Another day, another visit to this facility - and not for rearing pachee! This time, a dragon-oak. Tuuli was a specialty he'd acquired from the Sanctuary. A beautiful specimen of light blue hues like the sky. Xentus thought her a wonderful addition to his garden to protect the other flora alongside the other dragon. But, upon learning these creatures were also welcome for rearing at the facility, the leopard was enamored by the idea of young little dragonlings about the garden. To make matters more interesting, his partner was the famous Jack! He'd met Jack once before by happenstance for a short time in the mines, much before he came to learn that she was famous in this city. It seemed most people around here knew her. A smile curled the mammalian's lip as he gave the sky colored dragon-oak a pet on the head. He was looking forward to this venture. The duo waited just outside the breeding center, Tuuli happily soaking in the gently autumn sunlight with her broad leaves.

She hadn't seen this guy in, what, almost a year now it seemed? Jack shook her head a little with a smile on her face. She still remembered his interesting way of speaking, and wondered if that was still the case or if he had become a little more like the rest of the Labs. She hoped not, people needed their quirks, and she enjoyed listening to him talk about himself the way he did. Her hand was on Zech's shoulder as they walked together toward the Breeding Center. His last breeding had produced a Greater as well, and she was excited to see what he might produce this time. Rumor had it they were meeting one of those other-winged Dragon Oaks at the Center, and she was excited to see if that was going to pass down again. There was a chance it wouldn't, of course, but... Oh well. They reached the Breeding Center and the woman spotted the mammalian, and, smiling, she waved, "Hi Xentus!"

It wasn't too long a wait before the sound of a vaguely familiar voice drew his attention. Xentus turned away from Tuuli to greet Jack in return, but his words were stuck for a moment upon seeing the giant she'd brought along. Now, he'd thought she was bringing a great dragon oak, as in a good specimen, one of great quality. But that beast! That wasn't simply a great dragon, it was a grand dragon. Xentus couldn't help but to stare at her accompanying creature for what felt like a moment too long. It was fascinating to see; he'd no idea these creatures could grow so large! Were they the same species, even? Or just an older dragon? Curiosity swelled within, but he did his best to temper the urge to question away for a more opportune time.
"Greetings, Miss Jack", the man chimed, "Xentus is pleased to be meeting you again." His greeting was accompanied with a bow and a warm smile. "How have you fared since the last we've met?"

She had gotten quite a few looks, some surprised, some a little envious, when they had walked down the street toward the Breeding Center, but Jack was a little used to being able to ignore the looks of others at this point. Unfortunately for her, she was fairly well known around the Labs, she had her hands in everything it would seem, and she liked to at least be there out of curiosity than anything else. However, Greater Dragon Oaks were a little more rare, since they were from the war that had happened before she had come to the Labs, and so lots of people seemed to want them, but she had no problem meeting up for a breeding with him sometimes. Have to get those genes out somehow! She was intrigued by the one he had brought though, while she had one with wings like that, hers was green, not blue. Her own eyes lit up and she had to restrain herself from asking many questions as well.
"Pleasure to see you again too! I'm glad we have a chance to meet up again," Jack said with a happy, genuine look as she kept a hand on Zech. The Greater was sniffing at the smaller one, and she chuckled a little, "I've been well, how about you?"

Little Tuuli couldn't help but to be intimidated by the much, much larger dragon. Its head alone was nearly as big as she was! Her bright blue eyes looked them up and down, almost at a loss at what to do as the giant's snout prodded forth to sniff at her. But being a defender of gardens, the least she could do it try to stand her ground. Her board leaf wings fanned out in a feeble attempt to seem at least a little larger. Were they friend? Foe? Or just curious? She wasn't sure what to think of them.
Xentus, meanwhile, couldn't help but to glance over at the grand dragon for a moment as it made its greeting to little Tuuli, then turned his attention back to Jack. "This one has been fairly good, if only kept busy. There is no end to the ventures about this city", he admitted with a chuckle, "Ah, by the way, the small one is named Tuuli. He hopes these two will get along well enough."

Zech leaned down a little further and sniffed at the little Dragon Oak for a moment before snorting, a small ribbon of fire exiting his mouth as he exhaled. It was pointed toward the sky at least, which was a good thing, she didn't want him hurting the little Fluttering Dragon Oak or anything. He was mainly a gentle giant, a bit cliche maybe, but that's who he was.
"Yeah, there's always something to do," Jack winced, thinking of all the things she should be doing aside from breeding Dragon Oaks. But, here she was, doing a breeding, stalling probably. The woman chuckled at herself a little and then motioned toward the door of the Breeding Center, "Shall we enter? We'll probably need an outside corral unfortunately, Zech here is a little too big for those rooms." Hey at least she had mentioned his name, she figured, "Zech here gets along with pretty much everyone, but sometimes forgets his strength so he usually has the wherewithall to hang back a little."

Undoubtedly, Jack was a busy woman. That subtle wince told him enough. Ah, considering that, he did feel a slight pressure to ensure this dragon breeding venture turned to be worth her time. Even if he hardly had much that would contribute to it, aside from Tuuli and some pleasant chatter.
"Xentus does not mind, the sunlight should do the dragons some good anyway", the leopard said with a nod as he headed inside with Tuuli trailing behind on her leash. The crisp autumn air was nice and mild, lending well to the warmth of the afternoon sun. A stark contrast to the cool, sterile lobby of the breeding center. This front room always seems so stately in comparison to the rooms just down the hall. "Zech is an impressive beast there, by the way. Never seen a dragon oak so large before. It is good to know he is well tempered", Xentus couldn't help but to mention.

"This is true!" the woman said, happily following Xentus and his Dragon Oak into the Breeding Center as Zech peered in through the window of the door. She chuckled a little and waved at him, maybe the attendant would find it odd she didn't have something immediately with her, but that was alright she figured, they would deal with it.
"Yeah he's pretty calm, just don't get him angry or anything, he can be a force to be reckoned with if you disturb the garden," she added with a solemn nod. She wasn't sure what her goal for this breeding was, she wasn't sure what Xentus' goal was either, but that was fine, this would be fun and she was happy to see him again. Sure, she was a busy person, but that didn't mean she didn't have time to calm down and sit awhile. "Sorry if I seem preoccupied, there's a lot of stuff to do and never enough time," Jack chuckled a little, "But that doesn't mean I'm not committed to this."

"Duly noted", Xentus replied, giving another glance at the large dragon through the window. Any research he wanted to conduct would be best done from an.. Observational distance. His study was often done more to satisfy any of his own curiosity than anything. Plant-animals in particular were beings he found to be quite fascinating, from pachee to lotine. They were so similar, yet different than many of his other animals. There was much to learn about such beasts.
"This one thanks Miss Jack for her time in any case", the leopard chimed graciously, "Xentus believes your experience vast and honestly hopes to learn from this venture, should you be willing to teach." He flashed a kind grin, then led off to get Tuuli registered. The small dragon-oak was a little uncertain about this strange new place. It was nothing like the garden.. Her blue eyes looked around the lobby nervously and she stuck close to the leopard's side as he began talking with the clerk.

Jack could only chuckle, she wasn't really anything all that special, or at least she didn't think so, she just kind of did what she did. If anyone thought she was good at what she did, well, good for them! She thought she was okay at things, but it surprised her whenever someone told her otherwise, or at least hinted at it. Smiling a little, the woman tilted her head a bit, "What do you want to know and I'll see if I can help?" The offer was always there, of course, but Xentus probably didn't know it at this point. They'd only seen each other once before, and she knew that things were going to be interesting no matter what.
Zech was outside staring at the pretty little Dragon Oak inside of the building, and the woman turned and waved at him as she filled out her own paperwork, handing it over to the attendant with a smile.

The registration was a quick process; fill out and sign off on some paperwork, affirm the creature in question is healthy, and wait for an available room. The garden-esque corrals were often vacant, and so there was no wait for this case. Dragon-oaks and lotine were the only suitable creatures for the outdoors, as far as he knew, and breedings for either seemed rare. Xentus stood aside waited for Jack to finish with her own papers before continuing their little chat. He'd given some thought to what he yearned to know exactly in the meantime.
"Hm.. Is it possible for the young between a little dragon and a grand one to grow so large?", he later asked, then looked down at Tuuli. It was tough to imagine her mothering a giant, considering the size disparity - the prospect was almost terrifying to ponder. He wasn't sure in what form offspring came from the dragons either. Born from an egg? Live birth? The facility ensured the healthy delivery of young in either case.

"Yes actually!" Jack said excitedly as she finished off her paperwork and handed it over. She smiled at Xentus and then nodded toward Zech who was still waiting outside, "He's thrown another Greater with a female of mine not too long ago. That one's still a little baby, but for now it's definitely bigger than the sibling, who I believe is just the size of a regular Fluttering." Eyeing Zech, she opened the door and offered to let Xentus and his female out first. The Greater seemed pleased to see her again, and reached down to nuzzle her a little as she got close enough. A chuckle escaped her and she patted him on the side, "I mean, they're pretty wobbly as babies though, so you have to help them out a bit sometimes, but they get strength in their necks pretty quickly I believe. Hopefully we can get one out of this breeding for you, if that's what you're wanting."

Now, wasn't that something to consider? That a pair between a large dragon and a small one could still fruitfully produce either sizing was interesting. Perhaps there was a chance for something in between, even. The size disparity between the pairing they had slated for today was still a mix of alarming and amusing.. But even more so now, exciting. A sparkle seemed to gleam in the leopard's eyes as he glanced at little Tuuli following after him, taking into consideration what Jack spoke next. Ah, to garner himself a giant plant-dragon of his own as a result of his venture? He'd certainly be chuffed to bits.
"This one would be lying if he said he wouldn't be interested in such a prospect", Xentus mused as he lead the way toward the garden-like corral, "He hopes with your guidance we might come to fruit such young. Though, what may even be the odds?" His question was more spoken out of wonderment than directly to his partner. His previous attempt at rearing a kair from kairfuryoo didn't go so well, but then again, it was only a single attempt. Perhaps things would fare better between dragons.

"The thought of a Greater with those wings of your female is a pretty interesting prospect as well. I hope we can get multiple, if we get something like that at all!" Jack said with a smile as she rubbed Zech's side for a moment before motioning for the three of them to follow her out to one of the little breeding buildings. They were big for the Greaters and anything bigger that could breed, she had needed one for the last breeding she had done after all. Jack smiled, she was ready for this to go well for them, though she wasn't sure what 'well' was going to be after all.
"I hope we can get a Greater at least, if nothing else. I'd like to see you get one if I'm being honest," she told him with a sidelong look. She was ready for this to get going, she couldn't wait to see the outcome of these two together.
