See? She was doing a really... really god job of not getting into Houluh on top of all her other projects... Really. The more times she thought about it, the truer it would become. Duh. Just like all of those other projects that needed done... "Foggy!" Leth attempted, seeing if she could get the pup's attention just with some commotion, like worked with most of them. Even on a leash, Foggy didn't appear to have much reason to pay mind to the chatty weight at the end of her tether. It was way more fun to keep zig-zagging through the snow, leaving a trail of dragging paws and sometimes a third channel for her face buried in the fresh powder. Snorting to herself, Lethalia couldn't blame the pup for basically ignoring her. Why would you listen to a stranger when young and curious, with things to explore far more tempting than an unfamiliar human. December|2 name|1

More time to spend with this gorgeous pup, and they'd get used to one another. Perhaps the pup would become interested in her owner's presence, and Lethalia could eventually figure out what made the houluh 'tick' and play to that to keep their training time interesting. Just now, snow and a brand new area to explore was doing the trick. Others would have been peeing themselves being put into such a different situation, but Foggy was too wrapped up in being fascinated by all the smells and sounds to be had. She didn't seem even one bit jittery - not a bad sign, given her circumstances. Rehoming didn't always go smoothly, but the easygoing nature of the houluh thus far gave Leth hope that Foggy was going to be one of the easy ones. Likely a thought had too often, and she was wrong more often than not, but a gal could hope. December|3

Leth wasn't sure what prompted her to bring Foggy to the mansion; her last foray with Gold had been terribly brief, and this would likely be the first 'real' trip she brought a houluh along to. Her ventures were few and far between, and almost always with a leash for just in case. She never knew what the mansion was going to be up to, and still wasn't quite sure if there was a mastermind behind the mansion or if it was the building itself that was sapient and to be feared. "Foggy," Leth prompted again, worry coloring her voice as the thought of the mansion's magic sent a prickle down her spine. It would be nice if the grey pup got around to listening to her or otherwise paying her mind when there was so much that could happen at this place. Right - what was her reasoning of going here anyway? December|4 name|2

Foggy glanced over her shoulder, but other things were priority. Like running the entire line of the fence where many previous critters had left their mark, taking in those scents were way ahead in importance to a houluh. "Hey! Foggy!" Lethalia called again, louder with a clap of her hands. Didn't want Foggy getting into the habit of ignoring her name, after all. More than her name, the clap sprung the pup's grey head back out of the snow with ears perked; what?! what happened, where was it?! "G'girl, Foggy!" she praised quickly, her voice pitched and bright. As if uncertain, Foggy's tail wagged off to the side, taking a few steps towards her owner. "Yeahhh g'girl," Leth continued, reaching forward to playfully ruffle those ridiculously long ears. It was a wonder the puppies managed to ever get away without tripping over them. Foggy lv|1 ly|2 December|5 name|3

Tail going at a more sincere speed, Foggy growled playfully and whirled away from the teasing hand, spraying snow as she ducked into a bow. "Oh yeah? Foggy?" The houluh yipped in response with such effort it made her entire body pop back up, feet splayed and at the ready to play. "Yeah, y'good, but les' at least get in th' gate." They truly wouldn't find anything at the place if they remained out here. "C'mon, Foggy baby." Patting her thigh to encourage the pup at the end of the leash along, Foggy waited until there was a slight pull at the collar before she raced back ahead of the satyr's hooves. "There'sa girl," Lethalia confirmed with an easy smile, an ease about the lit in her voice that implied she wasn't thinking about putting it into place. It didn't take much to get Foggy worked up again, the simple praise sending the pup nipping at her owner's heels with her bubbling excitement. December|6 name|4

"Hey - no - doesn' mean y'get to be a righ' terror!" she scolded, picking up her hoof and shaking Foggy free of the long curly fetlocks around her ankles. "No." Said even more flatly, and with much more of a 'big' voice. Foggy hadn't wasted a moment diving at Lethalia's hoof fluff again, flailing upright and going right for her new plaything the instant she plopped back down into the snow. That, just barely, caused Foggy to slow. The pup's steps came more haltingly, almost pointing with each stride, but she still leaned forward to try and latch onto her owner's fur once again. "No, y' stop it." Booming of her serious voice rose along with her hoof, bringing it down to make a thunderous crack on the sidewalk below the snow. (Hopefully she hadn't, uh, actually damaged it. Hurry, walk away before someone could be of mind to check.) December|7 no|1

It felt a bit early to have to crack down so hard, but she wasn't going to have a pup acting like that. It woud've been preferred to be able to just ignore Foggy until she got bored of her new little game, but it was pretty hard to dismiss something just hanging off her hoof feathers. They were getting off to a good start. Foggy was quite a lot less sensitive than Maple, and sprung back from her cutting voice almost instantly. The admonished tail tucked between her legs lasted mere seconds - until she heard a sound, perked an ear, and trotted off to the end of her leash's allowance without a second thought. Well. This was either going to be helpful in training her or a right terror. Either way it was in her life now. "Foggy baby, can we at leas' get in th'gate 'bfore the next big thing?"December|8 no|2 name|5

At the uptick in Lethalia's voice and hearing her name, Foggy's ears swiveled in her direction, the rest of the puppy following once she'd finished checking out whatever it was she thought she heard at the fenceline. Abandoning her previous project to lope up to her owner, the satyr had a moment to be curious if Foggy had actually seen anything at all. Bringing creatures to this place was supposed to be a boon, a way for them to sense any sort of magical presence before she did. Instead they only made her paranoid, wondering at every thing the critters found interest or fear in. Thus far, all of their findings had been completely banal and only very few had even been remotely magical. Shrugging off the feeling, Lethalia forced herself to figure Foggy had been looking at nothing at all. It was the only way they were going to get anywhere. December|9 name|6 'name' training end

That huge wrought iron gate would never look inviting, no matter what form it took. Either a talented artisan or magi had their hands on it, to work those delicate twists of black metal perfectly into images dancing around the larger spokes. On one side, a winter sun, spreading it's rays over a tree with a jolly bird perched within it, a winterized spriteling looking to be unearthing more seeds for the winter. On the other gate panel, neither shine nor moon but clouds, who managed to look grey and heavy in spite of only being iron outlines. Even more winter creatures flocked there, given their white coats from the snowy grounds past the gate. A galabex, a snox - that might've been a white bear off in the distance, but more likely a PHIL. Each twist of metal protruded just enough to catch drops of water as it melted off the metal, leaving each end dripping with a miniscule icicle. Foggy lv|2 ly|4 December|10

Foggy whined and jolted Lethalia out of her admiration; it had been long enough for the pup to muss up every inch of snow that was walkable at the end of her leash, creating a dappled halo of puppy prints around her. Apparently, that meant the pup had expended all that she had to do in this area while her owner was off in never-land. "Heya Foggy," the satyr responded, as if there had never been a pause at all. Get in the gate before another conniption, indeed. "Lessgo baby girl."The first shove at the gate had less effect than she expected, a lame squeaking and some rattling. Throwing her shoulder into one side got the gate to budge open a few inches, mounding up the snow behind it. It was enough to be a pup-sized gap, so of course Foggy pushed her way through as soon as the opportunity presented itself. December|11

The houluh wedged herself into the opening, her shoulders and chest coming through with a pop, only to get hung up on her hips. Somehow through contortions only a puppy could do, those little back paws kicked and flailed and found her a way through. Well. Stopping on the other side, Foggy shook herself off from the exertion, dirty rusty stains all along her white sides. All Leth could do was watch; she didn't notice soon enough to put her hoof in the way, and she wasn't going to yank the pup out of the barely-open gate. A sigh of lamentation of Foggy's pretty white coat getting mussed, and the effort it would take to get that out. "Foggy," Lethalia warned too late, to the barest look over the pup's shoulder. Still attached to her leash she couldn't get far, but the last thing she needed was the mansion grounds taking advantage of them being somewhat separated. December| 12

Throwing her shoulder at the gate, the satyr couldn't make it budge again. Foggy was still clearly visible though the iron bars, yipping at her owner being silly and staying out there instead of in here! Her tail started wagging harder as Leth reached a hand through to pet the pup as if to soothe her, but in reality the satyr likely needed the measure of calm more than Foggy. Too much in life was out of her control for the woman to be a constant worrier, erring to the side of assuming everything will work out rather than projecting doom and gloom. She was too busy to spend energy on that. But. But. This place and it's innate magics were well-established to her as something to treat with caution, even if it was slated as safe for would-be adventurers to go find trinkets without ever leaving the city itself. Leth could just never bring herself to trust magics that once separated her from Esti when she was tiny, and one could say the experience stuck. It brought out the mamma bear in her; she could've leveled that entire orchard in her fervor to find the hatchling. The mansion had proved inert enough to continue venturing to it's grounds - and her need to prove something that she wasn't scared of the place. Even if every visit, the place set her spine to crawling, beset upon by a neurotic need to double-check there was still something attached to the leash. So magic and a completely untrained puppy? Not great. Reminding herself she chose to come here, Lethalia ground her hooves in the snow until the dirt grated underfoot, bracing herself to give the gate another heave. There was half a thought given that Foggy could get in the way, but she didn't really have to worry about it when the gate still didn't move. December|14

Seemingly entertained by her owner's oddities for quite some time, Foggy had grown impatient on the other side. There was only so much fun to be had with the woman on the other side! It drove the pup mad how limiting the leash was, keeping her tethered and within a yard or two of the satyr. Which wasn't all bad, but she wanted to do do her own exploration too. Foggy hit the end of the leash again, forgetting she was attached to something on the way to chase after a shadow in the snow, the leather cord pulling taut and bouncing her backwards. Apparently that was enough for the puppy to be completely and utterly done with this thing limiting her! It wasn't fair at all, that she had to be tied up while she could run wild at the farm she'd seen briefly, or anywhere else; this place sucked if it meant she had to be tied down for it. Ah - that was the answer! Just take care of the tether itself, duh. If Foggy could sever the tie, she could have this entire untouched snow field to explore on her own. Who knew what riches it was rife with!? There were so many smells just beneath the surface just waiting to be discovered and sniffed. Recharged by the idea of freedom, Foggy plopped her little butt down in the snow, the slack leash quickly snapped up in her tiny jaws. It was sort of tough - Foggy adjusted it further to her molars, laying down too try and get better leverage. It took Leth a while to look down before being given a jolt. "No Foggy," Lethalia warned; the low growl compared to the satyr's normal voice gave the pup pause. She didn't like how loud it was last time that word came up! Reluctantly the cord of leather was spat out, and the satyr could breathe the barest amount of relief. December|16 no|3
