The garbage bag drifted by her slowly at first, like a jellyfish, but quickly picked up speed, moving faster and faster in tumbleweed-like motions, carrying itself away while spilling the grasses that Fiera had already put hard work into pulling up all over the ground. “Hey, no! Not allowed!” Fiera screeched, struggling to stand up to run after it. It bounced past Lisan, who barely gave it a second glance and the humanish hissed with frustration. The baakir was truly a single minded beast when it came to her food, now wasn’t she? Or perhaps she just thought that stopping it or paying it any mind at all was beneath her. Now it was up to Fiera to catch it, and it was getting away rather quickly. Finally she managed to rise to her feet, her weeding forgotten as she sped off after it, kicking up sprays of pebbles in her wake.

“Oh, come on!” The humanish shrieked as the wind changed directions, carrying the bag off somewhere else, forcing Fiera to make a sharp turn to keep up with it. She wasn’t expecting a plastic bag to be such fierce competition in athletic ability, but here she was. After putting on a burst of speed however, Fiera found herself finally catching up with it. She reached out with her clawed hand and finally managed to snatch it out of the air, dragging it back toward her. “Finally.” She huffed, looking back over her shoulder. It had managed to spill just about all of its contents in its mad dash for freedom. Fiera sighed as she realized that her efforts to clean up the garden had just gotten a little more useless. She had a bit more work cut out for her now as she tromped over to the nearest clump of grass.

She tossed the escaped clumps back into the bag one after the other, taking a lot less care with picking them up and throwing them back in then she did with pulling them up to start with. Curious, she lifted one clump up and offered it to Lisan to see if the baakir would eat it. She leaned down for a moment, sniffing loudly and Fiera made sure to hold her hand still. A short nibble, a crunch… and the sahel baakir turned up her nose at it and went back to feeding on the acacia tree. Fiera sighed- it had been worth a try, at least. After that, it didn’t take too long for her to collect the rest of the clumps that had gotten away. She hadn’t gotten too far in her gardening after all, or else the garbage bag would have been too heavy for the wind to blow away to start with.

Now at least she knew to keep her bag weighed down with something if she didn’t want a repeat of that chase scene. When she got back to the part of the garden she had been working on before, she tossed the bag down again before following it up with a stone. It was just a regular rock, about the size of her fist, that she found laying around the rock garden. It wasn’t particularly important, so this would probably be the biggest task of its nonexistent little life. A paperweight. Still, she noted that it worked well as she continued to work, as the bag continued to flap in the wind but the rock held it fast. That was one problem solved for her, at least. In the meantime, she continued to pull up offending clumps and threw them in the garbage bag with the rest of their fellows.

As Fiera worked however, she heard a rustling behind her, a flattering of stones in this desert-like area. She looked over, fully expecting Lisan to be standing there as if demanding to be moved to a tree with more leaves on it. Instead, she saw a full blown scuffle between members of the local wildlife. “Uh.” Fiera said eloquently as a lotine dragged itself out into the open, followed by two koguma. The creature looked quite scuffed up and confused, whereas the koguma seemed outright furious, as if the lotine had muscled in on their territory. The humanish’s ears flattened back- that wasn’t going to fly. This was her garden after all, not theirs. She stood up, brushed her pants off, and walked over to the ongoing tussle as Lisan watched placidly from the side. It was clear that the baakir wasn’t going to get involved, but she was. First things first, she planted herself firmly between the lotine and it’s attackers, using her full height to loom, but wasn’t outright aggressive.

The lotine peered around the woman's legs, panting a little as it wondered what was going on. The two koguma skidded to a stop and chittered to each other for a moment before flaring up a little and screaming at her, as though trying to get her to leave the lotine behind. It was for them!

Fiera watched as the lotine crept up behind her, apparently happy to use her as a shield if it meant staying away from these other critters. She was happy to try and get this situation under control if it meant that she could get back to her gardening. “How about…” Fiera said, rooting around in her hip pouch. “We all calm down a bit.” She said, getting out some fruit. She knew that lotine usually ate fish, but unfortunately she didn’t have any on her right now. However, the lotine wasn’t the one currently screeching with rage so she figured it would be fine. She crouched down and gently rolled the small fruits in the direction of the koguma, trying to shift their attention to something that they liked. Hopefully it would get them to chill out a bit, or at least redirect their attention. There should be enough there for both of them, but if they decided to fight each other over it… well, it was still better than them fighting her.

The fruit rolled at them... It smelled delicious and they were both thrown for a loop for a moment or two. Staring at each other, they chattered to one another as they tried to decide what to do. This was obviously a trap, but the fruit smelled so good... It was hard for them to resist. Slowly, with secondary arms, they both snatched a piece of fruit and chattered angrily at the woman as they ate, still staring at the Lotine who cowered behind her still. Though... the Lotine nuzzled up to the woman a little, recognizing a champion when it saw one.

Fiera was pleased to see her peace offering working, even if the koguma were clearly still suspicious of her. She suspected that would be the case, but she wasn’t about to give up on them. For further placation, she rolled them even more fruit before turning away slightly and crouching down to try and seem non-threatening... or at least, not threatened by them. When she felt the lotine nuzzle on her the humanish smiled slightly and reached out to gently pet it. Hopefully it would accept the gesture of kindness, but if not... well, the lotine’s entrance made it clear that it couldn’t run away very fast. To her credit as well, Lisan was still keeping a healthy distance, eyeing the situation with vague curiosity but not interfering. Whether it was for her own sake or out of disinterest Fiera couldn’t say, but she appreciated having one less problem.

Even though the Kogumas were both pretty suspicious, the Lotine seemed to adore the woman so far. It nuzzled up against her and then a song emitted for a brief moment in time before silence reigned again. The two bugs eyed the woman as they came closer to get to the food, though they were slowly growing used to her presence. It wasn't like they were against her or anything, they just... wanted the Lotine out.

Fiera glanced over the situation, evaluating it. It looked to her like the koguma had calmed down for the most part after having eaten the fruit she gave them and were now chittering nervously amongst themselves. She didn’t seem too intimidating to them, and the lotine outright loved her by this point. Now she just had to come up with a way to get them to get along with each other. They definitely wanted the lotine out of their territory... perhaps she could arrange that. The lotine was likely far too heavy for her to carry on her own of course, and she wasn’t about to scare it away, but she knew that koguma weren’t exactly clever. Perhaps she could either convince them that the lotine had disappeared, or that she had at least captured it. She dug around in her bag some more before pulling out a picnic blanket. She opened it wide and gently threw it over the lotine. “Oh look, it’s gone!” Fiera said with mock surprise. “Or... I caught it! I don’t know how dumb you are.” She said.

Giving a nervous chitter, the Koguma sneaked forward a little to see what was going on. The Lotine was gone... and it appeared the woman had magicked it away! They talked among themselves for a little while, debating on what to do. If she indeed was magical, then things wouldn't work out for them if they tried to leave. Bowing slightly, they submitted, while the Lotine peered out from under the basket, an adoring look on it's face.
[Congratulations, you've captured the 3 animals!]

With the koguma finally calmed down, Fiera felt like she could relax a little as well. This sort of chais wasn’t exactly what she had come to expect when gardening, and she needed to reset a bit. With that in mind though, getting these creatures home seemed like a good start. She moved the koguma out first, luring them back to the kennels with more ever enticing pieces of fruit and they followed eagerly. When she returned, Lisan was still lazily chewing on her trees, albeit on a different one this time. Fiera was glad that the Sahel baakir didn’t require a lot of close supervision- it was really coming in handy fof her right now. After that she got the lotine, which was still cowering where she had left it under the blanket. Still, it was a lot easier for her to bring back than the koguma and by the time she returned to the gardens she felt refreshed and ready to work again.
