This trip ought to be slightly less fussy than the first, but Lethalia had to admit that the outcome was worth bringing three pachee last time. At least two carriers were easier to haul in, still feeling out of place in the breeding center. Some instinct that could make her heart race if she wasn't mindful bleated about being cornered in this box, just like it had when she slept her first few nights in a real house. This place, though - the glow of the while walls makes it even more unnerving. The feeling would pass, just the same as she learned how to sleep under a roof - and it was best it did absolve any sort of anxiety she was feeling sooner rather than later. It's hard to tell whether or not plant creatures would be empathetic or respond to emotions in the least, but better to not upset the critters accidentally if they were sensitive. It would rather defeat the purpose of coming here if it made them unable to preform! Still though. Talking through the process of filling out the paperwork at the desk, remembering the names of critters that aren't hers... it just throws the woman a bit off-kilter. breeding|1

Dragon and Autumn - two names she's going to have to learn how to write now that she's decidedly attained an interest in it. The pachee were aptly named, anyway. Autumnal colors weren't what the satyr typically pursued, but the striped female is lovely nonetheless. The male is more in line with 'her' colors, but in this case, her hope was that his would have less influence over the offspring's color. If he passed on those big leathery wings she could see through the air holes in the carrier, that would be the best case! She could hope one of the berries she got would help in that regard, since it seemed to the last time. Though the receptionist probably wouldn't appreciate the satyr leaning over the paper she was filling out to see what the names looked like when written, either. Distinctly uncomfortable with all this process, Lethalia hurried through the process best she could. Having to admit to someone she would need help with the forms still mortifies her, and even though maybe she can change that eventually, it makes her all the more restless out in this bleached lobby. Salvation came in the form of getting her room number to take these two pachee off to. breeding|2

Maybe they'd blend well, and maybe not - she's been known to make odd choices. Since she wasn't keeping them, hopefully there'd be at least one that resembled what she was looking for. If there was one that happened to be more the male's green-grey than Autumn's earthy fall tones... It wouldn't fit in with her project, but she's going to try and stay strong - she's not interested in plant creatures, even if these cat-faced plants are pretty charming so far. Lethalia's not certain if she's 'doomed' to have a green outlier living in her yard. Whisking away to her allotted space as soon as she was given the okay, Lethalia sets both carriers down gingerly, feeling like it would be fine to let them both out at the same time. Only bringing two should be much calmer, and they should be able to get 'comfortable' together more easily than in such a crowded room. With the carrier doors open, they could decide whoever was bold enough to emerge first. She wasn't on any kind of time limit and could sit here for a while and wait for them, though she was curious how long this would take if she ended up with particularly shy pachee. breeding|3

Dragon pokes his nose out of the crate first, already more talkative than the last one as he turns to and gives an inquisitive 'chee' at her. "Well hi," the satyr chimes back, marveling at the little creature stretching himself out like a cat. Even if she had picked him out for his lovely dragon wings, but they're still neat to see when he stretches those out too. Making a few more feline tones that sounded like cute little fragments of the 'chee' they must have gotten their namesake from, Dragon finished stretching and shook himself out from the carrier ride. He seems rather curious about her, walking around the stool she'd perched herself on since the woman was the only other thing out in the room for now. Before considering pachee that had wings, Lethalia had never really conceptualized that stray plume of plant material to be anything but just a sprig of bloom. Seeing his wings somehow made them look like little feathered wings, which is one of the cutest things. It sure looks like this little male can actually fly, unlike the petal-wings that did nothing but look cute on their back. Huh. Maybe females found the wings impressive? It certainly seemed to make Dragon confident in himself. breeding|4

Autumn is soon sticking her head out of her crate, instantly curious enough about the little commotion going on just outside of it. Dragon's padding around making snuffling noises around the satyr's hooves apparently made her curious enough to come investigate. Making the same trill before moving, she trotted boldly up to Dragon and stuck her nose immediately in his space for a sniff. She showed much less hesitation now that she'd finally gotten out here! It would be interesting if the females really did like a winged male, after all. She could also just be less shy now that she didn't have to be the one going out alone. The woman really hopes at least one of the babies pick up a lot of the female's coloring, because she's quite lovely - and aptly named. Dainty six point antlers look pretty cute on her, too. How much either one of the pachee would pass down their genetics when using a berry for male genes to work more strongly would be interesting to see. The woman was also going to have to see what the results would be without the use of it, especially with a female as lovely as this one. Perhaps she'd have to borrow Autumn again! breeding|5

Berries that gave the right nutrition to allow for another baby and the capability to make them more likely to have a rare female, those made sense. Males being 'shy' about passing down their coat colors could prove interesting, especially if there were ways to manipulate it. Especially if you got some of the right females in bold colors, they would probably make some interesting offspring without the need of the male's coat to make it interesting or patterned. Maybe that was how this worked, and why females would be so much rarer! It also meant that female berries were probably one of the best investments towards this, almost more than getting an extra baby. Get a collection of awesome looking females, never need the male genetics berry again! Until another pretty male came along, maybe. This was all so new, she didn't have any idea how to predict the outcome of babies from these strange verdant critters; though the last had the result she'd been seeking, it wasn't a great metric to predict future outcomes with. It did of course answer her question about what the offspring would inherit, seeing as both offspring had clear influences of both males. She's beginning to 'get it' just enough to consider the possibilities. breeding|6

It was neat to know, but she didn't know how often she'd be bringing such an amount of them in even if the effort had been rewarded with stunning offspring. Magneta Paintbrush, named after a flower his wing-petals resembled, was almost exactly what she was hoping for. Peachy-blue female Arlet, though unexpected, fit in thematically more perfectly than she could have hoped. In the end, it really offers a lot more variation in the offspring, or so it seemed this time. It would have to be a repeated experiment! It was especially delightful that you could see your results so quickly compared to breeding traditional animals, in something like a week from blooming to having an adult pachee. Look at her, saying she wasn't going to get into the critters, and yet making more plans on how to combine their genetics and planning on purchasing more berries. No, she definitely won't be keeping any for her own benefit. The more she thinks it, the more it might become true, right? What was going to happen next, she was going to buy more fertilizer and such and work on her own garden a little? She didn't want to admit how much she was wanting to cave in and do just that. breeding|7

It was also a lovely chance of pace that within these walls, and with these easygoing of critters, she had little to worry about. Lethalia was daydreamy and space at the best of times, made worse when she had too much to ponder. It would be better to break herself of the habit, but at least this was as good of a place to sit and think as any. The pachee didn't really need an escort past getting them into a room! The appeal of being able to bring in a book and read for something like this was beginning to make sense to her, even though she definitely won't be able to do that for a long time. Focusing on where the plant things were, it took looking down to realize they were playfully batting at one another and using the stool legs to dodge in and out of with their strikes. Small mercy that they don't use claws as often as cats. Lethalia finds herself giggling and pulling her hooves up out of the playing plants' way, resting her chin on her drawn-up knees to be able to watch their skittering underfoot. Then again, if she sat here reading, she couldn't watch them! breeding|8

Just sitting here watching pachee get acquainted and play probably was less thrilling the more you did it, but for now they were interestingly new enough to observe between daydreaming about grander plans. They seemed to be doing just fine together, and it was nice to not have to interject with these creatures. Autumn took up the easily defensible position inside of the chair legs, laying down as though just casually lounging. Her petal-studded tail belied her calm, thumping restlessly on the floor. Dragon prowled nearby, tail lashing in the air as he would try and stick his face in between the chair legs - only to get batted away each time. His honey colored eyes narrowed a little in concentration, wings stiff with the amount of effort he was putting into playfully attacking. Sitting upright when she realized, Lethalia stretched and carefully stepped over the pachee best she could to go access her bag. It would be terrible to get all the way out here only to forget the berries she'd been spacing out about all day! Thinking about it wasn't going to help her any if she forgot about it this time around. Perhaps she needed to come back to earth with her thoughts, just a little. breeding|9

Although she hadn't wanted to disrupt their play, the presence of the berries attracts them all the same. As soon as the woman had gingerly taken them out of the plastic container she'd put them in, the pachee had abandoned their game to come sniffling up to her, Autumn flailing behind for a moment longer as she entangled herself from the stool legs. Hopefully the disruption won't hurt anything! Placinf her hooves carefully so she didn't step on anybody, Lethalia lured them out into the middle of the room to dump the berries into a ceramic dish for them. It didn't seem like much, but the critters were upon the offering instantly. It was still strange to see them using their paws and not having or needing a mouth; those parts were going to take some getting used to. The abundance of food in the berries might have inspired the pachee to let loose, but when they finish their snack, that odd little third eyelid of theirs extends over Autumn's eye as she wanders over to rub up on Dragon. Lethalia takes it as her queue to protect her own eyes as the male's strong tail begins to knock his pollen loose on the floor, looking quite pleased with the proximity of the lady tucked under a wing. breeding|10
