Fanged hadn’t been to the quest board in a bit. It had been low on her priority list, but she had an urge now to see what jobs were available. She decided to take Iris with her. She had obtained the Felusine while on a quest after all. It seemed only fitting for her to be taken along. The baby pet was too young to walk very quickly, so Fanged had elected to carry her. “Alright let’s see what we have here. I can’t take anything too dangerous, considering I have you with me,” she told Iris. She scanned the board, keeping an eye out for anything that seemed manageable. She landed on a job that seemed simple enough. One that certainly didn’t suggest any danger at the very least. Fanged didn’t have much gardening experience, but this seemed like a good way to get some. The owner of a parasol shop required assistance with a garden. (Iris 1 1/5, 1 1/5)

The thought of gardening had always been appealing to her. Apparently, the owner’s garden had been ruined with the rainy weather that they had endured. She knew the layout of the city well enough that she should be able to navigate over towards the shop with little difficulty. She gave the Felusine in her arms a few comforting strokes as they walked.
“I haven’t truly gardened before. What happens if I hate it?” Though Iris could not give her an answer, talking aloud always made Fanged feel better.
It took her a while to walk over to the shop. She’d had to stop and orientate herself a few times. She wasn’t as familiar with this area as she ought to have been. Iris squirmed in her arms as they approached the shop, demanding to be placed on the ground. Fanged did a quick check for danger before complying with her wishes.

She didn’t have any tools of her own, so she was thankful when she saw that the owner had provided her with some to pick from. She tentatively picked through the items, choosing the ones that instinct told her to. She ended up with a spade and something that appeared as though it was meant to remove weeds.
“I guess now is the time to try and figure out how this whole thing works.”
Iris was not nearly as concerned with things as she was. The Felusine was happily exploring the area, not minding if she got muddy in the process. Fanged smiled fondly at her, glad that Iris seemed to be getting along okay. The woman moved closer to the garden her eyes narrowed as she tried to deduce how to fix things up. Rainwater had washed away a good section of the garden, suggesting that it hadn’t been a very sturdy garden.

The first thing she would start with would be to reinforce the garden. That way, future flooding should only leave a minimal impact on the area. After all, she didn’t want to put in a large amount of effort into the garden only for everything to wash away in the next flooding. In order to achieve this, she figured she ought to collect some sturdy rocks to keep things stabilized. She glanced around the area, mentally mapping out which rocks she would need to grab. She started with the closest one, lifting it up and keeping a close eye on Iris when she set it back down. The Felusine was luckily rolling in a patch of clovers, remaining a fair distance away from her. She studied the rock that she had placed, judging its spacing. When she was satisfied, she stood back up and went to grab another. It wasn’t her garden, so she didn’t need to be all that picky.

She continued carrying rocks over until the entire patch of soil was surrounded in them. To her surprise, her design choice actually looked decent enough. Iris scrambled over, curious to see what Fanged had been up to.
“Let’s see if you’re whirlwind of childish destruction will destroy my hard work. If it does, then I’ll be rather disappointed in myself,” she joked.
Iris blinked up at her with bright eyes. It didn’t take her long to switch her attention to the surrounding rocks. Immediately, she tried to climb the nearest one. It took her a few tried, but she managed to make it to the top. Fanged watched carefully, ready to catch Iris if she accidentally slipped. Surprisingly, the rock and the Felusine remained steady.
“It appears my work is adequate after all. I suppose it’s time to fix up the rest of the garden.”
She didn’t quite know how to work with plants, but she would give it her best shot.
