There was really only so much more that could be done about this situation, and that was a bit sad. Morgan wanted to stay longer today, so they were just going to have to wait for the equillion foal to begin cementing that bond enough to understand what he was supposed to act like a bit better. Of course, Morgan could have just trained him first and it probably would have been a good idea, but Morgan wanted to have a rapport with their critters before starting training. It was better to do that all around, and it made the first few training measures a little less stressful to do. The good thing was that Morgan was not planning on stepping foot in the pit, so it would be easier to keep from battle training Glim all at once. Sure, Waar wasn't ever going to the pit either, but Morgan wanted him to be able to protect himself.

Glim was destined, at least in Morgan's mind, to be a show mount, and nothing more. His father had apparently been entered into the pit previously (who even does that? put a prized creature into the pit to see it slain? especially not one of the 'powerful' pit battling species!) but Glim was not about to be headed that way himself. No, Morgan wanted him for his parentage and his ability to be a very nice mount. Pures were gorgeous creatures and notoriously difficult mounts in their eldest stages due to their propensity to become mist. As of right now, it did seem like Glim was more physical than not of course, but that usually came with age. Morgan was, however, frustrated at his current solidness, because he was easily quite a bit stronger than Morgan was even now, and his refusal to move was causing more trouble than Morgan would have liked.

However, Morgan was sure that given enough time, young Glim would take to them much better, and would perhaps even go on adventures a little more willingly. "Come on, Glim..." Morgan says, easily feeling frustrated with him. However, they knew not to take this frustration out on him and would not have done so anyway, since they preferred to take care of their creatures without using any physical negative feedback. Morgan held the lead more firmly, and then gently attempted to suggest that the creature turn this way, towards the left, by putting just a tad bit of pressure on his right side. Most creatures would turn away from the side that was being pressed upon, in an attempt to assuage the pressure, no matter how slight. However, young Glim was a very stubborn creature, not having been used to handling since his birth, and refused to turn due to this light pressure.

Morgan could feel the wind pick up again, as it had earlier, and of course the noise sounded off in the bushes again, as if trying to hide the noise in the wind's howling. Morgan shuddered a bit. They were at a standstill, this human and their colt, and the sun was slowly descending on the horizon. It was fairly cool outside already with the wind, and now it was just getting colder. Morgan frowned, used on hand to push their glasses further up their nose using the bridge so as not to smudge the lenses. They breathed out, shuddered a bit from the cold, and then opened their eyes. "You're coming with me, Glim." Their voice was more leveled now, and their grab on the lead more firm now. They gently suggested, but more firmly applied pressure this time, and the young equillion swayed a bit on young wobbly legs.

Glim was perhaps one of the most stubborn baby critters that Morgan had ever dealt with before, but Morgan was prepared to work with him in compromises in the future. For now, however, Morgan was not going to keep giving in to his little demands for more apples. Morgan had to feed him a balanced growing diet, after all, since he was a growing youngling. For a moment, the pair stood there, the colt with his legs locked, and Morgan with their body stiff. After a moment, this broke, with young Glim breaking all hell loose, and bucked about in that funky way that young equillion tended to do, sort of hopping between front and back legs, kicking as he went, trying to do little half bucks with his hind legs. Morgan kept the lead firm, and made sure to move out of the way slowly, so that his little fit wouldn't affect Morgan's control in any way.

Morgan waited for Glim to 'tire himself out' enough to stop his little tirade, and it did not take too long at all for this to happen. Glim was breathing hard enough that the air outside of his flaring nostrils looked like puffed bits of smoke. Morgan watched as his breath was visible as it hit the air; it really was getting cold quite quickly. "Glim, you done right now?" Morgan said, watching him as he stood stiff-legged and nostrils flaring as he breathed. Morgan wasn't even tired, of course. It didn't bother the human, they weren't the one that had really exhausted themself for no reason. "Alrighty Glim, looks like you are done. Are you going to move now?" Morgan said, carefully mitered voice there more to get Glim used to it than actually expecting him to understand it. Time seemed to pass as the two stood there, huffing hot breath into the cold air.

Morgan once again moved the lead quietly, and this time they watched as Glim breathed, growing calmer and calmer, and finally, finally his legs loosened. He moved in his coltish way, towards the direction that Morgan was attempting to indicate, and it worked decently enough. He was still hesitant and slow, not quite wishing to go, but finally noticing that he wasn't going to get what he wanted. Morgan's muscles loosened just a tiny amount, knowing that it was time to start going to check out that thing in the bushes that was making all of those noises, even though it was starting to get darker... Morgan shuddered from the cold, and immediately Glim seemed to catch his chance. The dark colt shook his head, trying to pull his lead away from Morgan, and of course that only succeeded in forcing Morgan to completely steel their muscles to keep from falling over.

Morgan was far from frustrated. In fact, Morgan was amused by the colt, if anything else. He was certainly spirited, if nothing else! Morgan chuckled as soon as they caught their footing, and then waved him off. "Boyo, I'm surprised at you." Morgan said, after they got done chuckling. Small tears sat in the corners of their eyes and were really cold, so Morgan wiped them away from their eyes, smearing them across their cheeks from under their glasses. Placing their glasses back on their nose, Morgan guided the equillion colt away from the area, and towards the bushes so that Morgan could look in them. They stood there, waiting while staring at the bush, trying to figure out how exactly to find whatever was in the bushes without actually having Glim trying to break away as soon as Morgan stopped paying attention to him for two seconds or so.

Morgan sighed, a puff of air condensates in the air away from their mouth as they did so. Trying to do anything today had been a bit difficult so far, but Morgan was convinced that it shouldn't continue like this forever. Glim just wasn't used to any of this at all, and Morgan understood that. Morgan would perhaps take him out in the morning after Nico's walk and train him, but for now they needed to just get through this little mini-adventure. Morgan put their hand up, and then kept the other one on the lead just as firm as it had been before. "Here we go Glim, you gotta stay y'know." At that, Morgan leaned down and went to look into the bushes where the sounds had come from before. The first thing that Morgan noticed was there was nothing there, which was a major sad as far as Morgan was concerned.

The second thing that Morgan had noticed, of course, was that Glim was a clever little dude. He waited until Morgan was mostly leaned down, and then immediately jerked, and this time only Morgan's particularly nice acrobatics ability kept them from falling down over their face as Glim tried to run around to the other side of Morgan to try to drag them. Morgan steeled and leaned back instead, keeping him from being able to drag them face-down, and instead pulled forward on their heels, leaned back. This kept Morgan balanced, at the very least, enough to only be dragged a few feet before Glim tired himself out again. This time he laid down, refusing to move from his seated position. Morgan's arms were definitely a little sore, since they had been jerked around just a moment ago, and Morgan was beyond frustrated. "Ugh, critter, you nearly got me that time." Morgan said.

Morgan was not at all certain how much longer they were going to stay here with Glim. It was obvious that he needed much more work to be able to go on adventures like these, and Morgan wasn't sure if they were ready to start working with them like this. Glim needed to get used to Morgan's hands, and honestly Morgan just needed to get used to working with equillion. They were, after all, fundamentally different than any other beast that Morgan had ever trained. For one, they were exclusively (ahem, maybe save for tainteds and those with small snacking on meats) plant eaters, and very much they were a prey animal. That meant that they were spooky, and nervous, and really would do well with multiple of them at the very least. Perhaps, Morgan thought, getting the female here for him would be a tantamount requirement to make him less spooky.

Perhaps his attitude issues could be curbed at that point. Of course, it was also bad that he was separated from his mother, but apparently he hadn't been separated all that long ago, and he was certainly weaned. Still, he seemed spooky if not aggressive and stubborn, and Morgan did have to give him that his apparent fighter blood was quite obvious to Morgan at the very least. Morgan wasn't sure if he would even make a good riding stallion, but they were gonna try anyway. Morgan had secured him and had bought a mare from Renathan, or rather, sent Renathan to bid on her with their credits. She had been named Emery, but had no training and was an old. Morgan wound up renaming her Impi, and had recently went out to get a potion of anti-growthing for her. Morgan hoped that Impi would serve to calm Glim down a tad.

Perhaps the entire process of training them both would be easier if Morgan had them both together, but for now they would have to wait on Impi to be secured and then the anti-growth administered. The Jackalope was proving quite useful in finding animals for Morgan's estate, that was for certain! For now, though, Glim was proving more trouble than Morgan had perhaps anticipated. They weren't going to get much of any adventuring done with him standing there leg-locked acting ridiculous. Morgan was certainly not at all impressed. However, the tiny creature that was now laying down was more of a problem now than he was when he was standing with his legs locked. Undoubtedly, Morgan was going to have to deal with him acting like this, and would probably deal with it by utilizing the small pink apples, which was exactly what he wanted. Allowing an equillion to get what he wanted was a bad thing, Morgan noticed a little too late.

Morgan waited for a moment, trying to figure out if there was anything else that they could do to get him to get up without causing any issues. Of course giving him what he wanted would work, but the worst thing would be that the creature would expect that forever and be a continuous brat. That would be terrible for future training, and that was NOT something Morgan wanted. Already, the sun was dipping into the horizon, the bottom part touching the horizon now. Morgan shivered in the cold, and stared down at the equillion colt while he rolled on his back around in the wet grass. Yeah, he was going to be cold as heck walking home, Morgan was going to be lucky if he wasn't sick or anything from this. However, Morgan was pleased that he was at least doing something that looked like he might be more relaxed. That was a good sign.
