Renathan had already been here today, to get Brigit bred by a really nice custom izer, but he knew that Princess was already about ready to produce a berry. Renathan had done this once a month for a long time now, and hoped that she would be okay to continue doing that and all. She seemed to be pretty fine, but the trips were starting to take their toll from what Renathan could tell. She hated the trips, and had actually spent a long time trying to hide to have her berry in peace out at the gardens. Renathan kinda didn't blame her, and felt bad for continuing to push her. She had produced a lovely lola this last month, and Renathan was considering getting that lola grown into a lotine and using that instead. However, Renathan wanted to see if Princess would be willing to make the trip today anyway, to really cement the need for it.

Renathan did feel a little bad about how he typically got Princess to the breeding center. He did understand why it was needed, but he wished that there was a better way of doing it. Of course, using a courier service may not be such a good idea either since lotine really didn't seem to like being out of water too much. It made perfect sense, Renathan figured, to actually find one that specialized in transporting water-based creatures. Were those even a thing? Renathan didn't have many, if any, completely water-bound critters and didn't plan on getting more unless something came up un-expectantly. "Alright Princess, we've got a while to go sweetie." Renathan said, voice for once syrupy-sweet. Princess was only a little distressed, and they were only a quarter way there. Renathan just crossed his fingers and hoped for the best, holding the magical fish that she liked so much.

Renathan continued to do the usual thing that he did every time he did this, he would wave a magical fish around, wait for her to walrus-scoot as far as she was willing to go without actually getting the fish, and then he would toss her the fish, back up a bit more, and grab another fish. Yeah, Renathan was going to have to find a better way to do this in the future. For one it took too long, and for two it made her super anxious the colder it was. It was the cold part of the year, and he knew that the concrete was going to be super cold on her underbelly and it would probably cause a bit worse bruising or cuts from the rocks that were sometimes on the concrete from the road, so he was taking her almost entirely over the grass the entire way.

Renathan was starting to understand the lotine a little bit better now, since they've done this several times by this point, and he did note that she was feeling a lot better about being guided along the grass as opposed to the sidewalk. She didn't seem as tense as she could be, though heck was she very tense. Renathan couldn't help but feel a little bad about it anyway. He decided for sure at that point that he was going to change the way he did this next time he did this. "Aww, good girl Princess. Doing a good job." Renathan cooed at her, holding the magical fish out to her. She stopped for a moment, and then she tossed a magical fish to her. Well, this was going to take a bit, it would seem. She was moving forward quite a bit more slowly than usual today, and Renathan just hoped that they would get there.

Despite Renathan's attempt to keep his voice sweet and try to keep the lotine's attention to him, she got a little bit distracted by something nearby, a little patch of weird grass that Renathan realized was actually clovers, but of course they didn't have the usual flowers because it was winter out. The grass was brown and crunchy and gross, and Renathan wished that he didn't have to drag Princess all the way across it. Still, brown and crunchy grass was much better than the concrete sidewalk with it's rocks and stuff. Renathan was still pretty sure that the grass could have rocks in it, and they would be more difficult to find, but so far Princess seemed less fatigued about the trip going across the grass and all. Renathan waved the fish around to try to get her attention again, and it took a lot of waving and calling for her to pay attention.

They were about halfway through now, and it would be much better to just keep trucking and power though than actually turn back and go home. Regardless, she was on her own travelling, Renathan didn't really have anything else on hand right now but what they were doing, and boy she was getting close to time to produce a berry. Renathan didn't want her to produce one in thin air and for them both to lose the lola. So far she'd gotten to spend time with each of her lola, and that was good for her morale Renathan thought so far. He did plan to retire her, hopefully before next month's production time. It was obvious that she was getting quite tired. "Come on Princess, come on lady..." Renathan said, trying to coax her to move on. It took her a minute to break from the little clover patch.

Renathan cannot help but think about how neat it has been working with lolas had been. This certainly wasn't a waste of time or anything, even though Renathan was sure that he was one of the only folks actively breeding lotine recently. He wasn't sure if in the future he'd get around to training them. It would probably be an important thing at some point, but there were so many different creatures that Renathan really needed to be able to train before getting to the lotine group he would probably have at that time period, knowing him. Renathan sighed, and got back on track with the lotine, scooting back and feeding fish, then scooting back and feeding fish, as he went on the way to the breeding center. They were really close by the time Renathan stopped being completely spaced out. Just the last block to go. Hopefully they could make it without any issues.

The last block was always the easiest one, but for some reason Renathan always payed more attention to it than anything else whenever they were making one of their many regular trips to the breeding center. He was pretty exhausted today, but knew that this wouldn't take very long once they got there. It never did, he had a knack for getting Princess here during a certain timeframe, but he wasn't sure if he was just good at telling when she was going to produce, or if she was simply producing quicker because she was anxious. Renathan had no idea. However, he was beginning to get suspicious of it being towards the latter of the two, since she seemed to get less and less interested in getting out here. "Alrighty Princess, really soon we'll be there." He said, keeping his voice calm and cooing at her to hopefully keep her calm.

So far, so good, with very few setbacks. Renathan managed to get the lotine into the front lot of the breeding center, but there was a few more agonizing feet of concrete that they just had to go across without any choice, so Renathan had to fight with her a bit to get her to get onto the concrete, and then scoot across it. Thankfully, Princess liked him quite a bit and came over to him after a bit of an 'argument' wherein Renathan had to bribe her with two fish at once instead of just one, which he was pretty lucky that Princess finally gave in. He finally got to the door, opened it up, and then tossed the two fish inside of the building, just in front of the door to get her to actually enter the building. He'd done this every single time up to this point and wasn't about to stop this last time.

That still didn't keep most of the folks in the breeding center from wrinkling their noses at Renathan for tossing the fish, even though it was close to the front of the door in the lobby, though Princess barreled in after the fish, eating them and then even licking the floor clean of fish afterward. The door was closed as Renathan stepped in after her and he thought- good, we've got this done finally. He adjusted his mask a bit and then got the lotine in the back room that the attendant led them to rather easily using the fish. She seemed to like the indoor floor much more than the terrain outside. They entered the room and Renathan sat down. Now it was just a waiting game until she produced her berry. It took a little longer than Renathan expected, and then her bloom began to close. Ah, only a matter of time now...
