Grendel 15/31 Three sets of eyes stared at the caterpillar inching around in the jar. Its bright neon pink with florescent yellow hairs. For all the gardening he'd done over his life, Flare hadn't seen this bright of a bug before. Why was he and Grendel here? The desperate asking of the local shopkeeper with his plants. Not the same as clearing bugs from prized cabbages... or wait, were they turnups? Radishes? Uh. "As I was saying, woke up this morn, and there's little brights like this all over the berries!" the man acted about as crazy as any passionate farmer would. "Theres too many to count! I need an extra set of hands! Please help?" "I can help, yes." the humanish nodded. But how to get all the caterpillars off the berries without ruining the crop further? He'd picked up something soft in the garden reacently, and shredded the soft skin with his coarse palms. 1 x.20

Arrm? The hound stared at the jar for a long period of time, long after the two humans had walked away to tend bushes. Crouching her body to the ground, Grendel watched the caterpillar with great intenseness. What... even was this thing. Could it play? "I thought about keeping a few to see if they turn butterfly, but at the same time... I'd rather not have another wave of these beasts." the human jabbered as he has gloves, tweezers and a burlap sack on him. Must be a helper of the shopkeeper. Flare himself had a little box of dirt. He had another idea on how to get the things off. For he'd found a seeding dandilion on his way here. and pinched off as much fuzzy seeds as he could, now squishing the dirt about to mix in the seeds. Instead of killing them, how about presenting something tastier. 2 x.20

"What do you plan on doing with a box of dirt?" the helper asked him with curiosity and a bit of unease, as he relentlessly ripped tiny pink bugs from the plants. They were going to be squashed up and then mixed in the fertilizer, if they has anything to say about the fate of these pests. "You will see." Flare tells him without looking around. He finished mixing up the soil and lays his hand, palm down on the soil. Focus. He squeezed his eyes shut, and lifts up the hand slowly. SLowly... as the box of dirt sprouted before the helper's eyes. Within a minute or so, the humanish, now a bit pale from effort has a box of newly grown dandilions, leaves and blossoms and all. Just starting to peek open. Flare sighs, and puts the dandilion box down next to one of the shorter plants. He saw the pup watching the jar. -flare casts blossom- 3 x.20

'Encouraging seeds to grow like that is difficult.' the tumaian humanish thinks to himself, massaging a sore area on his chest from the effort of the 'encouragement'. He had not much use of his magic, and it was just that. But the lure of freshly sprouted leaves was sure to be quite an interest to tiny littel voracious caterpillars. The helper didn't seem to think his idea was smart, so he kept performing murder by tweezer and burlap sack. Meanwhile, he hadn't tried to do anything for removing the bugs. But the lack of death might encourage them into a new colony. Didn't have to keep them, just... maybe a few? Grendel nosed the jar over. It landed on its side in the dirt, and the caterpillar curls up on itself to impact on the glass. She noses the jar a few times, as the pink ball that is bug rolls. 4 x.20

"I wouldn't keep bugs like that. Kodoku is bad." the humanish comments as he watches the helper fill his burlap sack further and further. "EH? No no, not burying them, first I crush them, and then mix with the soil; besides, they say worm casings makes excellent compost fertilizer." wait...weren't worm casings worm poop, not worm corpses? Well, if thats what he wanted to do, Flare wasn't about to stop em. In the meantime, his fresh dandilions attracted a few of the bugs off the short little plant with buds on it that he'd placed next to. They had already started chewing up the leaves. Excellent. He checked under the leaves and found a few sneaky bugs hiding out under the leaves, instead carefully plucking them with his sharper nails and placing them with their fellows on the dandilion colony. Now that a few were set aside, he picked off more bugs. They forgot Grendel and the jar until she came back with a very drooly jar and a very traumatized pink roly poly inside. 5 -fin x.20
