Going down to the Herbologist's Delight instead of down to grab her construction materials had been a poor idea in hindsight, but she couldn't help it - she had absolutely loved the idea of bringing more residents in and learning more about a variety of garden-dwelling species. With her love of botany and fondness of being out here in her yard, of course she was going to want to discover how these seasonal species worked, their forms changing with each season in the year. It seemed that once winter came, she might be able to get a healing berry from that king of evergreen....
She'd recently become interested in magic, and from what she had read, that berry would be a very important part of the ritual to create a node. Of course she had brought that creature home - and she was going to take some time to learn more about him and bond with him as winter approached.

Maybe there would be more nails hiding in her shed? That would save Sevyrn from at least one part of the trip she needed to make, though she doubted that she would find any more in there. She did see a cluster of mushrooms sprouting near the edge of the shed, and nearly ignored them until she noticed that there seemed to be something nestled between the clusters... What was that? The woman crouched down to reach between the fungi, and pulled out a rather strange jar. What even was this, and how did it get there? The label on the jar read 'lomites' but Sevyrn had absolutely no clue what those were, so that didn't help any... and she hadn't read anything about those in the books that she had. Maybe she needed to head down to the library?
The strange little creature seemed to think something was interesting too, as it scuttled towards the woman leaf-first.

Dear fuck... that thing was going to take some getting used to - Sevyrn truly had no idea what to think of the skutirut. It was quite the oddball, but she could be an oddball at times too so it was more than welcome to be part of her growing eclectic pack of garden residents. She swore that it was some kind of living plant, and the books seemed to agree with that conclusion. From what she understood it wouldn't need much care more than not hurting it and allowing it rich soil to root in - it would probably love the empty veggie garden that was sitting until spring - she'd laid a fresh layer of compost over it to let sit until it was time to plant, hopefully leaving her with a rich soil to grow bountifully in come the new year.
Al seemed to be loving having some new plant creatures around - she was part bellafaux, after all.

Huh - it seemed that she had found another if those strange little root things - that put her up to five now! One more and she would be able to bring them down to the pachee pollen project and get herself a new, albeit probably rather strange, male pachee. As much as Sevyrn had done very little work with pachee, she had traded one a while back for her strange bug thing and he had a son - and Button now had a daughter living here, who he often made nice with. They were a fun species that Sevyrn wished she had gotten in to long before she had.
The strange little plant... thing... seemed to be interested in what she found as well. What did this thing even like, anyways? Sevyrn crouched in front of it and reached out, but the skutirut skittered off the second that she touched it. Okay then...

Oh look - grapes. Sevyrn swore thst she saw a couple bunches hanging ripe from a vine at the back of her yard - those were going to make an amazing snack for later on! Grapes were an amazing benefit to fall, and Sevyrn was thrilled to be able to take some inside. She was able to pull off one ripe bunch and then a second, but the next closest set had already gone over-ripe... they were soft and squishy, not her thing at all - they would make an excellent addition to the compost pile, though.
Nothing was waste - if she wouldn't eat it, she could offer it to her pets, or its nutrients could be saved to create a better crop next year. Hell - the skutirut would probably love the grapes once they had decomposed and their juices drained in to the soil a little bit. She was doing good by her creatures.

Okay, okay... Sevyrn really needed to go down to the store and pick up what she needed to build the greenhouse, or at least the frame of it. She just really did not want to go out on another adventure, especially now that she had six new creatures to observe and get to know. Despite having no eyes or ears or face at all, the skutirut seemed to be able to avoid running in to things... could it feel the ground? Sevyrn had no idea how that strange little plant creature worked, but it always seemed to know where she would be.
As she sat back down at the picnic table with a handful of the grapes that she had found, the mussimander scurried over to her - Sevyrn willingly handed the little thing one of the grapes and he seemed to absolutely adore the sudden little snack. Immediately after seeing that exchange, Al was over wanting one as well.

At that point Sevyrn decided that there was no time like the present to get things going... procrastinating would just make her life difficult in the future, especially if she managed to put the task long enough that she wouldn't end up having the time needed to get everything set up before winter came.
Luckily she had a cart, so a trip to the store wasn't so bad when she could just lug the supplies that she had needed back in that instead of having to carry it all. Once she had gotten back home she pulled the cart back in to her yard, and started to unload the lumber by leaning it against the side of her shed wall. She would need to cut it down to size and finalize the plans for the frame before anything would get put in place, but there! She had one of the hard parts done and over with.

The commotion was making everyone in the garden go crazy - what was going on? There was so much work being done that no one seemed to be able to make sense of it. After Sevyrn finished unloading all of her supplies she then parked her cart back out front and settled down. It had been a little bit of a work out do Sevyrn was in need of a little bit of a break.
The skutirut was one of the ones most put off by all the craziness that had just gone on. Sevyrn just watched the strange little thing as it scuttled around back and forth, towards the lumber pile and then away from it. What an interesting little thing - hopefully it would calm down in a little while, though what would the point be given that Sevyrn was hoping to get started on building the frame of the greenhouse tonight.

Hmm... Sevyrn came across another of those strange root things - it seemed that she finally had enough of a collection to bring the strange plants down to the pachee pollen project! She probably should finish up what she was doing here first - more like get the project started - but excitement it her! Sevyrn plucked the strange little root up off of the ground and then made her way over to her shed. Once inside all of her finds were conveniently located just for moments like this - she scooped up the other five strange roots, shoved them in her pockets, and closed the shed door behind her.
It was time for an adventure! Sevyrn said goodbye to the residents of her garden, promising that she would be back soon, and then waltzed towards the gate out of the yard. From there she was on an adventure, and would be back soon.

She came back after being told there would be a waiting period - the scientists needed to figure out a way to convert the pollen or DNA from those strange little roots in to a pachee, after all. Sevyrn was happy to wait as long as she needed, she wasn't about to rush the scientists in charge of creating new life, especially when that new life was for her.
Button and Al were standing by the gate the moment that she came in to sight, and Sevyrn was greeted back by two very happy and friendly faces. She crouched down to give them both a pat, and she could see the skutirut shambling around in the near distance. Did it know that she was home now, too? Once it got close enough Sevyrn dared to reach her hand out towards it, and the plant creature recoiled as Sevyrn's fingertips grazed it.

After greetings were done and over with, Sevyrn did another check of her garden to see if there was anything more around for her to check out. It seemed that there were more ripe grapes waiting for her! These ones were attached to another vine and they were green rather than purple which was, quite frankly, even better - Sevyrn absolutely adored green grapes. More fungi... fungi all over - the mussimander had taken to it all like it was the best thing in the world. It seemed that fall was an awesome time for her to bring such a cutie home, just in time for nature to take over and turn her garden in to exactly what he would feel most at home in.
All right... now she really needed to get to work. She'd already lugged all the lumber back from the store, already had the plans drawn up... Procrastination would not be here friend.

With a heavy sigh Sevyrn made her way over to her shed and started cutting the lumber down to length as needed - first thing first she needed to get the bottom frame of the greenhouse ready, and then she could work on the side supports. The task took up most of the afternoon, but by the time the sun set Sevyrn had a very basic outline of the future greenhouse set up. It would need more supports lest it would fall down once the snow started to fall, but she still had more time.
After an afternoon of hard work, Sevyrn was happy to spend the last little bit of the day tending to her creatures and the few fall plants that still bore life within the walls of her garden. She couldn't help but notice the skutirut, who had been showing her a strange amount of attention this whole time.

"You're an interesting little thing, aren't you?" Sevyrn asked as she crouched down in front of it, watching it as it blinbly scuttled around. Obviously it wasn't about to answer her in any way, but a subtle waft of sweet scent hit her - she had heard that these things could kind of talk that way? Using smells? Was that the skutirut's way of telling her that it liked being here? It was hard interesting with something that didn't even have a face to read.
The thing scuttled off, heading towards the other side of the garden, and Sevyrn ambled back over towards the picnic table. It had been a long day and tomorrow would likely be another of the same variety - so much work to be done, especially now that she was no longer focused on keeping an almost insane amount of plants alive long enough to grow ripe. Time to get everything ready for winter!
