Morgan was ever cautious about the magical world. They refused to believe that magic wasn't something that science could explain, and even now they were busy unlocking secrets. However, they still knew that there was a unique danger when working with magic that others used- there was hardly anyone out there like Morgan, and they doubted that any two earth mages were the same either. There had to be some earth mages that worked on healing, and some undoubtedly on more nefarious things. They guessed more nefarious things this go around, judging by the general effect the garden had on them even outside of the garden itself on the road.
Still, they step forward and grasp the gate. There was no reason to be completely fearful of it, they had to get into the garden either way. The gate opens with a screechy creak. Morgan turns to look at Waar, unharmed. "You coming?"

Waar certainly did not want to, but it wasn't like he was afraid. He thought that it was a bit stupid to come to a place that apparently had 'monters' in it- let alone the creatures he could sense were beyond the gates. However, his human was going (no matter how stupid of an idea it was for such a soft-skinned individual to go through something like this) so he was to go as well. Waar breathes out through his nostrils in a 'forced' kind of fashion (he didn't have to breathe anymore, anyway) to make a point, and then he follows Morgan through the gate. Morgan circles around him once he was past the boundary, and closed the gate behind them. 'What are we looking for?' Waar asks grumpily. It was nearly a complaint. "Flowers, Waar. Specific ones." Morgan shows him the picture that they had never given back to the lady.

Waar has to squint to even see the picture. Some sort of flower- it had a really strange look to it. Almost glowy. Waar wrinkles the skin between his eyes, as if he would have wrinkled his nose. Morgan puts the picture back into one of their Labcoat pockets, and then turned towards the bulk of the forest. "How are w-we gonna move around in that?" They mused, staring into the forest. Waar wanted to suggest that they leave, but instead he resignedly watches as Morgan pushes back a few tree boughs, and reveals the remains of a nearly grown over path. "We c-can take this. Looks easier." 'How will we find the... Flowers.' Waar manages out of his collar of speech. 'Doubtful that a path will bring us to something the owner has not found.' He suggests. "True." Morgan says. "But you're very large, so we'll have to risk it."

Waar can't argue what he understood out of that exchange 'you' and 'large' specifically. He probably wouldn't fit through the thickly grown brush. He tilts his head in thought, and before Morgan could continue forward in the brush, he flaps his wings to get their attention. 'I can fly.' He specifically responds. 'Can fly above the forest, and search- then get you?' He half suggests and half demands. The human looks up, seeming to consider this. "Would you be able to find me?" Morgan asks. Waar wasn't entirely sure exactly what Morgan had said, but he felt like he understood that Morgan was concerned. Probably about the thickness of the garden's overgrowth. It was so thick that in some places beyond where they stood, sunlight didn't even dip through the trees in dapples. 'Can smell.' He answers, hoping to quell some of that concern. At that, he flapped his wings, and took a running start (there was hardly enough room, even near the fence, to do this but he manages it) before taking flight. [19]

Morgan watches Waar take flight, and wheel around. They sighed- it looked like they might be on their own a tad. They weren't worried about theirself. Instead, they worried about Waar. He was strong, sure- but the circumstances of his resurrection made him substantially weaker in some ways, too. Instead of hovering in the same area worrying though, they simply moved off onto the path they had decided to take. Might as well follow the path for a small amount of time until they found a hint or clue, right?
The path was barely any better than simply trudging through the underbrush. It was just a little lighter than the surrounding area! But Morgan could hear Waar above somewhere, and that made them more confident. They followed the windy, twisty path and was fairly certain that it was not made by a human after about thirty minutes' worth of a walk.

It wasn't long before Morgan began getting the sense that something was wrong- very wrong. They felt like they were being watched. Of course, they knew immediately that it meant that there was some kind of a predatory beast around- what with the warning of monsters and all. However, Morgan didn't seen hide nor hair of a giant monster at all. They squinted. Perhaps it was blended in with natural camouflaged? It sure was dark around here... They stood stark still as they waited for the answer to present itself. After nothing happens, they continue on. Finally, the overgrown path ends, and Morgan has to select an area to go towards. But where?
They choose to go left, and continue on with the strange feeling of being watched. Finally, they go to walk through a little clearing with a brook in it. It looked innocuous enough, and even had some nice sunlight- Oh, there was Waar! Morgan waves to him.

That was when they decided to go in for the attack. Morgan wheeled around, not entirely caught off guard, and was able to dodge the first one barreling at them quite easily- putting their hand up defensively as Waar seems to catch on something being wrong and dip down to get a better look from his vantage point up high. The human is not able to get a great look at them, but they get the gist. There were at least three of them, and they were SMALL. Really tiny. Almost like bees? They flew. That was all that Morgan knew. The human instinctively pulls on the chaos magic from the node that they'd swallowed, and lets out a panicked burst of energy without thinking much about the consequences. They still weren't the best at the less fine-turned part of their abilities, and it showed whenever the energy was released. If not for the fact that Morgan and Waar were electrically inclined- they probably would have been hurt themselves.

The powerful burst of magic was felt by Morgan in possibly the most exhausting fashion- but it seemed to do nothing at first. Waar still dropped from above to land in the clearing, and Morgan was still left standing- though tired. However, the three flying creatures dropped- and dropped FAST. Twitching, they hit the ground, as if the electricity in their bodies had rebelled entirely. Morgan probably would have been horrified if not for how tired they were. They walked over to one of the little twitching masses, and were a bit... Horrified. They definitely weren't as humanoid as say, a harachiu- but they weren't entirely bee-like either. Morgan swallows thickly, and walks away, trying to catch their breath and push the idea out of their mind.
They needed to get to Waar- and they did so rather quickly. "Gawsh Waar- I was expecting monsters, you know? Not... Well, those things." They stood, rubbing the back of their neck- which was prickly with sweat.

Waar couldn't help but be confused. He'd seen Morgan clearly get defensive and he had decided to land to see what was going on- but apparently the attackers were so small and vanquished so quickly that he was completely confused about what had happened. He hadn't seen anything during the entire thing- other than Morgan being weird. He regards Morgan curiously, and then snorts at them. Maybe they should stay together instead of moving apart? He grunts, and then speaks through the collar of speech- 'Saw a ravine. A bit away. Large enough for me. Glowy.' He is a drake of short words! Morgan nods, and the pair walk slowly out of the clearing. The defeated foes were left where they lay- they were not dead but probably wouldn't bother them again. Morgan wasn't even certain if they would have been any danger to them until they saw that they were carrying needles- and were still clutching them when they had seen.

Morgan wasn't one to trust just about anything. When they and Waar got to the grotto he had explained, Morgan couldn't help but feel completely uncomfortable about it. "I don't know about this one, Waar." Morgan says. Waar snorts, not really getting what Morgan was saying. Instead, he states proudly- 'See, big enough for me.' Morgan would much rather be around Waar than without him- mostly because he was large and would probably scare off most of the enemies at least before a fight even started. Would the tiny creatures have attacked them with Waar close by? Morgan sighs, and then enters the grotto, with Waar following behind. There was a tall dirt wall on either side, and at the very top were plants. Vines hanged down in some areas like curtains from the tall and menacingly curved inward trees at the top of the loose grotto walls. It was quite dark, and Morgan didn't feel good about this one.

The grotto was apparently quite long. They walked for a good while, and Morgan could tell even without light that the place was ever so slightly curling inward to one side. Morgan did not like that one bit. "Waar, did you see where this goes?" Morgan asked. Waar looks at them, trying to decipher. It was a question- he felt like it was a question. Morgan stops, and turns around to him. "V-Waar. Wuh-where does this-" They gesture to the walls around them- "Go?" 'Where... go.' Waar asks himself, through the collar. Then it clicks. 'Deep in the forest.' He answers. Morgan looks a little frustrated, but then feels it again- that strange, strange feeling. Something was wrong. Waar looks up, and his eyes widen. He reaches out with his teeth and grabs Morgan's backpack, yanking them to him before taking the smallest ever flight- hardly even a leap. [26] - [An Enemy arrives!]

Waar wheels around, landing like a cat on his feet- and facing the monster. Morgan was so jarred that it took them a moment to react, and when they did it was mostly to catch theirself whenever Waar dropped them gently to the ground (and no matter how gently he tried- it was still a harsh landing for a small human like Morgan). Waar reacted more quickly, and Morgan calls for him to pounce on whatever it was. It was round- like a giant orb, and covered in moss. It was a rock, with two carved 'eyes' and a cartoony carved 'grin' with sharp triangular teeth. It turns, slowly, and begins to roll towards them again. Just... What even was that thing?
Waar pounces on the thing, and isn't entirely certain what to do once he does. The pounce still does damage- and cracks the ball- but it was still rolling!

Waar is knocked off, but he catches himself with his wings enough to only slightly be thrown to the ground. It hurt, but it wasn't enough to kill him. He knew he was too slow to fire off a rapid attack or to try to save Morgan, so he was going to have to hope that Morgan could stop the thing theirself. Morgan raises up, puts up their hands, and then calls on the chaos again. Their eyes glow brightly and buzz brightly with what looks like TV static. The monster was getting pretty close now-
A bright splash of cyan and magenta acid is produced by Morgan's palms- and splatters against the geode monster thickly- like paint. At first, nothing happened and Morgan was afraid it was going to hit them. They threw up their hands in a futile attempt to not be struck. Just then, the geode monster began to smoulder- and dissolve.

This threw the ball's trajectory off, since it was much less round as soon as the acid began working on it. Morgan is able to move out of the way now that it was slowed, and it crashed against one of the loose ground walls. At first, Waar and Morgan panted and looked at each other- trying to catch their breath but surprised that they had won. However, they weren't able to celebrate for long because that was when they heard the tell-tale rumbling that signaled that there was about to be a ground slide from above where the geode monster had struck the grotto wall. Morgan's face twisted into a surprised and horrified expression, and they turned to run. Waar chased after them, slightly slower but nipping at their heels. The ground slide occurs behind them, blocking the path, and spilled out towards them- threatening to bury them in the wet loam.
The pair are barely able to make it around a corner, and into a clearing.

Now both of them needed to catch their breath. Both were on edge, and anxious- and though they'd only been attacked twice, they felt like it would take a lot more time today to find what they were looking for, and the possibility of them being attacked more along the way was high. However, Waar seems to catch sight of something before Morgan is able to catch their own breath, and he looks pointedly at the area with something glowing shining in his eyes. Morgan turns to follow his gaze- and there they were! What a lucky break, they thought!
"We found 'em, Waar!" Morgan exclaimed! They went to pick quite a few. Waar stood there, proudly. He had seen them earlier, and had hoped that Morgan would agree to follow him. Now all they had to do was return without getting hurt. The pair turned and began to walk back when Morgan remembered and smacked their own forehead.
"Oh gawsh... I guess we have to climb a bunch of l-loose dirt now."
