Ashe

Ashe's memory before the Labs, before the skeletons and the corruption, is completely blurred. He might remember a snippet here or there, but nothing remotely concrete. He has Silver, who he's had by his side longer than he can remember, and Silver probably remembers, but Ashe doesn't - by choice or by trauma, neither of them know.

What he doesn't remember is his first decade and a half living as a girl, a year or so spent in the labs this way. Becoming friends, and more, with Silver, but being extremely unhappy with how she was. By magical means, of which Silver had access to via friendship with Yamase and Kagatoh, they both turned into boys. Ashe had been depressed at the change, his entire body and mind trying to cope with the extreme change and magic used. After attempts to take his life, his memory blocked itself, and he saw the wonderful world through new eyes. This unraveled some friendships, but forged countless new ones.

He lives with Silv, Bumpeh, and Aiko in a house they called Xanadu, on Missa Ave. He went through a bit of depression, leading to Silv buying a farm just for the pair of them, out on Avant Vall where no one really lived. There, he made a home for his skeletal creatures, and attempted suicide with one of them. Silver helped him through it, and once he realized how stupid it is to throw away life, he resolved to never be sad again, let alone depressed.

This new Ashe, however, was a little too friendly with half the people he met. He and Bumpeh became close, proceeding past friendship even under the same roof as his Silver. There were others, too. He went on dates with Sels, which included a mining adventure during which there was a tunnel collapsing and he had to save her. Through all this, he has one enemy; Gaara, who later changed her name to Raziel. They fought before, but it came to a standstill. The second time, Gaara ripped into Ashe mercilessly, and he lost. Near death, he made it back to Syrinx, the farm, and Silver, with the aide of her Shijin, healed him up nice.

He vowed to never be powerless again.

Now on a power-hungry search, he makes a trip to the legendary shop known as the Veil, close to the boundaries of the Beyond. There he meets Seguchi, and purchases an Imp named Inyala, to be his loyal servant. He also begins to train for the tournaments, getting Alaska in tip top shape. His first tournament entry ends with him in third place, losing to the legendary Rayak.

He meets Reign, a man with a mission passing through the city. They seem to bond instantly, and the first night, Ashe brings him back to the farm. Silver's out for the night, and Reign stays over, not having a place of his own, and they share a bed. Even after he leaves, they seem destined, and meet again in the mines. A flood chases them out, and they meet up again in the public park. However, unbeknownst to Ashe, Reign has eyes only for Ashe's enemy, Gaara, and he was just using Ashe for his power. He announces he has to leave, however, and they part. Reign's final words to him are words of love.

Then his love life spirals down. Bumpeh gets jealous and mad over Ashe's amount of lovers, and leaves after trying to poison him. Sels is still uncomfortable around him. Reign's gone. Silver's distant. Seguchi, an attempt, hates him of course. He meets a man named Scorpius, but finds out it was his friend, Vixen's, boyfriend already, and...after that one day, he disappears forever. So Ashe decided to focus on Silver, and only Silver. He starts being loyal, still flirting but remaining loyal as well as he can.

Then Reign comes back into his life, during his second tournament. Alaska places in second, losing only to a Wiurn. But Reign is back, and Ashe is feeling confused... He's trying to be loyal, but he can't help himself around Reign... He asks too many questions about Gaara, for Ashe's liking, before leaving again once he finds out Gaara's not around. At this time, Pre's Gym also goes through a renovation, and she decides extra workers aren't needed, as there's not enough customers. It opens into a free for all training facility, and Ashe needs another job. He ends up getting a call from an old friend, Vixen, and gets a job as an entertainer at her club, the Midnight Panther, previously owned by Tala. Meanwhile, Pre gets a call and has to leave. It's important enough that he has to take care of Prelitya for her. They start bonding in order to take on the Petite Tournament. Pre has also left her former employee a Runic Gargoyle, Brazin.

It's then he gets the letter to come and attempt to be the new caretaker of the Veil. So he goes, not telling Silver where he's going, and only dreaming of the power. Once there, he sees people he knows, but soon enough he's seperated into a group with Sels and his friend, Obsidion. Before he knew it, he had angered Seguchi, and earned himself a private tea party with him and Kagatoh. Before Kagatoh can get there, however, the fight erupts, and Seguchi turns into a dragon. Meiku, Silver's other part of the soul, arrives, but even she can't stop Seguchi from 'giving Ashe what he wants'- Power.

Later, he meets up with a stranger who calls himself "Slayer" in the mines. Slayer speaks of older times, things Ashe knows nothing about. Though their words aren't warm and friendly, Ashe finds himself liking this man, and even though Inyala dislikes him immensely and tries to warn Ashe away, Ashe ignores her in favor of him. Little does he know, he's opened a whole new can of worms. He joins him in sitting on the floor of the mines for more idle chit chat, and then wakes up on the dirt floor, alone, with no idea how much time has passed. Thinking he's just fallen asleep, and Slayer had elsewhere to be, he finds Inyala and heads home. What he doesn't know, is what Slayer took from him. Was it blood? Or more?

He goes to the new Veil, after it was revamped. He hadn't expected to see Seguchi there, because he'd heard there was a new person running the place. A new person, he had hoped, who would like him a little more. But alas, there was Seguchi, and Ashe still wanted to make a purchase. This time, he wanted a spirit, a spirit enclosed in a special little amulet. Seguchi wasn't happy, however, that he was in a 'thrall.' Whatever that was, right? Ashe didn't seem to care, but then he let slip his encounter with Slayer, and Seguchi exploded. Turns out it was D'mote, a slayer of vampiru, come to warn Ashe of impending doom. And Seguchi was pissed Ashe hadn't told her sooner.

Then the Veil was attacked, soon after Ashe left with his amulet. Seguchi had seemed eager enough to get rid of him, and had given him what he wanted before shooing him out. But with the Veil destroyed, Ashe went looking for survivors- it couldn't be that his Goddess had perished? And instead, he found a little girl... his sister...? And he forgot his goal of finding his Goddess, forgot her completely in fact, his mind was so wrapped around taking care of Ren. How he'd missed his sister. He played his part, spoiling her, giving her everything she wanted while she and her comatose friend recovered at Xanadu. Syrinx was way too scary for her, after all, with the Skeletal Herd making their home there.

Thank god Ren wasn't there when that boy fell from the sky and splattered himself on Ashe's front lawn. Or when said boy started to piece himself together and...talk!

Since then things have been rather quiet. Tournament #3 (for Ashe) came and went, Ashe and Prelitya earning the championship. Training for the next tournament began immediately. Ashe and Obsidion worked together to take Kro and Alaska to the championship in the Team Tourny. While the battles are being assigned, Ashe runs into an old friend, a face he missed dearly... What was Bumpeh doing back?

He proceeds to win the Tag Team Tournament with his partner and best friend, Obs, and immediately cashes in on his prize points. He has big plans for Alaska... A potion that will give her a special ability, a charm said to prolong her lifespan... Things were going good. He even met Alex at the pub, and flirted with him a bit. But Alex was pretty violent, and didn't care for Ashe's advances. Luckily, a waitress stepped in before it could get too bad.

The Midnight Panther's opening night led to great confusion and a fight, however. Ashe's growing feelings for his boss and friend, Vixen, led his actions while they danced on the floor. Before he knew it, he had kissed her... And she'd been stunned enough to nearly run the other way. To Obsidion. What did that mean? Before he could even find out, Alex showed up and started hitting on Vixen. He even grabbed her wrist and threatened her! While Obs got her out of there and to safety, Ashe launched an attack and there was a big fight the Bouncer couldn't even break up. Afterward, Vix helped patch Ashe up, and he began to realize just how much he liked her... Had to get beaten to a pulp to realize it, didn't he?

But she kept rejecting him. He got her to meet him for a fake date that he turned real (of course, with his Ashe charm) and he got to see that she was interested... They set up an actual date, but before that could happen, the Panther's Best Dressed event happened- and Obs had suddenly left, upsetting Vix to the point of when he actually returned, she ignored him. But Obs approached and asked Ashe to give them a minute, which he did, and Ashe never learned what was said. Also, (Ashe later learned), Tybalt was back in town, the man who killed Vix's fiance Scorpious, and he nearly raped Vix. She was all scratched and swollen for their date... She healed by the time the Panther opened up for Leather Night, though. But news hit Ashe that Obs had left for far away lands. While Ashe wishes him the best, he misses his friend to the point where he won't speak of him.

Now Obs is back, but doesn't seem to recognize Ashe. Vix went off on some personal mission, something she had to do on her own. Ashe had promised to wait for her while she and that brute, Zyler, went off... And now, months later, she still hasn't returned. He's lost his best friend, his lover, everyone from his past is gone. Silver has reappeared to fill in the gaps. But that's not enough to keep him from sliding into a deep depression. He holed himself up in the barn with the skeletons, then took over Syrinx while Silver was elsewhere. He completely wrecked his room, leaving garbage all over, alcohol bottles in varying degrees of fullness, and stooping so low as that he didn't take care of himself. One day, he forced himself out of the depression and ended up meeting a strange man with splotchy skin. Kai was his name, and they bonded in the Mansion, before Ashe asked him to the Panther, thinking he could get some that night. That was when he saw Nox for the first time in months and realized just how much he'd missed him. They spent the night, and the following days, together and Ashe realized he was falling fast for the other man.

He only has Nox now, and tends to spend a little too much time with him, to keep the solitude from driving him crazy. Ashe does not do well in tiny groups, but flourishes in large ones... And then the unthinkable happens - and Nox disappears without a word. All their talks, all their plans including creating a band one day - gone. Alone again, Ashe tries to stay afloat on his own. He redoubles his efforts into the Aquarium for the Keep, he keeps up good relations with Silver, he goes out to make new friends, like Avery, and he throws himself into constants such as Mining and exploring the mansion, seeking treasure, something to make his life meaningful.

Still stuggling to get over the girl that made him change his entire way of life, and without Nox around to heal the wounds, Ashe starts succumbing to the darkness once again... Just as his love bunny starts dying. With its final breath, Ashe realizes - it's the symbol of the love between him and Vixen. And if it's gone, then maybe he can finally be free.... Until a new tragedy strikes, and Ashe's thrown into a descending spiral of madness. His best friend, Obsidion, comes to him in spirit form one night, explaining that he had died on his trip away from the Labs. He has with him a ring, which he'd anchored himself to for Ashe's benefit, a shield, and a sword. But Ashe refuses to face the truth, and instead carries the ring around everywhere, talking to his friend whenever he feels lonely. Other people start to notice and he almost gets kicked out of the workshop for being unstable.

With that tucked under the bed for now, Ashe can focus on his friendship with Avery, training his new Sarane, and he even joined a guild focused on training, run by the girl his friend had told him he should meet. Jack. He has a purpose, he has his confidence back, and he's looking toward the future. Fafnir, a Sarane he found in the Mines, quickly dominates in the tournament and sires his own clutch, having worked things out with Tala and her Golden Hen. His new Drake, Ghidorah (whom he calls Sparky, after he gets an electric injection), is larger and more powerful than even Fafnir. He begins to give Jack flying lessons on Fafnir, while entering Fafnir's son in the next Tournament. Ghidorah wipes the floor with the competition and goes on to sire the next clutch.

Then Vixen returned. She had been through some stuff, most of which Ashe didn't understand or she couldn't tell him, but Zyler had brought her back to him. Not only that, but the distance had made the heart fonder, and she no longer held out on him to drive him mad. They met, embraced, made love for the first time, and she told him secrets. Since her return, he hasn't faltered in his loyalty, or his love for her. Nox returned to the city briefly, missing Ashe, and Ashe had to tell him he was staying with Vix and couldn't join him. They bid farewell, as close friends. Ashe gifted her Ghidorah's daughter, and she gifted him an Equillion he named Eternal. The only bump in the road lately is a lost puppy named Rhett, whom Vix seems to have adopted and brought over to the Keep. While Ashe trusts her, he knows Rhett will one day try to make a move...

Time passed and Ashe is still head over heels for this woman. He is in a great place, mentally and physically (It helps to have a woman around to make sure he eats and sleeps!) and has even created two nodes; a Hollow and most recently a Dark. His bond with Inyala is growing and the pair practice magic together. Ashe's official city-funded job is Ranger, which is basically what he enjoyed doing in his free time anyway. Unable to meet the requirements for Archmage's Understudy, and get his foot in the door to learn even more powerful magics (Necromancy in particular), he starts taking lessons from Jack on herbs and how to make Salves. Who knew, to be an archmage, you needed plants? He's also mining for more crystals, and waiting for the Gemstone Workshop to open again (some sort of accident, he heard) so he can craft the prettiest ring ever, and convince Vix to spend the rest of her life with him.

With the creation of his Dark Node, Ashe learned and mastered a spell that would summon skeletons from the ground where they were buried. With this, he got the idea... to resurrect his former best friend. He had some minor magics in healing, and he knew someone who had access to even more healing magic. So he set his goal. First, he convinced Jinx to help him with her spirit board, and together they set up a seance, contacting the spirit of his best friend, figuring out where it was he died. They closed the connection and Ashe set off to find the bones. He resurrected them and brought them home, called Jack over, and for the next week the pair would expend all their magic into creating flesh, organs, blood- until all that was left was the spirit. What had lived in Ashe's ring, and what had stayed close by, entered the body and it came to life! It took a few weeks for the body to learn to walk and operate again, and in that time, there was a deterioration of the mind... Obs no longer knew Ashe.

A bit later, word came to him that his former lover, Nox, has died on his travels. After Vix, Ashe was closest to Nox, and it was absolutely crushing to find out someone he loved so much was gone, without much of a goodbye. Not a final goodbye. But what if he could return Nox to his body, too...
