Happy Vai-Min-Mur!
We hope you are having fun with the festivities this month so far! This day, on the 13th of October, the Vai-Min-Mur Submission Contest Begins! Everyone on site should do something for this contest- but what you ask? Well, if you are an artist, you can do an art piece! If you are a writer, you can write us a poem, or some prose! Even if you don't think that you do the 'best' art or the 'best' poetry/prose, I urge you to still submit something. I promise that you will want to! Anything submitted must be Autumn, Fall Holiday (any Kind), or Vai-Min-Mur related though!
-
What do I get if I do this? Well, uh, I dunno. ;3 It's a secret.
What do I get if I win? Also a secret. c:
TLDR; What do I need to do? Submit an art piece, poetry, or prose that has to do with the Fall Season! Please put your submission under a spoiler regardless of what it is to keep it easy to scroll on the page.
-
This is a friendly 'competition' and trust me, you will want to submit even if you think your work isn't as good as someone else's. This doesn't require perfection!

This is actually the first poem I've written since high school. It's about the creepy Mansion during the holiday. Empty hallway, Whispers echo Footsteps muffled, soft with socks. Of your sanity you must let go, Irreparable from aftershocks.
The things seen within, Often witnessed, never understood. Fall from grace, full of sin, Freedom restrained since childhood.
Inside this mansion there lies a magic, Prizes abound, gifts aplenty. Yet follow the voice that speaks so tragic, You will not live to five and twenty.
Outside there is a graveyard, Ancient and old beyond belief, Try to escape; the exit barred, Desperate for some kind of relief.
Should not have come here, you have regrets, Reasons forgotten, mistakes occur. Chill air; break out in cold sweats, On this night of Vai Min Mur.

Trembling twenty leaves Spinning about yet anchored On Twenty thin stems
Howling ripping wind And suddenly itty leaf A single one, falls
A twisted ladder Double Helix whirlwind round Leaf sailing unknown
Where will it go now The trembling leaf now alone Too fast on the wind
Perhaps it will fly Somewhere far beyond seeing Of those other leaves
Or mayhaps it will Fall along the trodden path And crunch beneath feet
Still yet, beyond guess The leaf will be followed by Brothers and Sisters
Mothers of Thousands Of trembliest leaf siblings Trees with sharp claw hands
Cut the winds rip by Shrieking their shrill screams, carry away The youngsters regardless
Mother tree, don't fear There will soon be more next year Replace those Journeyed
Little leaves, afresh Each year trees renew again Taller, Wiser, More
Growing will be pain Leaves will often disappear Will spring come anew
Spring will come, summer, then will Fall, winter as well Turns the wheel again
. . .
Trembling fifty leaves Spinning about yet anchored On Fifty thin stems... (Raspberry)

Blueberry Leaves of green, and then of amber Warming breeze, and then grow colder Quiet streets, and then fill over Monsters, witches, golems, and goblins
Many days one after another Still they seem to go by faster Catch them all before the disaster Monsters, witches, golems, and goblins
Chocolate, sugar, apples and caramel Many lights, and tissue on those that fail Stay up late and eat sugar until pale Monsters, witches, golems, and goblins
Cardboard, fabric, hair wigs, and makeup Running frantic until your wakeup Once a year, so better stay up Monsters, witches, golems, and goblins

Lime First time I tried my hand at watercolor pencils, I think it worked out quite well. :D I call it "Even parents trick their children sometimes.. just for fun."

That Warden needs his eyes checked. I am not a moth. A little doodle of Flare getting dressed up for VaiMinMur by a very overexcited Warden who fully believed one day his horns were moth antennae and needed to look such. The rest was burlap sacks and india paintbrush. I'm partial to raspberry, since grape isn't a choice.

Strawberry Equillion fight The night ends with you now Have it all again
Spooks and spirits writhe The end of it all begins Have a fearful night
Tomorrow ends now All the fear begins again All the spooks say boo

I'm short on time, I said. It would just be a quick sketch, I said. Hah. Haha. Ha. Lime is my favorite from the list.
Scene from last month in the Mansion (which isn't technically Vai Min Mur, but is fall themed). Gusty is happy to find a "treasure" for its person. Nerius.. isn't exactly impressed by a fork.

Phew! Not my best work, but written in the spirit of things. :3 An ICly writen poem by Nadia, observing her Galabex in the Fall. My favourite is green apple! Hooves on the green
like a kiss, like a dream,
like mist as it rises
over the streams,
the morning’s death-shroud.
If there is one thing
to be gained from the watch
of the Galabex in the dawn,
it is their grace, the forlorn
walk of the earthbound mythic.
And what of us, who
see their prance in the autumn,
antlers caught with leaves
that die and twirl
and fall, fall, fall down?
They live crowned with
a skeleton. A ghoul
in the woods, its blinking eyes, then
gone.

Cherry. Just a short poem from Fanged's perspective about her Specter. I dreamed that I was awake, with silent black paws that tread over stone With swiftness in each step and a distinct longing to be alone. My heart takes me to dark places, ears forward, body alert The instinct to run and dive, to prance and chase, bite and hurt.
No sense of my corporeal self, inside the body of a ghost I am trapped. The world is distant, even with my presence, to survive I must adapt. Dangers surrounding are diminished, by their inability to touch my fur. Instead my fears are focused on myself, the rest of the world a blur.
I awaken to find I am myself again, with a solid body and sentient mind. My body feels empty, as though my senses were gone and I was suddenly blind. Melancholy strikes leaving me in a low state with no desire to ascend. Hope is not lost, I am lifted by the appearance of a ghostly friend.

Escorts Because guarding your organic's lesser, smaller organics when they want to go running around for candy is a dutiful job (feat. Ras, Fhèr and a very enthusiastic Noari)
