Now they were to the repetition part, now that they were past the part where the houluh 'got' the command for the first time. The repetition was not at all the most difficult part, but Morgan was really feeling a bit sad about moving on to the next thing after this part. So repetition it was! Morgan would put the creature down on the ground, and then give the command. Now that the houluh knew what to do, he would get up in the chair and sit down, and hold that until Morgan gave him a treat and lots of praise and then put him down on the ground again. Then, it would start all over one Morgan made the command signal again. The houluh would once again jump up in the chair and then sit down and stay put until he was treated and then put back down on the ground. This was repeated again and again and again until Morgan was very sure that he had learned the command and would remember it.

It was finally time for Morgan to move on to something else with the houluh; and that something else was something that was absolutely necessary, but would not be fun to do. Morgan had already planned out how they were going to do this, but it was still not something that they were excited to work on really. Morgan wasn't soft hearted, or anything like that of course, but they really did not want to have to do it. However, the houluh refused to allow them to go off on their own to danger, he could sense it somehow, so it was required that he learn how to dodge danger to give Morgan a chance to get him out of danger, and that was that. "Alrighty boyo, you about ready to try something else?" Morgan began putting away the stool and other things. Then, Morgan took the rocks out of the creature packs, and removed the creature pockets from the houluh and put it away.

Now that there wasn't a whole lot of stuff around to harm the houluh possibly while they were working on this, Morgan hearkened back to their work with the foam ball throwing machine back at the gym. The houluh had already learned how to kind of dash away from physical things; and Morgan was hoping that it would pave the way for this important lesson to take hold faster than they would have otherwise expected. "Alrighty boyo, here we go." Morgan said, and then they pulled out a small box of degradable 'beebees' from their backpack. They had chosen these for teaching the danger dodging thing because they figured that they were smaller and faster than anything else, and since the houluh already had the basics for this, these would be required to really fine tune his abilities. The houluh watched as Morgan threw one of the beebees, and Morgan watched as he just barely dodged it. Ah, there were those 'basics' coming in.

So the houluh had the basics of knowing that he needed to dodge, but probably not the fine-tuned 'sensing' aspect down quite yet. Morgan didn't really know how this worked, and neither did anyone else most likely; it would seem that most of the Labs-made creatures had an inkling of their wild instincts left, and they could generally tell when the first attack was about to happen. Well, save for when something roared at them, which apparently made their brains magically stupid. Morgan had no idea how that worked either, but that was the way that it was. Morgan had heard about it on the radio about the pit, so it had to be true. "Good job, boyo!" Morgan called out, while throwing another beebee at them, The houluh always enjoyed their games, but he wasn't really expecting it and got hit this time. The next time Morgan threw one though, he was much more on his game and dodged away from that one.

This was going to require a lot of work, and luckily, Morgan and the pup were both willing to put in the work to make sure that the creature could dodge things without necessarily having to expect them. It had to be like an automatic instinct, an instant thing. It couldn't be something that the creature had to put thought into, because that would cause issues in the long run. He wasn't really learning it if he couldn't do it at the drop of a hat, of course. Morgan continued to throw beebees at the tiny creature, sometimes hitting him with them, and sometimes he would get out of the way. As they continued over the course of thirty minutes, the houluh was beginning to dodge more and more of them until the creature was starting to dodge more of them than were hitting him. That was quite good thus far, but not quite good enough.

Morgan let him have a break for a moment until he wasn't quite as tired any more, and then they began working on it again. Now that the creature had a break and was doing quite well before; he was getting better and better and better at successfully dodging. Morgan still wasn't seeing what they were looking for so they continued for another thirty minutes and then Morgan let him rest again to catch his breath. This turned out to be one of the best ideas done today; because when they started up again, the houluh just wasn't getting hit by the beebees anymore. Morgan kept this up until they caught what they were actually looking for; the houluh was dodging things even when he wasn't really looking at them. That was a very good sign. Still, they continued with the beebee throwing for another thirty minutes until the creature managed to dodge every single beebee that came his way, even without looking at them.

There were two more quick things that Morgan wanted to get done today, since they still had just a bit more time. They were probably going to be pretty quick, Morgan figured, since they already had a lot of the groundwork for these quick things. "Alright Nico, let's work on something else." Morgan finally said. The houluh was quite tired from all of that work, but looked quite excited to be about to work on something different. Morgan figured that the idea would be something that wouldn't take a lot of work out of the pup, so that he could rest a bit while working on it. The next trick was going to be to teach him to put away his toys. Morgan figured that this one could be a verbal command, because it wouldn't need to be used from far off, honestly. But how to train something like this? Morgan already had an idea.

It shouldn't be too difficult, Morgan figured, especially when the houluh would be showed how to do it. Morgan chose a command word for it, and then took all of the toys out of the backpack, scattering them around. Then, Morgan picked up a small toybox that had been made for the creature out of a half of a miniature barrel, and then sat the toybox on the ground quietly. "Alrighty, lets see..." Morgan said, as they tried to figure out the best way to do this. The houluh stepped over the grass and then sat down next to Morgan as they sat on the grass. The bespectacled human petted him on the head and ears gently, and then decided to start. "Nico, Put up your toys!" Morgan said, simply. The houluh raised his ears up a bit, listening, and knowing that this had to be a new command, but what did it mean?

What does it mean, what does it mean? It would seem like it went this way each and every time, not that it bothered Morgan. Morgan should have realized that the RoT was allowing them to really understand what Nico was 'thinking' for some degree, but they were really oblivious to it past the notice. "Nico, put up your toys." Morgan could have facepalmed, what a lame choice of a command word. As soon as they said that, Morgan took the houluh pup over to a toy, and he grabbed it of course because he loved his toys, and then Morgan took the critter over to the toybox and asked him to drop the toy. "Good boyo, Nico!" Morgan called out excitedly, petting him and giving him a treat. At that, Nico glanced around, seeming to realize that he was supposed to pick them up when that command was given; but not really understanding how many yet.

Of course Morgan did not know exactly how much the RoT was helping yet, as the pair unconsciously sent bit and bobs of understanding through the thing (did anyone ever really... 'talk' through them?) but it wasn't quite detectable to Morgan, despite the uncanny feeling that perhaps the houluh was starting to 'catch on' just a tad quicker. Morgan called out the command again "Nico, put up your toys." Morgan said again, knowing that it was difficult sometimes for critters to memorize a command in verbal tones since they did not speak like humans do. The houluh took just a moment, nervously moving over to a toy and then picking it up, before moving over and putting it into the toy box delicately, anxiously. Morgan smiled. "Good boyo, Nico, good boyo, now put up your toys!" Morgan said again. This time Nico ran to another toy and put it into the basket much quickler.

Ah, so it was going to be like this, huh? Morgan ran him through the command again and again until he had picked up every single toy and placed it in the basket, and then finally gave him the treat. "Good boyo, Nico!" Morgan called out, excitedly, petting him. At that; Morgan stood and picked up the bucket and tossed every single toy back out onto the yard around them. "Nico, put up your toys!" Morgan gave the command, again. Nico put one toy in the basket, and then looked up at Morgan expectantly. After that he seemed to realize that he needed to get ALL of the toys. So he began taking all of the toys to the basket. "Good boyo, Nico!" Morgan said, and lots of treats were to be had as they repeated this over and over and over for about forty minutes; when Morgan was finally sure that he had gotten the trick.

Despite the fact that Morgan really needed to get them home basically right now, Morgan was biting the bullet on needed to finish off some of the easiest things to train. Of course, Morgan had been planning the 'get' commands soon (though Morgan wanted to get some really fancy looking toys before doing that) and had always been planning on training him his locations (they were going to wait for a bit on that as well); the human knew that they could at least finish the last two other than those. There were so many things that Morgan wanted to be able to teach; but it was important to get these easy things out of the way. The first of those two things that Morgan decided upon was the 'Please' behavior. Nico needed to be taught to scratch on doors before he entered them, and Morgan was going to take him to the bathrooms in the park to do it.

The restrooms at the park were not usually utilized, and Morgan wasn't planning on doing such today. The thought of utilizing the facilities here was quite disgusting, even though the labs' bots tended to keep them pretty clean Morgan assumed. Morgan called for the houluh pup to follow them, and they began to walk to the restrooms with haste. Nico seemed to think it was some kind of game to beat them, and Morgan tried not to pay too much attention to the way that the houluh tried to surpass them. After they got to the restrooms, the houluh took one sniff of the area and crinkled his nose. Morgan barked a quick laugh; "Yeah, yeah I getcha boyo, me too." The bathrooms didn't really smell as bad as they could have had; but Morgan wasn't big on it. After a moment, Morgan decided to try it. They stepped into the bathroom past the houluh's nose, and closed the door without him being able to get in.

Morgan knew what was going to happen next. Morgan didn't have to wait very long for it to happen either. The houluh gave a soft huffing noise, and then began to scratch at the door's frame, wanting to be let in. Morgan quickly opened the door, and gave him a treat to let him know that he had done well. This would serve as the command; whenever a door was closed that he wanted to get in, Morgan would open it if he needed to scratch the door. "Good boyo, Nico!" The bespectacled human was really just building off of something they had noticed that he already did, but now it would be moved to even doors that aren't shut, before he came in. Morgan would work with him until that was the case! Morgan shut the door again, and again; a scratch, a single scrape against the doorframe. "Good boyo, Nico!" Morgan opened the door, and gave him another treat.

This went on for some time, with Morgan working on making sure that the creature was treated when he did properly, and he did better and better each time that they worked on this. Morgan made sure to keep everything on a repetition even this early in the training; whenever the door was shut, Nico would give a single good scrape at the door to ask Morgan to come inside the room. At which point the door would be opened, Nico would be treated, given lots of pets, and praised. These things together seemed to do wonders with the repetition in order to get the creature trained. However, they weren't quite done yet. Morgan gave him a moment to catch his bearings and then this time left the door open, simply walking back into the darkness just a little bit. The creature finally walked up, taking a guess it would seem, and scraped the doorframe first.
