As far as unexpected situations went, Jewel figured that the one he'd found himself in was rather astounding.
He never thought he'd be moving into a house within weeks of arriving at the Labs, and certainly not with an almost-stranger he'd met at a coffee shop. Having to sleep at the kennels hadn't been great, but it was a roof over his head, and kept costs down. Aura didn't even plan to charge him any rent for an actual living space. What kind god was smiling upon him from the heavens? What good karma had he accrued to have a stroke of luck a mile wide?
Well, he wasn't going to take it for granted. Before his new friend could change their mind, he had turned up on their doorstep with a backpack and a box, which between them contained all his worldly possessions. Eilonwi had deigned it appropriate to make the trip with him. She was sat alongside him, her tail swaying back and forth in a steady curve - she was watching him, even if his attention was focused on the door. When he raised his hand to knock, she made a quiet sound of acquiescence. This would work. He would have to allow her to live with him, and she could be separated from the loud, crowded atmosphere she'd had to deal with so far. Blissful.
What was even more exciting for the Felusine was the potential of company that wasn't stupid, naive, or an infuriating mixture of both.
"Hey, Ei," Jewel looked down at his companion, and his lip quirked with a smile. "D'you think they'll put us up in a closet or something? Think this is a trick and they're a creep?"
Her unimpressed expression told him everything he needed to know about her sustained distaste for his antics.
