Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 3 day deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

Ashe had had to scrape his jaw up off the ground after that last battle. He'd gone a while now thinking that Ghidorah was pretty fast and could handle anything speedy. But then he hadn't even gotten a chance to attack, or to try to scare the other Drake into distraction, before he'd been one shotted and dropped to the ground like a fly. No daring feats in the air, zipping around ducking and dodging each other, nothing flashy, no chance to use the lightning to do his bidding. Just. Done.
Ashe and Inyala had left to go see to Ghidorah's recovery, and had stayed with him a while. Now, they were back, and Ashe was still looking him over for any sign that the battle had had an effect on him. Ashe knew he didn't like to lose, and he was losing quite often in this tournament. He hated doing it to him, and would rather just pull him out, but neither of them were quitters, damn it!
Ghidorah walked alongside Ashe as the man led them to the gate to the arena. He was quiet, silent and calculating, possibly plotting how he could battle better. When they arrived, Ashe touched the Sarane's shoulder briefly, then they parted, and Ashe hurried up to the stands with Inyala so they could get a good view. Hopefully not of another failure...

Well, the time had finally come - the last battle. It wouldn't have been entirely wrong for the two of them to have said they were glad the tournament was drawing to a close, as the emotional and physical toll on them both had been considerable, but at the same time, what they set out for - why Detritus had even volunteered in the first place - was none the less achieved. The battles had been ample enough distraction to get the mammalian's mind off of the incident at the forest's edge and in many ways the two of them had grown stronger in bond as well, with Darky able to better sense the tat-lung's emotional state when he begun to get too close to the Static. And on Detritus' part, though he would have been careful to say it out loud, he had stood faced with the Static and managed to come back on his own power. At least.. a few of the times..
The doors of the arena parted as tat-lung and adjacent mammalian walked out into the arena's light from the dimness beyond, the latter's hand raised to her eyes as she squinted across. What she saw gave her pause, a momentum the tat-lung immediately pick up on and stood staring ahead at.
Sarane..? he said, tentatively almost.
Yep, Darky replied, eyes already scanning higher and, there it was, right as rain, the man himself already waiting in the stands.
Was this one.. you know, with Cathàn's..? his head turned to her, brows worried.
Yep.. Darky nodded.
And that one.. the human, he was the one with the serpent..?
The mammalian breathed in and out, resolved to just take it as it was. Yep.. What a time and a place for a reunion, of all times and all places. Regardless, it was how it was and she turned towards the tat-lung, a smile directed at him as her hands reached out to hold his head, Not going to lie to you, it will probably be difficult, this one. But you can do it, just stay focused, keep your head on and I'll try to help you as much above as I can, alright?
Detritus scanned her face, taking in the assurances (for he desperately needed them), before the two leaned their heads in, foreheads bumping together briefly and the mammalian turned to leave. Moments later, she reappeared in the trainer's stand above and the heavy doors begun to close behind the tat-lung. Detritus watched them, until the finally soft 'thud' signaled that all last hope of escaping the ensuing fight was gone. Facing forwards, he began to stretch his back and legs, heart-rate rising, as he quietly tried to mutter some assurances to himself. He could do this, he could do this..
At the back of his mind, phantom pains of Cathàn's claws and teeth digging into his side and neck began to form, but he forced the sensations back down.

As the creatures readied themselves the sphinx did a bit of mental pushing-back of her own. Things were probably still not quite sorted between them, despite that one battle with the blue drake, but they could hardly start a discussion here and now, halfway across the arena, so those concerns had to take a backseat. Instead, she glanced down into the Pit, trying to size up the drake as best as she could while recalling everything she remembered of him, in both her own, immediate experience, as well as by proxy from the droid's observations. Fingers lightly tapped against the railing while the tailtip flicked side to side slowly behind her. This one was fast and the ruddertail had all too many times proven just how much faster it could make a sarane. Cathàn had been slow, forever and always, thus earning him the moniker which ended up being a point of strange pride in the end, but the difference between him and Detritus were night and day.
It didn't help that Cathàn had also defeated Det.
But first things first, they had the initiative, they had to keep it. "Det, thunder!"
The tat-lung finished his fidgeting and planted his feet properly. He didn't feel completely ready (though, to be fair, he could never feel completely ready) and the prospect of long, sickle claws cutting his scales was a most unendearing concept. He slowly blinked, breathing in and out, a small, faint bit of glow starting up in his eyes as the air around the arena subtly shifted, seeming to invisibly pool together in the middle, thicker and thicker, heavier and heavier. Nobody yet stood there, though any such would have found it harder to breathe the stale air. Detritus' claws extended, paused and suddenly clenched. The air tore two different ways and the rent moment sent a thunderous shockwave outward across the arena.

Though he kept his outward appearance as neutral as possible, Ashe groaned inwardly when he saw who his next opponent was. Ghidorah didnt stand a chance, as far as Ashe could predict. Det was on Alaska's level, and Ghidorah probably wouldn't even know what hit him before he was waking up again. Ashe hated throwing his Drake into the storm unprepared like this, and he had learned some lessons about Sarane versus Other Species. So long he had participated in just Sarane battles, it was refreshing to try his hand at other Species.
Tat lung on the other hand... especially lightning fast tat lung...
But he couldn't let any of this sink through. His jumbled thoughts quickly shielded themselves even from the ribbon, and all he had were words of encouragement and belief in the Sarane. Ghidorah marched, wings stretching slightly. He was a big drake, he could do this!
Something was going on with the tat lung. Glowing eyes, air starting to smell like storm, and then it happened - a loud crack! Ashe flinched despite himself; normally, creatures made some sort of movement before the sound and he could prepare, but Det was the storm.
"Brace yourself," Ashe warned, a little late. Ghidorah too had flinched, but he was recovering fast. Inyala had the worst of it, having fallen from Ashes shoulder and just barely catching herself on the arm Ashe raised to also try and catch her. He cradled her against his chest, a more secure perch for his little minion.

The reverberations of the thunder disappeared into the depths of the arena, dying down as they went and the mammalian lowered the hands from her ears. Well, the drake was briefly shaken, so far so good. And the tat-lung seemed warmed up, though the tenseness in his being gave proof to his true inner condition. Outwardly he seemed focused, eyes still slightly radiating from the summoned magic, but inside?
He didn't know exactly why it was but the Static at the back of his head was.. different, this time. Insistent, beguiling, tempting - those impulses he had grown to be familiar with. By no means comfortable, far from it, but they were simply something he Knew now. Instead it felt as if there was some form of rejoice in the static, something between liberation and revelation, but Detritus knew it could not be either. It was kept in check, the door was closed, not even parted a crack. He had made sure of that.. Hadn't he?
"Det, rasut!" came the call from above, snapping him out of his thoughtful stupor and the glow from the eyes faded with a blink. The drake was already recovering, the seconds won were about to be spent and he flinched at the realization, taking off towards the right of him, running a few steps before leaping up into the air. With twirling serpentine movements he climbed every higher, snaking his way into a distance between him as the drake.

Ghidorah shook off the crack of sound that had him momentarily paralyzed. His whole body shook, like a vulticus shaking water from its coat, and the shake went from head to tail tip, with wings flapping out to stretch, too. It was a decently timed shake, because Ashe's next command was simple; return the favor to the Tat-lung. He wouldn't be able to get him before he took off, seeing as the tat was already in the air, but he could still shake him up a bit himself! At the command, given through their ribbon link rather than spoken, Ghidorah rocked back onto his hind legs, his wings stretching fully out. He gave a few test flaps, then brought them down together as hard and fast as he could. The resulting sound would be similar to a crack of thunder, though not as authentic as Det's magical element had been.
Inyala was prepared for this one, she knew the signs and what would come. She covered her ears, though, because it was a terribly loud sound regardless and she'd heard some form of "make loud noise" in each battle so far! Now the real battle could start!
Ashe watched Ghidorah a moment longer, but thought it would be more productive to watch Det instead and trust that Ghidorah would make it to his mark. "Very good. Keep him in sight, don't let him get away.

The Sarane got the earth shaking crack of sound out as quickly as physically possible for a Sarane, but it still wasn't fast enough for the tat lung lightning titan. He was in the sky, body twisting around with such grace and speed, Ashe knew there was no way they were going to be able to land a hit from the ground. And if Ashe assumed correctly, lightning attacks probably wouldn't hurt him, seeing how he had so much control over the element in the past. So they would have to get close enough to bite him... probably a couple of times.
Into the air, Sparky! Volar! Ashe commanded. He had an advantage with his tail find, something Ghidorah prided himself with by flying even faster than Fafnir. But would it be fast enough to go to to toe with a Tat?
Ghidorah flapped his wings, pushed off with his powerful hind legs, and took to the skies. He flapped harder, trying to catch up to his opponent before he recovered. His black and yellow body became a blur, his tail out behind him to help steer and feel the currents. The sky was where he belonged!
Ashe and Inyala craned their heads upward to watch. Again, Ashe spared a glance for Ghidorah, making sure everything was alright, then he went back to watching Det.

The crack of sound hit him much as it usually did, though this time the tonality of it was different - the thundergug stomped and pounded the ground into a great uproar of tremors, some of them even trumpeting their deep voices at him. This was, potentially, the first time he had been hit by a sound that was, essentially, the equivalent of a handclap, but scaled up about five-six times in the hand size.
Detritus jolted in his flight, banking suddenly back and forth as he rubbed his ears. There wasn't all too much of a time to think and wonder in such situations, though later down the line he would have pondered over the fact winged creatures seemed to have sheer enough strength in their wing-arms to essentially create sonic booms. It was strange to someone who had no wings and would never need any to fly, but the reverse was true of him to a winged creature, he would eventually suppose.
In that time and moment, however, both tat-lung and sphinx tried to weather the proverbial sound storm, so to speak. It wasn't long until the tat-lung's ears were finally clear and his head quiet again. At least, quieter.

Inyala was surprised. That Tat-lung was the fastest thing she had ever seen before! The way his body rippled and coiled around, and he flew without wings - how unfair, she actually had wings and could not fly, and here this thing was without wings and able to fly! What would have normally been a gorgeous flight to look at was troubling; Ghidorah had been the fastest thing the little Imp had seen in the sky previously (she'd even gotten to ride it with Ashe during training!) but this Tat might be even faster... And not on her Master's side.
Ghidorah shot into the air, his tail out behind him and helping to guide him through the currents, his little fins catching and helping him go faster. He quickly caught up to the stunned Tat-Lung, and now they were both in the air, on equal ground as far as Ghidorah was concerned. Ashe knew they were still far from equal; he didn't know all the tricks Det had up his sleeves. But Ghidorah stood a better chance up here, than down there.
Good job, Sparky! Keep it up. Mordre! He gave the praise and the command at the same time, hoping to boost his confidence and at the same time fling him into the bloodshed. He just needed a little bit... more and he could win. Stranger things had happened.
Ghidorah moved at once, his ego surging in his chest. He swooped at the Tat-lung, fangs bared, ready to tear a chunk out of his foe.

There was still an edge to it, to that part of his mind that ever wanted out, but for now it was (relatively) under control. The good thing was the sarane's agility in the air proved to a target far too quick to hit with lightning, which meant the tat-lung didn't have to go knocking on the proverbial trouble door. The bad thing was the mammalian informed him his options were a little more limited than that. That increased static? The tingling sensation he couldn't name earlier?
The drake is like you, in blood, Darky told him. Thunder had boomed a number of times in the Pit during this tournament, but only a select few other instances had lightning crackled. It had taken them a while to figure out why the blue-green one kept sensing something even when in the housing below between his battles, until the mammalian had gone to see some of the fights herself. Now, so close to one source of it, it was no wonder something in his senses was being tickled. Which also meant there's a strong prospect of having to go brawn-to-brawn, something which wasn't Det's forte by a mile. Though, perhaps, there were still something that could be done about that speed of the drake.
"Det, static!"
The tat-lung's head swept towards her, You're sure that'll even work?
We wont know until we try.
It wasn't exactly a comforting answer, but at least there was truth in it. The tat-lung dove down, snaking in dodgy circles through the air. He didn't need to be touching the drake but still needed to be a little closer than the other side of the arena. As he moved energy began to crackle along his spine and mane, causing it to waver around as if underwater. Then, close enough, he suddenly swooped around in a U-turn, tail sweeping in a wide arc behind him, discharging the static build-up at the drake.
