However, Morgan should have certainly thought something of it, because the tree moved ever so slightly. It had not been at all bothered about Morgan climbing up with their tiny slip of a body into it's strong branches to get the strange shiny round thing. However, it was bothered by Ryuusei's snatching of one of the shiny red apples off of it. Trees were strange beings that usually did not have the same signs of life that animals tended to have, like movements and such. But the mansion was a dangerous, strange place, and it twisted the threads of reality to produce the oddest of circumstances. A creak can be heard as Ryuusei stands with his pilfered prize beneath the tree, and Morgan stands with their hands in their pockets at the moment. Both of the individuals looked up towards where the noise had come from, up into the tree itself incredulously.

At first, nothing seemed out of place, leaving both of the beings feeling quite silly. However, it didn't take long for them to realize what was wrong. What at first looked like a cool breeze moving the branches slightly. However, the longer they looked (even though they didn't have too long to check) the more they realized that something was incredibly off about it; they blew against the wind sometimes, and it was growing in fervor and strength, whereas the wind was being quite steady all things together. Morgan frowned softly, first, and Ryuusei moved first, as if he heard or felt it before Morgan did. Apples fell from the tree in rapid succession, flying with unnatural accuracy right at the two individuals! The two scattered, Morgan to the left, and Ryuusei to the right, as quickly as they could go. Luckily, neither were hit by any apples, but it was still a frightening experience!

Soon after Ryuusei fled, the apples stopped being pelted, as if the tree had decided that it had gotten it's revenge. The apple that Ryuusei still had in his hand was clutched to his chest like a hard won prize, and Morgan couldn't help but laugh, looking over at him. "Well, apple trees certainly don't ever do that." Morgan said, noting it to Ryuusei more so than theirself, since he had never before seen an apple tree before now. "Actually, trees don't ever do that anyway." Morgan corrected, in triplicate as per usual. The two came back together, slowly, meeting at the same tree, both of them half expecting to actually get bombarded with apples again. Neither of them were, but Morgan greedily picked up all of the apples, placing them in a side pocket in their backpack. "I'm going to have to test these when we get home." Morgan noted.

Morgan may have been pleased with the outcome despite all of the hubub, but Ryuusei was already looking pretty frustrated with today. First, with the canid chasing them through the cornfield (which now surrounded them and made it impossible to get out without it being probable that they would be chased again), and now with the apple tree having bombarded them with apples much to both of their shock... Ryuusei was already starting to get nervous and wanting to go home. He conveyed as much to Morgan, but Morgan wanted to stay for at least a little while longer. "We need to stay just a little while longer, and pick up a few more things, and then we'll go to the park, how about that? We need to work on your swimming and another lesson, soon anyway." Morgan said, carefully. Ryuusei seemed to think for a moment, and then agreed.

Morgan glanced back apprehensively at the cornfield, feeling perhaps a little anxious about the whole canid thing. It did, whatever it was, manage to bite into Morgan's pants leg. After all, it was probably nothing really. Ryuusei was a huge creature, and quite scary all things considered. It didn't seem too afraid of him whenever it tried to attack him and he had clawed at it. In fact, the creature had dissolved into fog at the slightest touch. That was scary, what did all of that even mean? The human was a bit giddy. Not long from now, they would have to go back the way they came, if only because Ryuusei was acting fearful for a reason that made no real sense. However, Morgan was willing to do what he wanted, to keep the peace. The tat-lungs were practically like adult children. Morgan had to remember that as they worked with the dragon-like beings.

Ryuusei was growing more and more adamant as Morgan searched around for things to pick up and bring home to study. Morgan frowned, they wanted to find more things, and they knew that at this rate, they wouldn't be able to really finish up much of anything this go around. They would have to come back to work with some of their other creatures, or something. Shigeru could use another outing, Morgan noted, and perhaps Nico? It was a shame that Ryuusei wasn't going to stay to go check out apple pies, if they were around. Heck, maybe Morgan would pick one up for him within the next week from a shop, or make one for him theirself. That way he could still taste what they were like, but he didn't have to feel bad about not staying here long enough to find it out first hand. That smell was incredibly good!

Well, it was about time to head back over into the cornfield again. The pair had walked around, much to Ryuusei's chagrin, picking up anything that they could find. Morgan was putting them into the side pouch on their backpack, and Ryuusei was getting super impatient with it. Ryuusei was a very intelligent dragon, even if Seimei seemed a little more mind-over-matter than he was, and he didn't really care all that much about Morgan's little human experiments. He cared more for Morgan's safety, which he now felt like was under duress. Morgan wasn't too worried though, they could take care of theirself to a point. "Alrighty Ryuusei, we've just about got... it..." Morgan finally turned around and sighed. "Yeah, but we're going to look for stuff on the way out. To the cornfield!" They turned around from where they came, and the two walked to the cornfield, finally gaining the courage to re-enter it.

Morgan and Ryuusei both took an audible breath before anxiously stepping into the cornfield. Morgan was hoping for a calm walk to the gate, and thus far, that was what they got. The pair walked shoulder to shoulder through the cornfield, watching both the front and back behind them, nervously. They needed to watch their backs, and at first were very stiff-muscled as they walked. Soon though, their tense bodies relaxed as they got closer to their goal, the gate. Morgan was trying to keep an eye out for anything interesting, and they picked up everything that looked interesting to take home and study. They did this almost every time they left, and sometimes they brought home a bunch of junk, and sometimes they didn't find a lot of stuff. It was a big mess, altogether. After a little while, the pair broke out into the grain field, and then made it out the gate without any issues.

Morgan was back again a few days later, this time with the travel tank again, newly outfitted with even more fancy mechanics. Morgan was slowly learning how to work with clockworks, and it was showing in their additions to many of their favorite inventions. Inside of the travel tank, Shigeru swam, greedily taking in all of the things around him. Morgan was glad that he had finally showed some growth, becoming a bigger fish, but still worried that he may not grow to maturity for sometime yet. However, they were going to make this short walking excursion here, partially because Morgan wanted to find more loot, and partially because Shigeru needed some more time with Morgan to truly take his lessons well in the future. "Shigeru, here is the gate." Morgan said, while pulling the travel tank. "Hopefully the creature that Ryuusei and I saw last time won't be here again..."

Shigeru was drinking it all in. He always enjoyed seeing beautiful things, perhaps it was the start of an artistic individual? He was always so much more quiet than the snarky Seimei, and much calmer than the boisterous Ryuusei. He was very easily one of the sweetest beings that Morgan personally knew, and that made Morgan and all of the other tat-lungs super protective of him. "We're only going to walk to the nearest apple trees, so that you can look at them and of course the berry bushes, and then we're going to leave, okay?" Morgan said, smiling. "I hope you don't mind the limited time today, I'd like to take you to the docks afterward." At that, Shigeru was super excited, since he loved going to the docks. "We've got an important lesson to teach you, next." Morgan said, and then pushed open the gate to bring him inside the mansion inner grounds.

Morgan really wanted to teach Shigeru the 'swim' command now, since he may not ever grow. Morgan wanted to give as much lavish attention to as many of their tat-lungs as possible, and this required very good learning. Morgan usually waited until the tat-lungs matured to teach that and a few other things, but perhaps Shigeru could learn it earlier? That would certainly be a good thing over all, even if he never did mature. No one had ever seen a mature Dynasty tat lung, after all! Shigeru gave his simply 'okay' sort of answer, and Morgan continued onto the grounds. Much to Morgan's shock, the area looks quite different now. Instead of having to travel through the grains and fields to get to the apple trees, they were just right there, a huge thick orchard of apple trees, obscuring the entire area like a forest. Apple trees didn't grow well on top of one another like that!

Regardless of logic, here it was, no matter what Morgan thought about it. However, Morgan was sure that they would be fine, the mansion was just the way that it was. "Well why don't you look at this? It is much different, now!" Morgan said, in triplicate, to Shigeru as they went to enter the apple grove. "Well, we aught to check it out anyway, I'm really looking for more stuff to study. Oh, and those little eye marbles! I need as many of those as possible for the well." Morgan said, grinning as they went. Morgan had been a lot happier recently, it would seem, though they were also a little stressed with their studies. Clockworks really were giving them a bit of trouble, and they were about to ramp up studies in herbology as well... It was going to be a mess, and already Morgan was learning more slowly than they wanted to...

The apple orchard was so thick that Morgan was happy to see a little path for them to walk on. The travel tank was big, and would be impossible to take between the trees out here. "If you see any of those little marbles, or anything shiny at all, let me know, okay Shigeru?" Morgan asked him. Shigeru seemed quite happy about it indeed, and Morgan was pleased that he wasn't upset with the request. Seimei would have been mightily annoyed, and Ryuusei probably would have done it, but would have also been just as annoyed in his own way. Shigeru was much more enthusiastic about mundane matters than Morgan would have guessed, indeed. They walked down the path slowly, Morgan and Shigeru both looking all around them for anything interesting. They were just going on a quick quiet walk, after all. Morgan hoped that they would at least find one thing to bring home.

Truthfully the pair was only going to be here for the shortest of times, the absolute shortest. It was quite important to Morgan that they get out of here in enough time to go out and work with him swimming, and Morgan didn't want to do that when it was dark for safety reasons. The human couldn't help but glance back and smile at the creature in the travel tank. They could hardly wait until he was able to fly like the others, even if Morgan had to wait into their old age, they would. For now, they were going to try to keep him caught up with the other tat-lungs in knowledge, at least to the best of their ability. There were just going to be a few things that he would never learn at this stage, like Labs Sign Language, or flying. It was a real shame, but Morgan was glad to have the opportunity to work with him regardless.
