Fiera had some idea of how powerful he could grow to be, of course. Custom creatures could be unpredictable, but not to that degree. Every time you bought one, the researchers (or in the case of WELP, a “biological entity acquisition specialist” whatever that meant, would inform you of how it turned out and what they could be expected to learn how to do. It was a shame that they didn’t come pretrained with all of their promised knowledge, in Fiera’s opinion. But… perhaps that would make the process even more absurdly expensive than it already was. Sebros had already cost Fiera a pretty penny, and she was now looking forward to getting to know him… so she could see if it was worth it. If he didn’t turn out how expected she wasn’t about to turn him away, but she would give the WELP representative a good earful.

She did have SOME pull in the city by this point after all. Her political career had been taking off, and there were now more than a few people who knew her name. And if there was one thing that WELP hated, it was bad PR. So that would be a nice little stick she could hit them with. Still, she’d give Sebros her best shot first. He probably didn’t even know what his personality and powers were yet, let alone Fiera- and there was undoubtedly a lot of… unstable tech shoved in there to give him those powers. So she’d give him time to settle and relax today, and hopefully they would both be able to get a better bead on each other and figure out what the other one was all about. And in the meantime, Fiera could get some gardening done, and maintain her plot.

And it wasn’t like there was a dearth of things to do either. She had most of her weeding done, but several other spots of her gardens had gotten… rather messy in the meantime. Like her pond, ugh. Summer’s ending and autumn’s approach had left Fiera with a pond that had not filled with cast-offs from weeding and fallen leaves from the trees around her; which had most likely congealed into gunk. It would take a lot of scooping to get it all out, but at least that was something she had the spare time for right now. “Come on then Sebros, let’s go… assess the damage.” Fiera said with a slight shudder. Hopefully it wouldn’t be as bad as she was imagining. The winged worginu ambled after her down the pathway, following her not out of a command or loyalty, but more because he didn’t have anything better to do.

That wasn’t uncommon with Fiera’s newer pets though. She couldn’t expect instant obedience right off the bat. She was just glad that he wasn’t jerking on the leash, trying whatever he could to run offline certain other creatures she knew. If that happened, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to catch up with him either to restrain him. Worginu were far more muscled than most pets, and could run at a decent pace too. Not to mention the bastards had THUMBS, which meant that they could unlatch gates and remove collars if need be. At least it wouldn’t be too hard to find him again though- his bright green pelt and purple glow made him stand out in most environments, and certainly gave animal control a lot to look out for. (Though she had to admit- animal control was more of a small army in this city.)

And yet, Fiera was sure that they wouldn’t have to be brought in. The most she had to do was tug on her worginu’s leash every so often to coax him into moving on from a plant he found particularly interesting. The humanish couldn’t really blame him for that either. The heat and humidity made the air lush with leafy scents, the smells of green, plump leaves and ripe fruits that were near ready for harvesting. Even she liked taking the occasional stop to sniff a flower, even if she knew it wasn’t what she was supposed to be doing. Their progress was steady however, and soon they were coming up on the duck pond. Fiera had a rake, a net, and a plastic bag with her to deposit the garbage in. Hopefully, that would be all she needed, and the task would be completed quickly.

As the pond came into view however, Fiera realized that they weren’t alone, and Sebros let out a low, soft wood as a form of assent. Fiera was no stranger to finding strange creatures in her garden. There were quite a few species that wandered through, eating what the gardeners didn’t harvest. Feral pachee, lotine, and koguma were all common to see. And yet… she wasn’t used to seeing two of them at once. As she cast her gaze over toward the insect and the serpent near the pond’s edge, Sebros woofed again, noticing something just a bit closer. “Oh, hello.” She said as she noticed a plant hopper. She leaned down and held out a hand, letting it crawl on up to her- pocket pets were pretty docile. Then she looked up and noticed that the other creatures were already looking at her. Had they been paying attention to it as well?

It... it hadn't found more food for them or anything, which was, ultimately, the goal, but it had found a person? The animals narrowed their eyes and the Koguma stepped forward, clicking angrily and motioning to the little plant hopper. This would not do, give their scout back!

The humanish watched with a raised eyebrow as the creatures reacted to her. She hadn’t yet trained a koguma, but she knew enough of their body language just from taming them to know that it wasn’t happy with her. The lotine didn’t seem to care much though- but that was expected. They were comparatively chill creatures. “Oh, is this yours then?” She said, opening her fingers to reveal the plant hopper. It didn’t seem too eager to get back to work, curled up in her palm. “You can have it back if you want… but it seems pretty happy. Maybe you’d be better off joining it, eh?” She said in as calming a voice as possible. She edged closer and closer to the pair, holding the hand with the hopper in it in front of her. She tried not to startle them, though she was hoping that Sebros would stay right where he was to avoid scaring them.

The Lotine shifted from one forepaw to another as it watched what the woman was doing. Darting its eyes from the Koguma to the woman and back, it stepped forward as well and glared. Before it could do anything, however, the Koguma surged forward and clicked angrily at the plant hopper, just a step away from the woman's hand, as though chastising it for running away.

Rustling around in her pocket, Fiera grabbed a baggie of blueberries. She had intended to have these herself later as a snack, but she could use them now. As the koguma yelled at it, the plant hopper rolled over lazily, as if to say “Yeah, I’m good here.” As it did though, Fiera opened the baggie and offered it to the koguma, showing off the nice ripe berries. Perhaps the plant hopper HAD found food… just not how the pair was expecting. Fiera was a person, but she was also a source of tasty snacks. She crouched down a bit, trying not to loom over them. From here, it was all up to them- would they accept her gift? Or would they grab the pocket pet and run? Behind her, Sebros paced nervously, not sure what to make of these new creatures, or whether he should step in and interfere.

The Koguma didn't notice but the Lotine surely did. Quickly pulling itself forward with its forepaws, it whacked the insect upside the head with its whip-like tail as though to try and shock it into noticing. The plant hopper had indeed brought them to food, so they couldn't be too upset. The Koguma looked a little weak now, and bobbed its head. They were alright then, if she was...
[Congratulations, you've tamed the creatures!]

Fiera breathed a sigh of relief as the creatures fell upon the berries, excited. She left the plant hopper where it was, now that they seemed happier to have some food rather than have their friend back. Still, if it worked, it worked. And now she had two extra creatures. Not that she was upset about it. The more the merrier in her kennels, and at least this lotine seemed plenty sensible even if her little koguma friend was a bit fast on the trigger. Now that Fiera was relaxed, Sebros trotted down the hill as well, sniffing at them carefully. The koguma ignored him as they ate, but the lotine narrowed her eyes and leaned away a bit- she likely knew better than to get too involved with the pets of people in the city. Now that they were tamed however, it wasn’t too difficult for Fiera to lead them away from the pond.

Once they had gotten settled in the kennels, Fiera made her way back to the garden, settling Sebros down by the now freshly vacated pond. She scanned the area… she didn’t SEE any other koguma or lotine, but she knew that they had a tendency to pop up. She shrugged. She could deal with them as they popped up. “Okay, let’s get to work.” She said to no one in particular except perhaps to Sebros, who was busy looking at his own reflection in the water. She was hoping for an easy enough job… but unfortunately she already saw a large branch that had been blown into the pond, no doubt by a recent storm. So before she could skim it, she would have to deal with that. She sighed and picked up her rake- maybe she could use it to drag out the branch? She reached it out over the water.

Eyes opened underneath the surface of the water, and the green Lotine broke free, attempting to startle the woman away from its territory. Lotine were very territorial, in fact, and while it appreciated the fact that the other was gone, this woman would need to leave as well.
