She sat in the waiting room of the Breeding Center, legs stretched out in front of her. They had gotten there early this time, much earlier than they really needed to, mainly because she was tired and didn't want to sleep through their appointment. Jack smiled sleepily at Dreampop, who was curled up in her lap, eyes and forehead slit tightly shut as she dreamed her little dreams. Not for the first time did the woman wonder about getting a translation ring for the species, but figured it might be lost on them for whatever reason. Sighing, she managed a little yawn and thought for a bit as to what kind of male her friend was bringing. They had agreed to meet up with a random pairing, but she had a good feeling about this. As she sat there, eyes slowly closing for a little while, she stroked Dreampop's back as they waited in the nice warm Center.

Apparently when Jack and Fiera agreed that they should do this again sometime, that translated into “I dunno, tomorrow?” So here Fiera was, arriving fashionably early to her second pachee breeding in as many days. Not that she was complaining of course (though she would if anyone asked her to). It was nice to get back into the swing of things after the long winter. And what an interesting male to do it with. Sci-Fi was the result of a pachee breeding done with a magical berry, and had the odd looks to show for it. Born from an unusually large litter, the male bore not one but two pairs of wings, in leafy feathers and bony leather. His rather crowded shoulders didn’t seem to bother him however, as the pachee was adventurous in every sense of the word, as if he was the protagonist of his own pulp novel. As Fiera walked up to Jack however, he was well contained in his carrier, peeking out through the bars.

Startled awake, apparently she had dozed off at one point as her fingers twirled Dreampop's soft fur around, Jack leapt to her feet as she clutched onto the startled Pachee and then gave a sheepish smile when she saw Fiera. "Sorry, must have dozed off... extra tired today, still not used to doing more than taking care of the animals in a day I suppose..." she trailed off, scratching her head as she rambled a little. She didn't need to apologize, did she? Oh well, it was fine. Smiling then, she set Dreampop on the floor and the little one wandered over to the other woman and her Pachee in the carrier since she wanted to meet him. What were they doing here? As she looked up with big, innocent eyes, Jack wasn't sure she would ever be anything but innocent, and gave her a soft smile. "Thanks for meeting me again, by the way!" she announced happily.

Fiera simply huffed and flipped her hair. “Well don’t get TOO lazy there, Jack. We’ve got quite a bit to do today.” She said, waggling her carrier at the human woman as a reminder. She sighed though, coming as close to “forgiving” as a person like her got. “Still, pleasant as always to meet you for a breeding. You always have the best pachee.” She said, her eyes sliding over Dreampop’s pastel coat. She just knew that the female, combined with Sci-Fi, would make fantastic offspring. Hopefully Jack would be able to stay awake long enough to see them. “Shall we go sign in, then?” Fiera said, gesturing at the front desk. Thankfully they were quite early and the breeding center was pretty empty today anyway- they would probably be able to walk right in after check in. Fiera grabbed a clipboard and papers off the front desk and practically threw it at Jack before getting started on her own.

"Eheh..." Jack managed, taking the paperwork with a little croon at Dreampop as she started to fill it out for herself and her own Pachee. She felt bad for falling asleep, but when that's all you do most days, or at least it seemed to be lately, then there wasn't much she could do about it. Sighing, she handed over the paperwork and leaned on the counter, smiling at her friend, "Thanks, you have great ones too, I can't wait to see what he looks like outside of the carrier!" Her enthusiasm was well founded, they had always planned well together and their offspring always looked amazing, she just couldn't wait to see what was going to happen with them. Silently crossing her fingers in her head, she chuckled a little and rubbed her face with a free hand as her other moved to redirect Dreampop from getting too far behind her and tripping her.

“Oh, he’s gorgeous.” Fiera said, always happy to have an opportunity to brag. Soon the receptionist had pointed them in the right direction for their breeding room, so Fiera decided to walk and talk, leading the way while Dreampop took up the rear. “At first you think he’s not much to look at, slightly muddy colors, awkward wings. But then you realize he actually has a dark rainbow between the stripes, like oil on water, and not one but TWO pairs of wings! I’m hoping the babes today get at least one of them, aha.” She said, rambling. Sci-Fi himself seemed unaware of his good looks, but he couldn’t help but notice the female trailing behind them. He patted on the window of the carrier, trying to catch her attention. He was trapped! Locked away by a mysterious jailer! Could this strange damsel assist him? “Oh, by the way...” Fiera said, stopping in front of the door to their room. “Let me get you those breeding berries.” She said, digging through her purse.

Jack smiled to herself, getting Fiera to talk was pretty easy, she opened up about everything it would seem, super confident about everything she did, and she absolutely loved it. Following behind with one eye on Dreampop to make sure they didn't leave her behind, she opened up the door again, hoping she picked up on the queue and winked at her friend, "Allow me! And next time you really need to let me bring the berries, okay?" she insisted, wondering if she should share her last magical berry on a breeding with her friend soon or not. They didn't work on most species, just Pachee really, which was fine enough for her. It made... weird things happen, and she was keen on making it happen again soon enough, she just didn't know on what? Dreampop sidled into the room and turned around to tilt her head at the male in the carrier. If she had the ability to chirp, she would have.

“Why thank you!” Fiera said, batting her eyelashes at the chivalry. “And you’re probably going to have to- I think I’m down to what, one or two of each now?” Fiera said, thinking back to her stores. It seemed like just yesterday she had picked up more breeding berries but here she was, nearly out again. She adored the results of her last magical berry breeding, but those berries were so rare to find that she doubted she’d be able to do another anytime soon. Fiera set her carrier down in the room and turned to her breeding partner, handing her the berries. “You might want to feed these to her now so Sci-Fi doesn’t get at them. He tries to eat everything.” Fiera said, wryly remembering what happened the last time she left a box of crackers near him. Considering that pachee ate with their feet, she was still finding crumbs everywhere.

"True!" Jack laughed, tossing the berries toward the female. Dreampop perked up at the sight of them and started to absorb them then and there. Thrilled with the treats, she seemed extremely happy about the prospect of... whatever was happening at the moment. She really was a pretty little lady, the woman thought as she slipped into the room after her friend and the male. At least this would give them some lovely offspring, or at least he hoped they would. "I do have several berries for breeding, and I can always get more no problem," she said with a smile as she sat down with a thump, "Have you ever thought about Orbaru...?" It was something she had thought about for awhile, they had bred Pachee and Houluh, but couldn't remember if they had ever bred those before. Honestly she had a terrible memory sometimes. "I can't remember if we have before, which is a problem, I know. But if you're interested I'm always here."

"We definitely haven't bred orbaru, buuuut frankly, they aren't as fun for me." She rolled her eyes. "Mostly because they take FOREVER. I have some baby berries for them though, so I guess that's a hard "maybe", eh?" After Dreampop ate the berries however, it was time for Fiera to (finally) stop talking and get to business. She fiddled with the carrier and finally released Sci-Fi into the world. The male immediately rushed toward Dreampop, ushering her into the bushes. Fiends! Kidnappers! He would not see this fair maiden held by them any longer. He was going to keep her safe and only romance her a little bit. That was fine by Fiera of course, who leaned against the nearest wall and leaned against it. Knowing pachee, this probably wasn't going to take too long. Undoubtedly though, they would have some gorgeous offspring to show for it, and Fiera, for one, was looking forward to it.
