensil in his hand, pulling some of the food on it. He would ignore Auburn's antics at the moment. Jack was more important for now. Renathan brought it closer to Jack, not right up to her mouth or anything. "I don't know if you can eat on your own, but you need to eat sweetie." He said, softly. He held the bowl in his other hand carefully, to where if she wanted it he could hand it to her instead, but if she needed help, he could help her.
He was glad to see that her leg was growing a bit, and he was both suddenly concerned and also somewhat scared; he'd never seen or heard of anything like this before. Now that he had the chance to think about it instead of just getting her to safety, Renathan was not sure what to think. Magic was a strange thing, a strange thing that he didn't completely understand, and he hadn't been aware that it could do something like regrow a limb. There were still some things he didn't know about his own magic, so he didn't know what to think about it.
Auburn picked up each seed using her paws messily and then carefully shelled them and eat them, watching the two humanoids do what the did to eat. She was really hardly paying attention; she loved seeds. The little shell casings would normally be discarded outside, but since she wasn't in a place she knew very well, she was hiding them in her bushy fur.
Great, Renathan was going to have to pick those out later.

Jack chuckled and nodded her head before accepting the food in front of her that he was offering. It was delicious as it was and he had made it without knowing enough about how she cooked and what she really cooked with. He had watched her before, of course, but it took a little more than that to remember, she felt, either that or he was more amazing than she already thought he was. She smiled at him a little between bites, adoration in her eyes. A lot of people might have left her where she was, but he wasn't one of them and it really showed. He had stayed so strong for her as well, though she knew it had to have been hard on him to see all that as well. He hadn't felt it, but he had gone through it just like she had, she needed to remember that whenever she was all better. If the Workshop had been open, she might have made him something else, but who knew. She would figure something out eventually, she knew she would, but that was going to be chiefly on her mind for awhile now.
Stretching out a bit, she stared at the strange growth under the blanket. She was varying between hot and cold at the moment, one second sweating, the next, shivering, and wondered if she had a touch of a fever at the moment, it wouldn't surprise her if she did. After she was done eating, she wearily reached up with the back of a hand and touched it to her forehead. She felt hot to herself, but people always felt hot to themselves. "Fever?" she asked Renathan, concern on her face as she bundled under the blanket again from feeling cold once more. While it would be bad to have a fever while she was growing a new limb, she hoped it wouldn't affect it when it came down to it. "Medicine in the bathroom," the woman finished, nodding toward where it was from her location in the living room of her farmhouse.

Renathan quietly spooned the food to her, making sure to get just enough for her so as not to make a mess or make it uncomfortable for her. He couldn't help but smile beneath the mask... Ah. The Mask. He'd forgotten to take it off once he came inside! Renathan had been so stressed that he hadn't even thought about it once. Renathan made sure that Jack got all of the food she needed, and when she finishes, he puts the bowl down on the table, and the spoon down in the bowl. His own food was left forgotten at the moment. He carefully takes off his mask and lays it down on the table beside his own forgotten bowl.
He wasn't sure why he thought about it now, but he was really thinking about making Jack one of those petal rings he had designed, a really nice one, perhaps with that green metal? He could imagine the green metal and a gorgeous smattering of blue gemstone across it... But which one? It would be a perfect gift for her. He almost wished he could tell her; but then it wouldn't be a surprise.
Auburn seemed to finish her little seeds for the moment being, and she left the pouch on the ground without a second thought. The tiny bird popped between Renathan and Jack suddenly, looking up at Jack with bright silver eyes. Concern flashing across them; almost too human-like. Ah, familiars were strange. She wanted to get up on the couch, and leaned up, her little paws on the couch; staring Jack in the eyes the entire time.
Renathan chuckled at the tiny jibiji, and then looked concerned at the next word. "Fever?" He reached out, and gently placed a leathery palm against Jack's forehead. Yes, that was at least a bit of one. He stood up, forgetting the jibiji for the moment, and walked in the direction Jack had indicated. He looked into a room and was pleased to find that it did indeed look like a bathroom. Ha; first try! Renathan looked around high and low, and then finally decided that a medicine must be in the cabinet or something. After searching for a bit, Renathan walked back towards the living room with the medicine; or at least he hoped it would work for her fever. Renathan wasn't used to the kinds of medicines Pethians used.

A smile bloomed across her face when he took the mask off after she finished eating. It was a sign of trust at least, and she knew he trusted her, he'd taken off his mask in front of her before. It was something she enjoyed, when he could be himself around her, she knew it was a big thing where he came from, and that was fine she figured with a little chuckle in her head. "Hi," she managed before he went off to get her some medicine. She was hot now, but knew a chill would come soon so she didn't throw off her blanket. If she could sweat some of it out, that would be even better, and as the leg kept growing, she knew she would be able to take a long soak in the tub, or even take a shower once it was big enough for her to put some weight on it.
"Thank you," she told him, taking the medicine and settling down a bit into the couch. She felt her eyes starting to droop and she yawned big before glancing over at the food he had made but hadn't eaten yet. "Eat please, while I sleep," Jack told him, a serious look on her face, though she couldn't be taken too seriously with how exhausted she looked from her growing limb. Slowly her eyes closed, and the noise around her sounded like it was in a tunnel, and then she fell into a deep, deep sleep after murmuring his name, "Renathan..."

Renathan didn't think a whole lot about the mask most times. It almost felt like a natural part of his face, he'd been wearing it for so long. The mask was an important coming-of-age rite for his people. Only young children didn't wear masks; and they worked fervently to make theirs for when the time came. However, he also was not quite used to wearing them in homes, it was generally impolite to come home and wear a mask with your loved ones; though it was just as impolite to take one off in front of friends and acquaintances. A very complex practice, now that he was on the outside looking in. Pethia was weird like that.
Renathan handed the medicine over and watched curiously for a moment as Jack appeared to get sleepy. Whenever she mentioned the food, he looked over to it. How had he forgotten to eat? He picked up his bowl. The food was now cooling, but he didn't mind; Renathan had eaten all kinds of things before and slightly cool food wouldn't bother him at all. Renathan chuckled as she fell asleep, in between a bite of food and another one. He was glad that she seemed to be doing fine.
As fine as you could be doing whenever your leg just got cut off and was growing back. He tried not to feel sick as he was shoveling food. It wasn't that it was gross or that he hadn't seen worse, he was a hunter after all (all of his people were- if they were not herders, despite all of their technology), but it was just... It was Jack. That part made him feel sick a bit.
Whenever Auburn finally did gently jump on the couch, he raised a hand as if to call her down, and then just let her. She found a spot on the arm of the couch, and put her front paws beneath her fluff, turning into a 'loaf' like a feline would have. She closed her little silver eyes, and Renathan focused on that for the time being; listening to Jack's breathing and the cute little soft trills that Auburn was making.
This was almost nice.

There were vague dreams, almost nightmares, but none that woke her up through the night, and none that she would remember in the morning, when she awoke, famished. She sat up a bit and pulled the blanket off of herself, staring down at a leg that was almost the size of her other one. It seemed strong enough to try to walk on, though she would be a little lopsided until the magic wore off, but that was fine, she wanted to try it. Oh, but Renathan would have a fit if she did... "Renathan?" she asked, looking around for a moment. It looked like Auburn had been on the couch with her at one point, and she smiled as she tried to pull herself around, her legs swinging around so she sat at the edge of the couch, feet touching the floor. Expecting to hurt, she winced, but was surprised when nothing happened. Did this not hurt? She was used to it hurting! This would wear off eventually, it had to, must be the magic at the moment, she really didn't know, but she liked this feeling. There were deep aches in her leg, but she felt that was the growth, nothing like what she used to feel with the old leg.
Pausing a moment, she took a deep breath and almost tried to stand up before catching herself and shaking her head. Not a good idea to try for the first time on her own, not while Renathan was still around. If he wasn't around still, then she would get one of her animals to help her out, the house was big enough for at least one of her bigger animals at least. "Renathan?" Jack called again, touching her unscarred, still growing leg.

Auburn was thoroughly asleep, but as soon as Jack began to move one of her little round white ears perked up, twitching, and she made a surprised mrr-trll. She opened a single eye, and tried to rub against the nearest thing out of habit; rubbing the entire side of her head suddenly against the back of the couch. Woops, it seems like she missed a lot, when it came to those vicious head rubs. What a little cad!
Renathan was laying on the opposite side of the room, his head tilted back; and was that... Snoring? How un-gentleperson-like! It must be a bit hard to get comfortable sleeping whenever you have a full rack of antlers on your head that never fell off. He looked like a mess, his entire body curled up in tails (his race tended to use them as covers a lot) and his arms crossed over his chest. He was leaning up against a wall. As soon as his name was said the second time, he perked up, nearly jerking awake, and leapt to his feet, nearly bumping his head against the wall.
When he realized it was Jack, he immediately calmed down, his fur smoothing back down, his shoulders lowering a bit. "Jack, are you okay?" He was concerned, at first, but after the sleep was successfully rubbed from his eyes, he noticed that Jack seemed to be okay, if not still growing that leg a bit. His voice softened from the concern that had been deep in his voice before. "Do you need me to help you with anything?"

"I'm fine, I think. Starving, but fine," Jack told him with a smile as she sat there, legs dangling over the front of the couch. She could actually speak in sentences now, which was remarkable considering how she was just the day before. It felt as though her fever had broken and she felt disgusting from it, but that would be better with a quick (long, hot) shower. She didn't know what she wanted first, food or a shower, but settled on food when her stomach rumbled so loudly she thought it moved her for a moment. A sheepish look was thrown to Renathan and she held out her hands for help up, "If you help me up, I can test this out really quickly. I think I should be able to walk if I lean on you. I need to eat." That was first and foremost on her mind right now, food and walking, and she figured she might as well try out walking when trying to get some food at this point. There wasn't a lot left to grow with the leg, but enough to make it awkward if she tried to walk without assistance.
Huh... where was her walking stick anyway? She'd like to keep it, even if she didn't need it anymore. It was probably still at the Park, and if not, she would just get herself a new one, or carve herself a new one, at that. Jack smiled happily and stretched out her shoulders, it felt good to be awake and not in much pain, just the deep aches in her leg.
"Sorry, I know it's not comfortable to sleep in a chair, you could have slept in my room though..." Jack trailed off, knowing he wouldn't have left her side even if he wanted to, most likely.

Renathan immediately nodded, noting that she looked quite a bit better; if not a little icky from the day before. Humans sweat; he tended not to- wet fur would suck and he could only imagine what that would be like. He hoped that she would be able to walk soon, though it kind of felt like a miracle already that she was even alive. He was beginning to feel the tinges of guilt from what happened the day before. The branch hadn't been his fault, had it? Still, it was abnormal for him not to feel it, especially since he was usually very good at figuring out when danger was about to occur. It had saved his life in the sarane breakings more than once.
Renathan moved forward, and bent low to help her up, putting his shoulder under her shoulder on one side to try to help her up. He didn't mind. It was kind of uncanny, how he seemed to always know where his antlers were, and keep his head tilted away in such a way as not to hurt people with them. He'd had them for a long time, after all. Renathan chuckled, and spoke quietly to her since she was right next to him now. "I didn't feel comfortable leaving you, Jack." Then he heaved a bit, and figured that if she could stand even slightly, that she would be able to get up.
"Let's go get you some breakfast, your body is probably starved from making that leg." He hadn't really mentioned it before now, but he figured he better start making it normal. This was normal. Normal for them, he thought.
Auburn looked excited, judging by Renathan's words, she knew what 'breakfast' was. She'd been with him for a long while now, after all! She wanted food too, so she stood up, arching her back in a stretch and holding out her wings. She fluffed up all over for a moment; the tail especially looking like a puffball, and then she slicked back down with a quick yawn. Yes, she was ready to eat too! She would follow them to the kitchen on four light feet.

"Well," she grunted as she put a little weight on the leg and found it surprisingly strong, "At least I'm used to limping if it doesn't grow any more, but I have a feeling it will." Jack winced a little as she walked along, the area in her hip where the leg was growing from twinged with each step, but supported by Renathan, she limped along to the kitchen and sat down at the table, she was tired again from walking just that little distance, and she really wanted to take a shower before everything was said and done. Her fever seemed to have broken and she just needed to eat, oh and drink, what she wouldn't give... "I know you helped me out a lot with dinner, but would you mind helping with breakfast too? I don't think I can stand too long until this thing grows all the way..." she trailed off and stared down at her new leg that was still growing. It was almost full sized now, but still, it was so odd to talk about a leg regrowing. What happened to her other leg? Jack swallowed a little and shook her head, it was probably scavenged at this point...
Jack sighed and rubbed her face, thinking back to the day before, there was really only one reason that tree fell, even though it was already dead. "If I hadn't been messing around with my magic, this wouldn't have happened. I'm so sorry you had to see all that... but I'm glad you were there to help. I really need to be more careful. First I died making a node, now this... maybe it's just not worth it," she moaned, leaning forward on the table, her chin resting on her arms. "I'm not sure how I'll repay you helping me out like this though," Jack added, giving Renathan a little smile.

Renathan did not mind helping Jack of course, and supported as much of her weight as she needed to lean on him quite well, it was a bit difficult, with his height, but not too terrible. "That is Great!" Renathan replied, knowing that if she felt like it would work out, that it probably would. He couldn't imagine the leg doing something like growing only up to a certain point that was too small; mostly because he couldn't imagine a leg regrowing anyway. This was new and different for him. He felt like he'd been having nightmares, but he couldn't remember them. So it couldn't be that bad, right?
The mammalian nods, gently, making sure not to hurt anyone with his antlers during the time. "Of course I don't mind, it isn't every day you need my help, you know?" He mentioned, grinning. He was really trying to fit back into what a normal life could feel like, but honestly, it wasn't every day your favorite person in the whole wide world got their leg cut off right in front of you, and then re-grown by a giant dinosaur-looking magical thing. Yeah, this was going to take a while to get used to...
Renathan listened to her, as he got to the kitchen, and let her over to an area where she could either sit or lean on something, if she could. He smiled, and began rummaging through the fridge again, with little Auburn dancing around his legs, literally dancing, it was adorable. "Jack, Jack, don't blame yourself. Terrible things happen to good people all the time." He shook his head, and turned back toward her, standing in between the fridge and the open door. "I- I am just glad you are safe. I worry about you a lot, but if anyone is going to be okay when the day is done- it is you." His voice trembles a bit, and he turns back toward the fridge. "What would you like for breakfast?" He grins, his voice stronger now. He didn't want her to beat herself up, not ever.

Jack managed a bit of a chuckle, "I guess I've been through stranger things." It was true, it wasn't everyone who could say they had died and come back to life when trying to create magic, but now she had lost a leg and managed to get it back. She glanced down at the new leg again with a little smile, at least she would be able to walk again, but she couldn't tear the image of the bone shard she had held in her hand out of her mind at the moment, and she shook her head to try and get it to go away. The woman sighed a little and then looked around the kitchen from where she was sitting, and then pointed to some apples on the counter, "How about a couple of those for the moment, with maybe some cinnamon oatmeal and toast? I feel like I should take down some meat too, though I'm not sure what I have anymore. All there is, is hunger." Jack winced as her stomach rumbled again, and as she closed her eyes for a moment or two, the image of the tree falling on her flashed in front of her eyes again, and she popped them open once more so she wouldn't have to keep seeing it, hopefully.
"It's just going to be strange not needing a walking stick I suppose, as long as it grows back alright that is. I bet it's still in the Park next to my... um..." Jack trailed off, going a little pale as she swallowed before saying it, "Next to my leg..." Or at least against the picnic table she had been waiting for Renathan by, that would have been the thing to say. Was this normal for her, anyway? It seemed like she did a lot of things other people couldn't even comprehend, she always seemed to be throwing Renathan for a loop at least. "After food I want to take a shower if that's fine. You uh, might have to help me into the tub..." she trailed off, turning a little red at the thought.
