Finally, Fiera and Victor skittered into the clearing, to find... nothing. A dead end, as far as she could tell. There weren't even any other hedge tunnels leading out. Fiera groaned, realizing that she probably misheard the bellow, and the nyssa was likely somewhere else. They'd have to backtrack. That is, she thought that until the hedges in front of her began shaking. They trembled as if terrified of what was coming, and Fiera couldn't blame them. The snout of the nyssa came first, dozens of feet up in the air. Victor leaned down and growled, long and low, but Fiera could tell from his raised hackles and pressed back ears that it was mostly a show, feeling fear instead of bravery. The head of the nyssa came next, the size of a large car, with jaws that could easily snap one in half. Fiera took a step back, dragging Victor to the side.

Slowly but surely, the rest of the nyssa came through. Despite the clearing being dozens of feet across, only the front half of the beast actually fit. The rest was still in the hedges, which despite being impenetrable to Fiera and Victor, were being passed through as effortlessly as water by the nyssa. Now that it was here though, Fiera saw her change. "Victor, double up!" She commanded. He looked at her for a moment, then closed his eyes as if focusing. A shimmering appeared in front of him, like how the air quivered when it was hot out. A mirage-like image of Victor appeared and finally solidified, only looking slightly wavier than the pet himself. "Good boy! Okay, come on!" Fiera said, sprinting in front of the nyssa. Realizing that this was probably a stupid idea, Fiera picked up the biggest rock she could find and lobbed it at the beast.

The stone just barely pinged off of the side of the nyssa's jaw, falling to the ground uselessly. Frankly, Fiera was amazed that she even managed to get it up that far. And yet... it certainly got the creature's attention. A rumbling growl shook the clearing as it turned to look at Fiera and her rakai sarane. Victor's own growl faded away into a quiet yelp as it began to lean down toward them. "...Time to go!" Fiera exclaimed. She turned heel, kicking up mulch and took off down the hedge-lined path again. "Come on, Victor!" She called back, and the arcane rakai sarane didn't need to be told twice. Both copies of him ran after Fiera, quickly outpacing her. Thankfully they both seemed to be faster than the nyssa (for now, at least), who could only slowly plod after them, still letting out that ominous growl from its throat.

The further they ran though, the more the nyssa's momentum caught up. Fiera yelped as it drove its massive head downward, dodging out of the way just in time. It rose up with a massive chunk of earth in its mouth which ran out between its teeth in streams. Fiera glanced behind her and saw the giant crater it left in the ground behind her. "Okay, that's... I'll try not to think about that." She said to herself, deciding to keep her eyes forward from now on. The nyssa tried to lunge at Victor as well, only for his copy to run in front of it at the last second, distracting it. The colossal nyssa snapped at both of them, but considering they were two halves of the same whole it couldn't catch them as they bobbed and weaved out of its way. Still, the pathway got a few more holes for its troubles.

Between Fiera and Victor's agility and speed, they were getting pretty close to the clearing with the other nyssa in it. "We're in the home stretch, Victor!" Fiera panted, gesturing vaguely at the clearing ahead of them. "One last push!" She said, and put on another burst of speed even though her heart was fit to explode by this point. The second she cleared the threshold between the path and the clearing she dove to the side, hiding behind the hedges and out of the nyssa's line of sight. Victor followed her, diving under her arm and allowing his copy to shimmer into nothing, just as the nyssa lunged at it one more time. But their plan had worked- the giant nyssa was now in the clearing with the rest of its grove and could see that they were safe and sound. Fiera didn't breathe a sigh of relief quite yet though.

Now that Fiera and Victor were safely out of sight, having shoved themselves into the nearest hedge, the nyssa redirected its attention to its fellows. The anger seemed to drain from its branches, and it hesitantly nudged the nearest nyssa with its snout. Slowly but surely, the eyes of its grove-mate opened and the creature yawned widely, blinking the sleepiness from its eyes. Once one of them woke up, the movement from it standing up caused a ripple effect, and the rest of the nyssa began waking up as well. After about ten minutes (so probably quite quickly from their perspective), the whole walking forest was awake, making the clearing look like a copse of trees from a distance. Fiera didn't dare go out there yet though- she doubted that that mother of all nyssa would forget her lobbing a rock at it THAT quickly, despite how slow it was.

From the safety of the bushes, Fiera watched as all of the nyssa got up and began to move. One after the other they crashed through the hedges, pushing them aside effortlessly. The monstrously sized nyssa was the last to leave, casting one last glance over its shoulder... before it followed the rest, exiting the old woman's garden peacefully. Fiera flopped out of the bushes, collapsing in a heap. "FINALLY. That took FOREVER. I don't think I've run that much since the battle of Asdel." Victor followed as well, but simply looked at her as if waiting for her to stand up. Fiera huffed and did so, brushing herself off even though she was covered in far too much dirt for that to be effective. "Ah well, at least we did it. How about we go find that old woman, eh Victor? Let's make like a tree and leaf!" She said, winking at him. The rakai simply snorted and began walking toward the entrance of the gardens. "What?" Fiera said, following him. "That one was good!"
