The pachee took turns sniffing her fingers offered; they seemed to be really interested in the zucchini offered and were slightly emboldened by this. The one even allowed the shoulder scritch, as both of them started to paw at the veggie. It was soft enough that without too much effort, they broke through to the softer insides. They made happy noises and seem to accept your presence now!
[Congrats, you've tamed the pachee twins!]
The koguma keeps an eye on you, though they see the Pachee are eating unharmed. As long as the attention stays on the pachee... But if the pachee are out of the way...

She was getting close! The pachee were clearly enamored by the zucchini and were now happily 'eating' it... to the degree that pachee were capable of 'eating'. Mostly they were just mashing it up with their little feet and having a good time with it. The koguma on the other hand, still seemed a little wary. Fiera stood up and carefully sidled her way around the pachee, holding her basket of harvests at her side. Then she settled down into the same crouching position between the pachee and the koguma. "See? They're hidden now. Out of sight out of mind, eh?" She said, hoping that that would help calm the bug. Now that the pachee were happily eating too, she rolled another zucchini over to the koguma. "See? There's enough for everyone. You can have as much as you'd like- no one's going to take it away." She said quietly.

The koguma felt like a spotlight was put on it. The pachee distraction was hidden, now it was just the creature and the girl. It was ready to flee... and it did take a few startled steps away when she rolled something to it. It stopped, realizing it wasn't being chased. It inched over to see what was on the ground - food! It snatched it up in one hand, then looked around for more.... and saw the basket. It took a tentative step forward.

Fiera chuckled at the koguma. It had seemed spooked for a moment, but all it seemed to want was food... and being given of it was enough to erase its fear. It now had two food items to its name- a pear and a zucchini- and seemed gunning for more. "Oh, you want this?" Fiera said, lifting the basket up. She watched as its eyes followed her- this was no unintelligent bug, but instead it was clearly observing her every move. She sat down on the ground, crossed her legs, and put the basket in front of her. Surely it wouldn't take all of her harvest- but it could certainly collect a few more goodies. And yet, it would have to trust her enough to come closer to do so. "Go on, then!" She said, gesturing to it slightly. "It's all yours if you come here." And then she just sat peacefully, waiting for the creature to make its move and trying her best not to stare.

The insect watched, pausing in its movements when she moved... but she was just sitting. Making herself smaller. It felt bigger, like it could handle itself if something happened. It crept closer, peering into the basket. So many foods. It made a soft chatters noise, and looked at the girl. The girl was nice. The girl would share, yes? It seemed like it was warming up to her.... maybe it wouldn't have to hunt for food anymore. [Congrats, you've tamed the Koguma!] What a pretty flower! ...And some fungus!

Finally, the koguma came close to Fiera and took the zucchini from her. She breathed a sigh of relief. First of all, she managed to get rid of some of that zucchini she was never going to eat ever. And second of all, she had finally managed to calm and tame all of the creatures that had just stumbled upon her. It had taken ages, but they all seemed calmed and well fed now. With that done, she happily packed things up and swept them away to their kennels. It was a bit of a rambunctious process but soon enough she was back in her gardens once more, gazing at the mess they had made. She clucked her tongue. Well, no time like the present to clean it up. Sasha settled back down next to her pumpkin, chewing on it happily while Fiera picked up the bits of half chewed vegetable and tossed them in a trash bag.

A different sound picked up just beyond the sights of zucchini; a quick clack, and another, and another- The sounds of a beak, smacking, taking bites and chunks out of unguarded vegetables with deft movements. Who knew a large beak could be so quick and decisive, snapping up bits and pieces of vegetation? The evidence of the Gallors massacre was evident, with strings of squash swaying from its beak, and what look like tomato seeds stuck in a wet smear along the beaks edges... what a mess!

It wasn't long before Fiera kept hearing even MORE odd noises, however. She tried to ignore it, hoping she wouldn't be dragged into another snit fit between the native creatures of this area, but soon her curiosity got the best of her and she couldn't help but look up. And when she did, she was met with a sight that spooked her quite well. Eyes so pale they almost glowed peered at her from the bushes, surrounded by thick black fur that had kept the creature camouflaged in the gloom. She took a step back, eyeing the gore dripping from its beak... only to realize that it wasn't gore at all. Instead, the red juices were likely from the berries adorning the bushes around it, and the sinewy strings were likely from some of the savaged pumpkins that Fiera kept finding around. Despite its ominous appearance, this creature was likely a herbivore.

Fiera approached it cautiously- perhaps it was a friendly creature? Sure enough though, its hostility only applied to plant matter. It hardly seemed to notice as Fiera walked up to it, and when she hesitantly placed a hand on its shoulder it leaned into the touch, letting the humanish scritch her way up its neck and behind its head. It chirruped softly as she stroked it with her long nails, half chirp and half purr. "Huh. Guess you're nicer than I thought." She glanced back at Sasha- it wasn't stopping her from cowering under the wheelbarrow from it, though. She supposed it looked enough like a predator to her for her to not want to take that chance. "...Perhaps we should get you out of here and to my kennel though, eh?" She said, laughing nervously. She didn't want this to be a scary trip for her little fossil, after all.

With a bit of clever maneuvering with a vegetable, Fiera was able to successfully lead the strange gallor back to her kennels, sitting it down next to the others she owned. Sasha seemed to relax the moment it was gone, even though it had done nothing but look at her curiously the whole time. By the time they managed to get back to the gardens, Sasha seemed to have calmed down completely. She slumped up against the wheelbarrow again, basking in the weak October sun. Fiera left her to it and began cleaning up the vegetable scraps again. Even if her vegetable patch had been torn up a bit, she might be able to compost these anyway and make some use of them when it came time to plant more seeds next spring. Waste not, want not. With the pieces being so light though, it didn't take her long to clean them up.

When she was all done she stepped back for a moment to take in her work. The garden was looking much better already, though there were still some things she had to harvest. Those zucchinis were nowhere near done, for one. She sighed and picked up the basket again. Those infinite zukes were going to be the death of her, she swore. She settled in again at the base of the vines and began plucking them off again, giving each one a swift twist at the base before plopping it into her basket. Every so often when she heard Sasha start snuffling around again, she'd turn around and toss one of the small, unsellable ones to her fossil before turning back to her work. That kept her entertained- both in playing with the zucchini and in eating it, as the crunching noises from behind Fiera informed her. Whatever worked for Sasha worked for Fiera, though!

Working on harvesting those zucchini’s was tough work… on her back, at least, she thought with a frown. Perhaps the funds she got in turn would be worth the effort, but it didn’t seem like it so far. Still, she was finding herself filling basket after basket, carrying the results to the wheelbarrow. She kept checking in on Sasha of course, but less and less as time went on. The fossil seemed happy and safe however. After half an hour she had finished her pumpkin and splayed herself out in the autumn light, basking in the weakening rays. She seemed quite happy, fat and full. Fiera smirked. Wished it was her. If her pet was happy and not underfoot however, Fiera figured there were worse things that could happen. It let her get down to brass tacks and finish going through the zucchini vines at least, that was for sure.

After several minutes, the harvest was complete. She had managed to wrestle every last one of those zucchini into the wheelbarrow, and somehow had room to spare. She’d have to think about calming it down on the zucchini seeds next year, however. She wasn’t sure how she was going to SELL all of these… though she supposed there were far worse things than having too much food at the end of a harvest. Those who had died in famines would no doubt be jealous. As she stood up however, she realized that she hadn’t heard from Sasha in a while. Fiera glanced around- the didn’t see the stomper nudging her way through the remnants of the pumpkin harvest. Nor was she snacking on the zucchini vines. Nor did she seem to be… anywhere else. “…Sasha…?” The humanish called hesitantly, looking under her wheelbarrow, praying that she would be there.

She wasn’t there. Where the baby stomper had been sleeping just a few short minutes ago, she was now nowhere to be seen. But it wasn’t just a few short minutes, was it? Fiera knew full well that it was easy to lose track of time while working on one’s garden. It could have easily been half an hour since she checked on Sasha last. And she wasn’t exactly an obtrusive creature either. She only ever made cute snuffles and squeaky honks when she was excited, and she wasn’t large or heavy enough to make the bushes rustle significantly when passing through them. She could have easily gotten up and silently left whenever she wanted, and Fiera was none the wiser. She pressed the heels of her palms against her forehead. Stupid! Now she had to go look for her, and hope she hadn’t managed to drown herself in a freezing pond yet.
