Since the site is a lot smaller and slower now, I think it's time we think about changing how the shops stock.
As it is, items restock at the beginning of the month, but only sometimes, and in limited amounts. I think that instead, we should consider letting each user purchase a limited number of items (or pets, for shops that sell pets) per month, instead.
So for example, you can buy 3 of each item that is meant to be 'common' per month, 1 of each item that's meant to be 'rare' and maybe one every other month for items meant to be VERY rare. (Items that are limited to one per customer like the growth potions can stay one per customer ever.) These numbers can be adjusted by staff however they feel is appropriate, that's just a quick example I came up with. Things that are meant to be really common can just be unlimited, I don't see a need to put a limit on things that are meant to be bought in bulk like say the breedable berries.
If, for some reason, staff wants to limit the number of an item/pet that goes out (like say the Time Rakai or Chelcauda Fossil), it can have limited stock, but I expect this to be an exception rather than the rule. (Curious Collections won't change, either, since the way it works is different to regular shops.)
Items like injections are really useful/powerful and they're unlimited! Why not items like ribbons of telepathy, regrowth potions, or... anything else!
Benefits:
- Users will not need to buy bulk lots of things like anti-growth potions that they don't currently need because they're afraid they'll run out by the time they need them.
- Users with busy life schedules will be able to pick up rare items at their leisure instead of stalking the shops for a restock on the first.
- Users will be able to work on their plots at their own pace (say with items like anti-growths, or collars of speech).
- Staff will not have to worry about restocking the shops every month, which I personally know is kind of a pain to keep track of!
